Teachers and staff are keeping the learning going during the 21st Century ACE program. The program, offered at 10 district campuses, included activities in construction trades, culinary arts, cosmetology and hair design, guitar and STEM.

Family Counseling Service resumes in-person services In-person services have resumed for all clients of Family Counseling Service.

Full time CCISD employees have three free counseling sessions at Family Counseling Service each year. For more information, call 361-852-9665 or visit www.fcscb.org.

Two campus administrators named 2021-2022 Administrators of the Year Two CCISD campus administrators have been selected as 2021-2022 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Region 2 Administrators of the Year.

Anna Fuentes, principal of Paul R. Haas Middle School, was named TASSP Region 2 Middle School Principal of the Year.

Dr. Barbara Brinkman, assistant principal at Cunningham Middle School at South Park, was named TASSP Region 2 Middle School Principal of the Year.

TASSP recognizes exemplary performance among campus level administrators.

Voluntary student/ athletic accident insurance The district is making available a voluntary student/athletic accident insurance plan.

Plans include: • School time coverage, which covers accidents only during school hours • Full time coverage, which covers the student 24 hours a day, seven days a week, any place/time • Football coverage for varsity players grades 10-12 • Dental coverage, which covers the student 24 hours a day for any dental accident The insurance can be purchased any time during the school year.

Summer COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students, families CCISD has partnered with The Children’s Center of Corpus Christi to offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to students and families ages 12 and up.

Vaccines will be given by appointment only and must be scheduled by the Friday before the Monday vaccine clinic.

Job opportunites We’re always looking for great employees to join #TeamCCISD. The district will host an Auxiliary Job Fair from 9 a.m. to noon July 14 at the Mary Carroll High School cafeteria.

There will be on-site interviews for custodians, cafeteria helpers, bus drivers/bus attendants, site maintenance helpers and athletics field crews.

Food Services recognized for Farm Fresh Challenge Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller recognized Food Services for successfully completing the Texas Department of Agriculture’s 2021 Spring Farm Fresh Challenge. The challenge encourged districts and childcare providers across the state to eat local and teach local from April 12 to May 14. The initiative was created to connect farmers and ranchers with nutrition programs administed by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
