COVID-19 safety measures remain in place As our community works to reach herd immunity, it is up to all of us to continue wearing masks, washing our hands and social distancing, even if we have been vaccinated.

Why? While many CCISD employees have been vaccinated, only about 28% of Nueces County adults are vaccinated, and children under the age of 16 are not yet eligible for vaccines. Additionally, while the immunizations are highly effective at preventing hospitalizations or death, and indications are they are highly effective at preventing disease, no immunization is 100% effective. Simple safety measures, such as wearing a mask, remain highly effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Club Estates Elementary School has ribbon-cutting for library Grand Re-opening

On April 9, Club Estates had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their remodeled library. After the ceremony, students took a tour of the library and received a bookmark to commemorate the event.

H-E-B plans giveaway, opens 2022 Excellence in Education nominations H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards will give away $100,000 in cash prizes to educators throughout the state during a Virtual Tribute to Texas Teachers on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

Have you been feeling disconnected? Virtual meetings and classes and social distancing may be reasons for feeling disconnected.

Sharing thoughts, feelings, challenges and successes is an important aspect of connection.

When we are vulnerable with someone who supports us and shares their vulnerability, a stronger connection is formed.

It’s OK to be scared to share your thoughts and feelings. Start small and learn more about the people in your life, and respond with support.
