Congratulations to Dr. Christina Barrera of Moses Menger Elementary School for being named the 2026 NAESP National Distinguished Principal of the Year for Texas by Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association!
Through her leadership, Menger has become one of the top-performing campuses in the district, creating a learner-centered environment where all students are encouraged to grow and succeed. The campus’ innovative pre-k program was recently recognized as a Top 3 finalist in the Community’s Choice Awards for Best of the Best Preschool Program. TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart praised Dr. Barrera as an exceptional instructional leader who inspires both students and teachers to pursue continuous growth.
Congratulations to Trustee Dr. Alice Upshaw Hawkins on successfully defending her dissertation! Her dedication continues to inspire students, staff and the CCISD community.
