District names Director for Strategic Evaluation and Assessment Supports

Corpus Christi ISD is pleased to announce that Brandi Garza will serve as Director for Strategic Evaluation and Assessment Supports, beginning in January. She currently serves as Coordinator for Title I, Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities, and Grant Programs and Funds.

Garza began her teaching career at George Evans Elementary School and later served as the campus’ instructional coach. She has extensive experience in federal and state programs and oversees district instructional coaches and parent engagement instructional paraprofessionals.

In her new role, Garza’s work will include management of the district’s involvement in the Teacher Incentive Allotment Program and direct oversight of the Office of Assessment and Accountability.

House Bill 3 established the Teacher Incentive Allotment to recognize effective teachers on three levels: Recognized, Exemplary and Master. The designations qualify districts for teacher-focused allotment funding to reward high-performing educators. Additionally, Garza will support the district’s work in reaching district and campus goals and initiatives, including assessment and school improvement.

Garza holds a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in business administration, both from Saint Leo University.

“Ms. Garza’s extensive experience in federal and state programs, along with her strong campus background, will serve her well in this new role,” said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “We look forward to her leadership as we advance our work with the Teacher Incentive Allotment and continue strengthening academic outcomes and professional excellence across Corpus Christi ISD.”
