COVID-19 TESTING AND VACCINES

CCISD encourages everyone age 5 and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

For vaccine and testing sites, visit Nuecesknows.com.

CCISD is partnering with the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District to offer COVID-19 vaccines for ages 5 and up. Parental consent is required for students under the age of 18. For a list of COVID-19 vaccine clinics happening on CCISD campuses, click here.

Free COVID-19 rapid testing will begin Jan. 10 at Baker Middle School. For more information, click here.

In the Board Room: Celebrating School Board Recognition Month

Are you thinking this will be the year you retire? Are you getting close or just want to learn more about TRS? CCISD has partnered with Elite Plus to present an “Understanding TRS” meeting.

Elite Plus, CCISD’s 457 retirement plan provider, will explain how the TRS process works and answer your questions about retirement health insurance, beneficiary options, expected monthly TRS payments and more.

During a regular Board of Trustees meeting on Jan. 24, Kevin Mihm was sworn in as a trustee for District 3.

Board members were celebrated for School Board Recogition Month. The board also recognized December Above the Line winners and librarians for their work in digital citizenship.

There will be three ways to receive the information: •Attend in-person •View the live steam (link provided closer to date of meeting) •View the recorded meeting at future date on the district’s YouTube channel.

The Office of Food Services recently announced the “Best of the Bunch” winners. Four honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by a committee at the end of every six weeks. View the newsletter here.

Administrator - Lisa Barger, satellite clerk “A big thank you to Lisa. She puts up with our craziness and is so sweet about it.”

Manager - Chelsea Rivera, Zavala Elementary School “Chelsea’s bubbly personality and positivity is contagious. She is immensely appreciated and her dedication to our department does not go unnoticed.”

Helper/trainee - Jennifer Vela, Browne Middle School Jennifer has helped at Calk-Wilson Elementary School for the breakfast shift before going to her regular shift at Browne Middle School. She is always positive in all she does.

Warehouse/Driver - Jaime Alejandro, market supervisor “While preparing for our audit, Jaime was sent a long list of items needing food labels. He quickly gathered items on pallets and had them ready. It may seem small, but his thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed.”
