Hearts and Minds Wellness Retreat Join us for a morning of relaxation, mindfulness and wellness on April 30 at the CIRC Building.

Choice session topics include: Fitness and nutrition, yoga, embroidery, meditation and guided breathing and games.

A tea bar and snacks will be provided.

Retreat for employees will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 30. Register here.

Retreat for CCISD parents and caregivers will be from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Register here.

Exchange Teachers Visiting International Program Chief Human Resources Officer Debbie Cruz represented CCISD in a Education Service Center, Region 2 meeting for the Exchange Teachers Visiting International Program.

The administrator with the Tlaxcala Department of Education visited ESC Region 2 to discuss processes of the program. The district is one of a few area districts involved in the program.

Stress Awareness Month: 6 tips for managing stress April is Stress Awareness Month.

Learning to cope with stress and finding healthy ways to deal with stressful situations can go a long way.

Here are six tips for managing stress.

Practice the “big three”: Eating healthly, exercising and get enough sleep.

Learn how to relax: Meditation and deep breathing are great ways to feel more relaxed. It’s important to find out what works for you.

Put your feelings on paper: Try writing out your thoughts. Getting the thoughts out of your mind will tell your brain the thought is safe and it no longer needs to hold onto it.

Be proactive: If you are feeling overwhelmed and worn down, take a look at things that can take a backseat until

you feel up to addressing them.

Talk about your problems: Talking through a problem can help you work through a stressful situation.

Confiding in a trusted friend or family member can go a long way.

Do something you enjoy: Learning new skills and taking the time to do something you love creates an outlet to relieve stress.
