Congratulations, October Above the Line Winners! District leaders recently announced the October 2023 Above the Line employees. Four honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they had been selected. Do you know an employee who goes Above the Line? Nominate them! Maria Gongora, cafeteria helper, Hamlin Middle School Maria always helps where needed. She assists numerous campuses providing breakfast meals. She has helped our department countless times when a sub was needed to help with breakfast and supper service. She always has a positive attitude and is a tremendous help in our Food Services Department.

Victoria Glover, Mary Carroll High School, Substitute Ms. Glover started her journey at Carroll High School as a long-term substitute in English 2 and achieved great success in student performance last year. She volunteered to attend professional development to accelerate her growth. Recently, Ms. Glover took her teacher certification test and passed! She now serves as a full-time teacher for the Carroll Tigers! Catherine Maldonado, SPED Teacher, Smith Elementary School Mrs. Maldonado advocates for our students. She goes above the line for her students, parents and staff. She has also provided Smith staff with valuable professional development to assist with student learning. Mrs. Maldonado assists at every function to keep the connections with her students and their families strong. Mrs. Maldonado definitely makes us Stronger Together. Federico Saqui Lara, Oak Park Elementary School Principal Mr. Saqui goes above and beyond for all of the Oak Park Tigers. You can feel the heart he has for his students and staff. He is the first one to greet you at the door and he beams with pride as he talks about the Oak Park community. Mr. Saqui meets with students to track their goals and celebrates their success. He is a true champion for this campus.
