Convocation kicks off 2024-2025 school year
CCISD showed their spirit during this year’s Convocation!
During the event, Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez encouraged staff to continue building our students up to be successful in everything they do. He invited each campus to show their school spirit during the crowd favorite Roll Call. Campuses and departments showed their spirit by wearing matching shirts, resulting in a colorful display that filled the American Bank Center Arena. There was even a shark and astronaut costume spotted in the crowd.
Keynote speaker Damon West shared an inspiring message about overcoming adversity and using those moments as opportunities to grow. He also encouraged educators to be a source of hope and encouragement for students.

Creekside Elementary School ribbon cutting
We had a fin-tastic time celebrating the opening of Creekside Elementary School during the ribbon cutting ceremony on July 31.
A big wave of community members, future students and elected officials attended the event to show their support.
“We are officially part of Creekside Elementary’s history, along with everyone here who has helped make it happen,” Principal Christa Rasche said at the event.
