CCISD promotes one campus, one district leader
As CCISD begins the second six weeks of the school year, the district has promoted two leaders to new assignments.
Stevie Swanson has been selected as the new principal of Harold C. Kaffie Middle School. She replaces Werner “Bucky” Hartman, who accepted a position outside the district. Swanson, whose experience includes service as an assistant principal at Marvin Baker Middle School and principal at London Middle School, was most recently an assistant principal at Mary Carroll High School.
Swanson holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas A&M University as well as a master’s in education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She has been an educator since 2010.
“The committee valued Ms. Swanson’s experience as an administrator as well as her strong ties in CCISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “We look forward to her leadership of the Dolphins community.”
Recent promotions also include Thomas Molina, who is now the district’s Chief Technology and Information Security Officer. Molina, who previously served as the district’s information security officer, takes over from Sean Babcock, who accepted a position outside the Coastal Bend.
Molina holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, as well as a variety of industry certifications. Prior to his most recent roles with CCISD, Molina’s experience includes 12 years with AT&T as well as extensive prior experience in CCISD, including director of technology support services.
“We appreciate Mr. Molina’s experience and advocacy in an area that is vital to school district business,” Hernandez said. “We are grateful for a smooth transition under his leadership.”
CCISD will have a student holiday and teacher prep day on Friday, Oct. 6, followed by an intersession week Oct. 9-13.
