Congratulations, campus Teacher of the Year winners!

Congratulations to the 2023-2024 campus Teacher of the Year winners!

Winners recently submitted essays, which will be judged by a committee this month. The committee will then select 10 elementary semifinalists and six secondary semifinalists. All campus winners will be celebrated at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year Ceremony in April!

CCISD Board of Trustees named H-E-B Excellence in Education state finalist Don’t miss the latest episode of the Superintendent’s Spotlight!

CCISD’s board members began School Board Recognition Month by learning they are one of five state finalists in the prestigious H-E-B program that celebrates those working in public education.

The Outstanding School Board honor follows the April 2023 announcement that CCISD was named the statewide winner in the Large District Category.

“We know our board is exceptional, and it is wonderful to see their work recognized at this level,” said Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “School board members are volunteers, and our board demonstrates a high degree of dedication and unity as they work in support of our students and staff.”

The winner will be announced in the spring during H-E-B Excellence in Education’s annual awards dinner in San Antonio.

Created in 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards are designed to honor outstanding public school professionals and to thank them for their dedication and commitment. Through this program, H-E-B seeks to pay tribute to those educators who go the extra mile each and every day to serve their students and their communities and who inspire others to do the same. Since its inception, nearly $13 million has been awarded to educators, schools, districts and early childhood facilities across the state.

CCEF Hearts & Minds 5K Run information Get your running shoes ready! The Corpus Christi Education Foundation Hearts & Minds 5K Run is Jan. 27, 2024. The run begins at 8 a.m. at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
