REMINDERS

CCISD buildings remain closed to the public.

All district offices will be closed for summer break Monday, June 22, through Monday, July 6.

CCISD RECEIVES $65,430 GRANT FROM PORT OF CORPUS CHRISTI Port of Corpus Christi representatives presented a grant check to Corpus Christi ISD officials in support of the district’s distance learning initiative.

The funds will help provide Chromebooks and hotspots to students at George Evans Elementary School, Moses Menger Elementary School, T.G. Allen Elementary School and David Crockett Elementary School.

COVID-19 PREVENTION

SUMMER SHUTDOWN CHECK LIST We are quickly approaching the end of another successful school year, and it is time to prepare for our summer shutdown of facilities and equipment. Significant energy savings can be achieved by gaining total commitment from employees in a detailed summer shutdown.

Practice social distancing by putting space between yourself and others. Continue to practice healthy habits, like washing your hands for at least 20 seconds and staying home if you’re sick, to help slow the spread of #COVID19. Learn more: http:// cdc.gov/coronavirus.

These steps will allow us to maximize savings and minimize waste. In order to accomplish this, we must all be willing to utilize proven energysaving techniques.

BOARD APPROVES 2020-2021 CALENDAR Our Board of Trustees approved Corpus Christi ISD’s designation as a yeararound district (one that offers instruction during 11 of the 12 months of the year), and also voted to approve Option #4, which begins August 13 and ends June 3.

Many thanks to all of you who have shared your thoughts with us since our closure began. We remain committed to caring for students and staff throughout this time.

MORE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES NEW DEADLINE TO RESIGN FROM CONTRACT POSITIONS In accordance with Board Policy DFE (Legal) that went into effect on June 4, 2019, the 2020 deadline to resign from contract positions is now Monday, June 29, 2020.

Specifically, Board Policy DFE (Legal) states: Resignation without Consent (Unilateral Resignation): An educator employed under a probationary contract for the following school year, or under a term or continuing contract, may relinquish the position and leave district employment at the end of the school year without penalty by filing a written resignation with a board or a board’s designee not later than the 45th day before the first day of instruction of the following school year.

Did you know broccoli contains more protein than a steak? Fruits and vegetables provide a variety of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. In addition, they lower your risk of developing certain chronic diseases and help you maintain a healthy weight. Color your plate with a fruit or vegetable this month.

During these anxious times, we all appreciate a little extra kindness. If a coworker chooses to share health information, it’s certainly a good idea to support them while following CDC guidelines.
