Carroll High School teacher named H-E-B Excellence in Education finalist
A team of H-E-B Excellence in Education officials along with district administration rushed into Deanna Evans’ classroom Monday. This visit came with good news. Ms. Evans had been named a finalist in the H-E-B Excellence in Education Finalist in the Rising Star Secondary category.
Evans, a special education teacher at Carroll High School, was also surprised with a $1,000 reward for the finalist designation. The money will go toward a sensory hallway for the campus, she said after the surprise.
Winners will be announced in May. Congratulations, Ms. Evans!
Electronic W-2 forms available
Electronic copies of 2025 W-2 forms are available on Employee Online. You may access the form via Connect.ccisd.us, using the same process you follow to retrieve your employee pay stub.

• Under “Tax Forms” column, click on “W-2”
In this section you will find your current W-2 along with those from previous years.
H.R. 1 (called the “One Big Beautiful Bill”) created a rule “No Tax on Overtime” that let’s workers deduct some of their overtime pay from their taxes. This amount will be listed on your 2025 W-2 form in Box 14 as “OT”. If you have any questions, please contact the Payroll Department at 6957339 or payroll@ccisd.us.

Baker Middle School educator honored as Teacher of the Month
Laura Timmons was recently honored as Teacher of the Month at a recent City of Corpus Christi City Council meeting!
Ms. Timmons is in her third year at Baker Middle School, where she brings history to life, helping students connect the past to their future. She leads with compassion, service, and a commitment to student success. Congratulations, Ms. Timmons!

Resident teachers commit to CCISD
Several classrooms, and an outdoor track, were filled with excitement when CCISD resident teachers were presented with official letters of commitment to join the CCISD team upon completion of their teaching certications.
The resident teachers have been at their respective campuses since the first day of school, and will finish out the school year at those same campuses. Resident teachers have the opportunity to learn all about the district before they return as certified teachers with their very own classrooms, said Diana Ybarra, district Recruitment and Retention Coordinator.
Those offered letters of commitment included Emily Arnold, Alexandria Del Bosque, Clarissa Elizondo, Isabella Freeman, Kimberly Garza, Alyssa Gray, Sloan Lindemann, Jocelyn Massey, John Medina, and Kaitlyn Nelson. Congratulations!
