SEPTEMBER

Congratulations, Purple Star Campuses!

Congratulations, to our campuses who received Purple Star Campus Designations for the 20242025 school year! #CCISDproud

The Purple Star Campus Designation program recognizes Texas public schools for their exceptional commitment to supporting and meeting the needs of military-connected students and their families.

Veterans Memorial High School, Kaffie Middle School and ECDC, Mireles and Webb elementary schools earned designations in 2023-2024.

Flu/vaccine clinics

H-E-B will be in our District starting Monday, September 23 , through Friday, October 25, to provide flu shots and other vaccines.

H-E-B pharmacy is now requiring most CCISD clinic locations to meet a minimum requirement of 20 participants. If the minimum is not met using the registration links provided, the clinic is subject to cancellation per HEB and your location contact will be notified.  Employees can always go to any H-E-B to receive vaccines.

Employees and spouses enrolled in the District’s group health plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield may receive the flu shot, the pneumonia vaccine, shingles, the tetanus booster, and the Covid booster from H-E-B at no cost.

Costs for the five vaccines for employees who do not have the District’s group health plan is:

• Flu shot - $45.00

• COVID Booster $189.99

• Pneumonia Vaccine $303.15

• Tetanus Booster* (Boostrix)$58.79

• Shingrix Shingles – $235.24 (1 dose, 2 dose series)

*The tetanus booster includes the vaccine that protects from pertussis (whooping cough) and stops the spread of whooping cough to others, such as babies and small children who have not yet been immunized. Bring your BCBS ID card and the attached, completed Vaccine Consent Form to the flu/vaccine clinic. Refer to the Vaccine Consent Form for a complete listing of vaccines available at the H-E-B locations. If you do nothave your BCBS ID Card, you may:

SMART Board safety information

SMART Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs) are an important part of the classroom learning environment. The district’s IFPs use a hydraulic mount that allows the device to be raised or lowered with the use of a remote.

Please be advised that shelving, desks, or any other solid objects should not be placed below SMART IFPs. Objects placed below IFPs will impede movement of the unit, causing damage to the safety latches, which in turn may cause the unit to dismount from the bracket. Your assistance in this important injury protection measure is appreciated. If you suspect or observe a faulty IFP or hydraulic mount, please contact your supervisor immediately.

Bond 2024 approved email signature

The district has approved a Bond 2024 signature block you may use in your district emails through Nov. 5.

All schools, departments, and district offices are required to use the standard CCISD email signature template, as shown in page 15 of the Brand Style Guide

In keeping with the aim of presenting a unified and professional image, employees may not use personal quotes, backgrounds or logos of other organizations into their email signature. See page 16 of the Brand Style Guide

To insert the new signature, follow these steps:

• Open Outlook

• Click Options

• Select Mail
