Congratulations, December Above the Line winners!

Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez recently announced the December 2022 Above the Line employees. Three honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they had been selected.

Do you know an employee who goes Above the Line? Nominate them!

Dr. Marcos Aguilera, Principal at Sanders ES

Dr. Aguilera begins each school day with upbeat songs playing by the front door and welcomes the Sanders Saints with fist bumps, high fives and a big smile. He empowers the entire community from the moment our families step foot into Sanders Nation. He empowers the campus team by saying “Yes” to activities that support the success of the students he serves. Teachers and staff feel excited to come to work.

Lorelle Itz-Valverde, Librarian at Mireles ES

Mrs. Valverde has done so much for our campus. When the great Vanilla Ice said “if there was a problem, I’ll solve it,” he must have been talking about Mrs. Valverde. She is solution-oriented and is always striving to improve educational experiences for our students. She empowers our students, their parents and her colleagues everyday through her actions.

Sydney Velasquez, Paraprofessional at ECDC Sydney loves the staff and will do whatever it takes to help take care of our teachers and staff. She helps set up classrooms for activities, prepares schedules and works with PTA to help secure donations. She makes many of our first-time parents feel welcome and helps support their needs. She is always willing to help and does so with a smile on her face.
