organizations including H-E-B Excellence in Education and the Career and Technical Association of Texas. We are honored to have schools that hold Purple Star Campus designations for providing support for militaryconnected families.
We are also home to multiple AVID National Demonstration schools, where entire campuses commit to a framework and build a culture focused on preparing all students for success in high school and beyond.

The Board of Trustees consists of seven volunteers who reside within the district’s boundaries and are elected by voters to serve four-year terms. The board votes on matters including the approval of school policy, curriculum, expenditures and building programs.

Returning students must complete an Annual Update. This brief process ensures your contact information and address are up to date and ensures we can properly support your child. Start the process on our website today.
Documents you may need during the process include proof of residency, immunization and, if applicable, legal documents.
Student Health Services
We promote a healthy and safe school environment for all students through health screening, immunization monitoring and preventing the spread of illnesses.
School nurses at every CCISD campus are equipped to provide students with immediate care as needed. Help ensure the school can contact you by completing the Annual Update and telling the front office at your student’s school if any of your information
changes. Remember to include your emergency contacts in case a parent or guardian cannot be reached.
Immunizations
All students must be immunized and provide records from a licensed physician or public health clinic. The school nurse can provide guidance on age-appropriate immunization schedules and which vaccinations are required by state law.

Medications
All prescription medications given at school require written permission signed by a parent or guardian and a physician. Contact your child’s school nurse with any questions.

Pre-K close to home
Early childhood education gives young children significant advantages in language, literacy and math skills. We offer pre-K at neighborhood schools across the district for children ages 3 and 4. Working together
A child succeeds when a strong partnership exists between home and school. A family’s involvement in this partnership may look like:
• Ensuring that your child comes to school every day on time, rested and ready to learn.
• If your child is absent, call or email the school that day. Please also submit a medical excuse or a written note describing the reason for the absence.
State law requires that students attend class 90% of the school year to receive credit. CCISD’s attendance goal is 95% or above for all students.

Career and Technical Education
At CCISD, students receive a wellrounded education designed to prepare them for life beyond high school. Starting as early as middle school, Career and Technical Education (CTE) helps build a strong foundation for career and college.
CTE provides exposure to skills that expand creativity, problem-solving and leadership. Students have valuable

Technology Services
CCISD is excited to continue its 1:1 for Everyone student device program for the 2026-2027 school year. The program provides students with tools to access, create, share and collaborate using a device provided for them to use throughout the year.
Families will have access, through the school’s webstore, to device insurance options ranging from $15 to $30.

Grading and Report Cards
Report cards and progress reports are available in Canvas to keep parents informed about their student’s academic progress in school. Both students and parents have access to grades in Canvas.

Report cards are typically available one week after the end of the grading period. Parents, remember
to electronically sign your student’s report card after each grading period. You may request a paper copy of the report card from your student’s campus.

Students within CCISD will continue to receive a free breakfast and lunch thanks to the Community Eligibility Program.

Transportation
School buses are part of an organized, safety-oriented transportation system, with each bus inspected and repaired regularly. Bus drivers meet specific training and operational requirements, as prescribed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
School bus transportation is provided for students who live 2 miles or more from their assigned school. Students
residing within 2 miles of their assigned school may have transportation available if their neighborhood qualifies. Questions? Contact the Office of Transportation at 361-695-7610. Boundaries and Transfers
CCISD assigns each student to a specific campus based on their home address. To look up specific addresses and find your child’s school, visit the district’s website ccisd.us and click on “School Locator.”
Every student’s path is different. We understand that each student has unique needs and CCISD offers several transfer options designed to meet a wide range of student needs. To find the program that best fits your family and apply, visit the Student Transfers page of our website.
Dress Code
The district’s dress code establishes a minimum standard for dress and grooming; additional expectations may be set by your school principal.

Reporting Bullying
CCISD does not tolerate bullying. Bullying may include verbal or written expression, expression through electronic means or physical conduct. The district prohibits bullying on school property, at school-related activities or in vehicles operated by the district.
Anyone who believes a student has experienced or engaged in bullying should report the incident immediately to a teacher, school counselor, principal or district employee.

With 55 sworn officers, 32 security personnel, seven dispatchers, two staff members and a threat assessment investigator, the department is committed to fostering a secure learning environment.

Emergencies and Drills
We are committed to the safety and security of students, staff and visitors. The district will continue to follow the Standard Response Protocol and its emergency actions of Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter-in-Place.
Personal Devices
Due to state law changes in 2025, students must not use personal communication devices during the school day. All personal devices are to be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack or turned over to the front office for secure storage until after school. Any electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication, including a cellphone, tablet, smartwatch and smart glasses, must remain turned off and stored until after the last period of the school day.

ATHLETICS
District of Distinction
CCISD was one of 39 school districts recognized in the 2025-2026 school year for exemplary sportsmanship through the Texas Way program. We are dedicated to upholding respect, integrity and fair play for all student-athletes, families, staff and fans.
Physicals and Guidelines
Students in grades 7-12 need a current physical and medical history on file. Each school year, the Office of Athletics provides a Student and Parent Athletic Handbook. The handbook includes important eligibility guidelines and policies from the Texas Education Agency and University Interscholastic League (UIL). Livestream Games
Can’t attend the games in person? Fans may watch live, online! Sporting events held at Cabaniss Sports Complex, Buccaneer Stadium, the Corpus Christi Natatorium and in the gyms of each CCISD high school are streamed on the district’s Hudl page at ccisdsportsnetwork.com.
Buy Tickets Online
Athletic events are cashless for the 2026–2027 school year. Fans may conveniently purchase tickets in advance by downloading the HomeTown Fan app. Tickets may also be purchased online through the Corpus Christi ISD Athletics website or by using QR codes at each venue. Processing fees apply.
Clear Bag Policy
For the safety of our students and visitors, clear bags are required for events at CCISD stadiums, high schools and middle schools. Approved items are a clear plastic tote measuring no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, a small clutch approximately the size of a hand with or without a handle or strap measuring no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, or a one-gallon resealable clear plastic storage bag.

Special Education Services
CCISD employs an educational process that links students to various support options, including but not limited to a referral for a special education evaluation. If a student is experiencing learning difficulties in a general education classroom, parents and guardians may contact the school principal to learn about the district’s support services. Parents or guardians of students currently receiving special education services and need assistance resolving concerns should contact:

Parents and guardians may also contact the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to request voluntary mediation, file a complaint, or file a request for a due process hearing before an impartial hearing officer. Before filing a request for a hearing, confidential mediation may be scheduled at no cost to you.

Fine Arts
To ignite creativity and foster a deep appreciation for the arts, our engaging curriculum helps students enhance their imagination, spatial reasoning and complex problem-solving skills. Bilingual Education
English as a Second Language (ESL) is a pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade model that uses strategies to teach English to students who speak languages other than Spanish or English. Bilingual Spanish Education Program offers full-time instruction in both Spanish and English to teach the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. CCISD’s bilingual program model is transitional. Students are prepared to be successful in English-only instruction between two and five years after the student enrolls. Questions?
