Hamlin Middle School soars into new era at new campus
On Sept. 9, we celebrated the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the brand-new Carl O. Hamlin Middle School campus! The new campus features natural lighting, collaborative learning spaces, modern security and technology and durable, storm-resistant construction.
“Our amazing students and dedicated staff are so deserving of this new building and everything it encompasses,” Principal Bridget Lamoureux said. “It is much more than a beautiful new space filled with new items, it is the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunity, learning, and growth.”
This campus was made possible by Bond 2022.

Flu/Vaccine clinic information
H-E-B will be in our District starting Monday, September 8 through Friday, October 3, to provide flu shots and other vaccines. The Clinic Schedule is attached.
Registration:
• H-E-B pharmacy requires most CCISD clinic locations to meet a minimum requirement of 20 participants. If the minimum is not met using the registration links on the schedule, the clinic is subject to cancellation per H-E-B and your campus will be notified. You and your covered dependents are welcome to go to any H-E-B to receive vaccines.
Cost:
• Employees and dependents enrolled in the District’s group health plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield may receive the flu shot, the pneumonia vaccine, shingles, the tetanus booster, and the COVID booster from H-E-B at no cost.
Costs for the five (5) vaccines for employees who do not have the District’s group health plan is:
• *The tetanus booster includes the vaccine that protects from pertussis (whooping cough) and stops the spread of whooping cough to others, such as babies and small children who have not yet been immunized. What do I need to do?
• Bring your BCBS ID card and the completed Vaccine Consent Form.
• Refer to the Vaccine Consent Form for a complete listing of vaccines available at the H-E-B locations.

City Council honors Martin Middle School teacher
Congratulations to Laura Mata, Martin Middle School teacher and City Council’s Teacher of the Month! With 16 years of teaching experience, including 15 with CCISD, Mrs. Mata has dedicated her career to supporting students and building a classroom culture centered on growth, problem-solving and community.
She says her greatest achievement is seeing the transformation of her students throughout the year and helping them become not just stronger in math, but stronger contributors to the community.
