District surprises graduating seniors with teaching job offers

District leaders surprised graduating seniors at Foy H. Moody High School, Roy Miller High School, and Veterans Memorial High School with an official Teaching Commitment Letter! These students have completed the Education and Training Career Pathway, exploring what it means to be an educator through hands-on experience at nearby CCISD elementary campuses. Each letter includes a job offer to teach in CCISD after they graduate from college and earn their teaching certification! We can’t wait to welcome them back to CCISD as teachers.

Windows 11 upgrade

Technology Services Staff will coordinate with department leads and Principals to identify the date(s) in which your site will be updated. Updates will take place between March 2025 through July 2025. During this time, each site/ department will be provided an inventory of computers that indicates whether they can be updated to Windows 11. All staff should ensure that they have backed up their data prior to the update, including files and browser bookmarks. For more information on how to back up data visit this Knowledge Base article. Staff can also enter a help desk ticket for additional support.

District announces Ella Barnes Elementary School principal

As Corpus Christi ISD prepares for the 2025–2026 school year, the district continues to announce new campus leadership.

The district has named Jennifer Aguilar as the principal of Ella Barnes Elementary School. Aguilar most previously served as the Administrator of Academics and Accountability at Veterans Memorial High School. She also served as an Assessment and Accountability Advisor in the district’s Office of Assessment and Accountability. Aguilar follows Katherine Gorman, who will begin serving as principal of the Early Childhood Development Center in the 2025–2026 school year.

“The committee is confident Mrs. Aguilar is well prepared to lead the Barnes community,” Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said. “Her proven leadership will ensure continued excellence and forward momentum on campus.”
