COVID-19 TESTING AND VACCINES CCISD encourages everyone age 5 and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

For vaccine and testing sites, visit Nuecesknows.com.

CCISD is partnering with the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District to offer COVID-19 vaccines for ages 5 and up. Parental consent is required for students under the age of 18. For a list of COVID-19 vaccine clinics happening on CCISD campuses, click here.

Free COVID-19 rapid testing will be at Baker and Kaffie middle schools. For more information, click here.

Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez announced a Pre-K center at the Early Childhood Development Center. The center will be ready for 154 Pre-K aged students in August 2022.

During summer, ECDC will receive an extensive renovation. For more on ECDC, watch the latest Superintendent’s spotlight.

15th annual Student Leader event

Uptown corridors Revitalization survey The Uptown Corridors Revitalization Strategy - Staples and Leopard is a City Planning and Economic Development initiative that evaluates the revitalization of Staples Street from Six Points to Interstate Highway 37 and Leopard Street from Upper Broadway Street to Crosstown Expressway.

This initiative incorporates businesses’ and residents’ input to develop a strategy for revitalization that will guide future development.

Share your ideas for spreading cheer Our district is using ThoughtExchange, an anonymous, one-question survey platform that helps gather feedback and guide conversations.

We’d like to know what your campus or department does to help you and your coworkers feel appreciated. Let us know!

Once you answer the question, you can rate your interest in the other responses to help everyone see what initiatives might be most appealing.

We’ll share the responses in a future issue of Intercom so you can get new ideas for your school or department.

The 15th annual Student Leader event was Feb. 9 at Veterans Memorial High School. The open house style event recognized district students who are student council and senior council presidents and vice presidents at their respective campuses.

2022 teaching scholarship application open DR. D. SCOTT ELLIFF SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Dr. D. Scott Elliff Scholarship Award was established to support CCISD staff who are attending classes to earn a college degree to become an educator or, if degree has already been received, need to obtain a State Teaching Certification.

The scholarship award amount is $500.
