Our district now has a text option for receiving information via School Messenger. Employee may opt in by texting 67587 with a message that has “Y” or “Yes.” Check if your information is up to date by visiting portal.ccisd. us. CCISD’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Family Counseling Services: 852-7415.

To better serve the staff of CCISD, Family Counseling Service has extended the number of visits to five visits per year at no additional cost to employees. Click here for more information.

The Corpus Christi ISD Police Department delivered thousands of stuffed animals to 37 CCISD elementary schools this week.

Officers and Santa surprised pre-k and kinder classes with a variety of stuffed animals ahead of the holiday season.

In the Board Room: Dr. Tony Diaz recognized for service to CCISD The Board of Trustees recognized Dr. Tony Diaz for his service to the board and CCISD during Monday’s meeting. The board presented Diaz with a plaque and a board resolution honoring his service.

Meet Ashley Perez!

It is her first year with CCISD. She teaches 2nd grade at Meadowbrook Elementary School.

The board also recognized October Above the Line winners and Employee Giving Campaign campuses and CCISD’s HR Department.

Additionally, the board voted to fill the vacant District 3 seat by appointment, which would expire in November 2022.

Eligible District 3 residents may apply for the position beginning Dec. 13 by visiting the district website. The application will close at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 3.

Vote for your favorite CCISD Christmas tree CCISD schools shared their holiday spirit by decorating a Christmas tree for the 12th Anniversary Christmas Tree Forest at the Art Museum of South Texas.

This year’s theme is Reading Wonderland. Stop by through Dec. 15 to see all the CCISD trees. Vote for your favorite tree in person or online. Those with the top three trees will win an H-E-B gift card.

Wear Red Day

Holiday student performances return Windsor Park Elementary School’s Spirit Club and the Roy Miller High School Orchestra Ensemble kicked off the holiday student performances at the Administration Building.

It was the first round of performances since 2019.

Wear Red Day is Friday, Feb. 4!

The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign is designed to increase women’s heart health awareness. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women.

Order your Go Red T-shirt by Jan. 13 to receive it in time for Wear Red Day. Order online here or text “CCISDGIVES” to 41444. You will receive a link to the order form. Shirts are $25.

COVID-19 vaccines and testing for students and staff CCISD encourages everyone age 5 and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19. For vaccine sites, visit Nuecesknows.com.

CCISD is offering testing clinics for CCISD students and employees.

Testing is always voluntary. Walk-in testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students under 18 will need a parent present to sign a consent form.

• Aetna – Effective January 1, 2022, Aetna will be the new medical and prescription provider for employees. You should receive ID cards by the end of December.

Employees can reach an Aetna dedicated customer service representative at 1-800-220-1017 for any questions. Discontinue the use of the Blue Cross Blue Shield and Express Scripts ID cards on Jan. 1, 2022, and notify your medical providers and pharmacy of the district’s new medical and prescription insurance company.

• Ameriflex – Effective Jan. 1, 2022, Ameriflex will be the new Flexible Spending Provider for medical and dependent care expenses.

You should receive new cards and welcome kits the last week of December. Funds will also be loaded on the new cards effective Jan. 1. Funds remaining with TASC can be used through February 28, 2022.

• Wellness Reimbursements – Employees who have elected the MetLife Cancer Plan, United Health Care Accident Plan or the Voya Critical Illness Plan and have completed a Wellness Exam are eligible to receive a reimbursement of up to $100 directly from the company. Click here for information.
