K.E.Y.S. Walk: Paving the path to student success

CCISD employees and community volunteers came together in hopes out-of-school youth took a step in the educational direction on Sept. 21.

The annual K.E.Y.S. Walk is aimed at connecting educators and youth who have not yet returned to school. Teams of volunteers spread across the city knocking on doors to speak with families and students to reconnect them to education opportunities. The event brought 140 volunteers who visited 235 visits. They made contact with 64 students and parents. #ThePowerWithin

Flu/vaccine clinics

H-E-B will be in our District starting Monday, September 23 , through Friday, October 25, to provide flu shots and other vaccines.

H-E-B pharmacy is now requiring most CCISD clinic locations to meet a minimum requirement of 20 participants. If the minimum is not met using the registration links provided, the clinic is subject to cancellation per HEB and your location contact will be notified.  Employees can always go to any H-E-B to receive vaccines.

Employees and spouses enrolled in the District’s group health plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield may receive the flu shot, the pneumonia vaccine, shingles, the tetanus booster, and the Covid booster from H-E-B at no cost.

Costs for the five vaccines for employees who do not have the District’s group health plan is:

• Flu shot - $45.00

• COVID Booster $189.99

• Pneumonia Vaccine $303.15

• Tetanus Booster* (Boostrix)$58.79
