On Sept. 7, we celebrated the opening of the new Weldon Gibson Elementary School during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The original campus dates back more than 70 years. The new campus, made possible by Bond 2020, features multiple shared spaces for students including collaboration spaces, art and music classrooms. An outdoor courtyard serves as an extension of the classroom learning spaces to encourage and promote connection to the outdoors. “We celebrate the hard work, vision and dedication of everyone that took part in bringing this new campus to fruition,” principal Julissa Segovia said.
