Travellers planning a welldeserved holiday are often frustrated when, after a couple of price checks on the Internet, they start to notice how flight ticket and apartment booking quotes take an upward trend.

Intuitively unfair, the concept of price discrimination (if not based on race, religion or national origin) is legal and can take many forms.

Its general principle is that potential customers get to see different prices of the same product or service based on their willingness to pay as perceived by the seller.

“Many online retailers use special algorithms to create an illusion of high demand and an increasing price. Let’s say, the quotes for all the hotel rooms you checked yesterday have increased only to encourage you to make a fast decision to book,” explains Naomi Hodges, cybersecurity advisor at Surfshark.

2) Turn on a virtual private network (VPN) app. This trick can help you change your location by giving you a different IP address. Pretend that you are in another country. Check different countries to see how people there are charged.

3) Turn on Incognito Mode (Chrome), Private Mode (Safari) or Private Window (Firefox) in our browser. This step will allow us to browse cookie-less.

4) Check the prices using a different desktop and mobile device.

5) Change the top-level domain (.com, co.uk, .fr, .net) to a different one.

New Cuba travel restrictions for US citizens New, extensive restrictions on travel to Cuba have been announced for United States citizens - effectively banning most educational and recreational travel.

The Treasury Department said in a statement that the US will no longer allow educational and cultural trips known as “peopleto-people” travel to the island.

Those trips have been used by thousands of American citizens to visit the island.

Treasury said it would also deny permission for private and corporate aircraft and boats.

However, commercial airline flights appear to be unaffected

Transplant travel – at best questionable, at worst murder transplant tourism refers to “overseas transplantation in which a patient obtains an organ through the organ trade or other means.”

When the alternative is to get an organ or die, sadly it’s human nature that some people are sufficiently desperate to become a transplant tourist - regardless of the desired outcome is legal, questionable or even murder.

The concept of transplant tourism is confusing and vague.

People tend to travel for transplantation, either because it is not available in their home countries or there are not enough organs available.

Exports from international tourism hit $1.7 trillion Exports generated by international tourism reached USD1.7 trillion in 2018, a 4 percent increase in real terms over the previous year, a new report from the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) shows.

For the seventh year in a row, tourism exports grew faster than merchandise exports (+3 percent), reflecting solid demand for international travel in a generally robust economic environment.

A total USD1.7 trillion accounts for 29 percent of global service exports and 7 percent of overall exports of goods and services.

Total exports from international tourism include USD1448 billion in international tourism receipts (visitor spending in destinations) and USD256 billion in international passenger transport services.

Tourism constitutes a key source

of foreign exchange and a major tool for export diversification for many destinations.

By regions, Asia and the Pacific led the way with 7 percent growth in international tourism receipts, followed by Europe with a 5 percent increase. The Middle East saw 3 percent growth, while Africa (+1 percent) and the Americas (0 percent) recorded more modest results. Central and Eastern Europe and North-East Asia (both +9 percent) were the sub regions with the strongest growth.

China, the world’s top spender reported USD277 billion in international tourism expenditure in 2018, a 5 percent increase in real terms from a year earlier, while the United States, the second largest, spent 7 percent more, to reach USD144 billion.

Independent security audit follows Sir Lanka’s Easter Sunday attacks

Sri Lanka’s State Minister Harsha de Silva announced that the country is planning an independent security audit to build confidence among travellers.

According to the Minister, the measure was necessary after extremists linked to Islamic State bombed churches and hotels on Easter Sunday.

“After conducting an independent security audit, embassies and tourist boards of foreign countries will encourage tourism,” he told parliament.

“Spending millions on advertising is worthless if we cannot be responsible for tourist safety.”

Hilton’s brand portfolio overtakes Marriott’s as world’s most valuable “Hilton’s strategic approach to brand growth has allowed it to extend its lead as the world’s most valuable hotel brand,” said Savio D’Souza, valuation director at Brand Finance.

Hilton has extended its lead as the world’s most valuable hotel brand while the total value of its brand portfolio within the Brand Finance Hotels 50 ranking has overtaken Marriott’s, according to the latest report by Brand Finance, an independent brand valuation consultancy.

Hilton’s brand value growth (up 17 percent to US$7.4 billion) was largely driven by strong revenue increase over the last year, cementing the brand’s leadership position in the industry.

Meanwhile, Marriott suffered a reduction in brand value (down 8 percent to US$5 billion) and its brand strength dropped from AAA- to AA+.

Marriott has faced several challenges in the North American market from hacking scandals to persistent problems with its loyalty schemes.

At the same time, the combined value of Marriott’s brands within the Brand Finance Hotels 50

ranking decreased by 30 percent, giving way to Hilton’s brand portfolio to claim the title of the world’s most valuable.

“Hilton’s strategic approach to brand growth has allowed it to extend its lead as the world’s most valuable hotel brand,” said Savio D’Souza, valuation director at Brand Finance.

At the same time, endorsement from the flagship brand has rendered benefits across the portfolio as Homewood Suites, Double Tree, and Hampton have seen their brand values soar.

The combined value of all Hilton brands which made this year’s top 50 ranking amounts to US$14.7 billion - nearly US$2 billion more than Marriott’s US$12.9 billion portfolio.

Hilton Worldwide Holdings achieved overall brand value growth of 41 percent, a stark contrast with the Marriott International brand portfolio decreasing by 30 percent.

Hilton’s brand value in the top 50 ranking is concentrated across six brands, up from five in 2018, all strongly leveraging the Hilton brand name and each recording solid growth this year.

Marriott has not fared so well, with four of its brands dropping out of the Brand Finance Hotel 50 ranking this year.

With one new entrant, Marriott now has 12 brands in the ranking, many of which have nevertheless decreased in value.

Marriott’s recent announcement of entering the home-rental market, however, is a promising move to take back market share from Airbnb and could contribute to an uplift in brand value in the coming year.

The Hilton and Marriott portfolios remain well ahead of third-ranked Wyndham, which also suffered a drop of 8 percent in brand value to US$7.3 billion.

Russian Helicopters says it is “seriously” considering entering the air taxi market, as air taxi services promise to become an everyday reality soon.

2025, “but preparations should start now. We view this market very seriously.”

The VRT 500 is a lightweight coaxial-type helicopter project

by Russian Helicopters. Its takeoff weight is 1.6 tonnes.

The helicopter was first announced in 2007, with a mockup presented 10 years later at the MAKS airshow.

The first flight of the VRT 500 is scheduled for 2020 and the serial production is planned to start in 2022. About a thousand units were expected to be sold by 2035.

IATA downgrades aviation outlook citing higher fuel cost & weaker trade The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced a downgrade of its 2019 outlook for the global air transport industry to a $28 billion profit (from $35.5 billion forecasts in December 2018). That is also a decline on 2018 net post-tax profits that IATA estimates at $30 billion.

The business environment for airlines has deteriorated with rising fuel prices and a substantial weakening of world trade.

In 2019 overall costs are expected to grow by 7.4 percent, outpacing a 6.5 percent rise in revenues. As a result, net margins are expected to be squeezed to 3.2 percent (from 3.7 percent in 2018).

Profit per passenger will similarly decline to $6.12 (from $6.85 in 2018).

“This year will be the tenth consecutive year in the black for

the airline industry. But margins are being squeezed by rising costs right across the board - including labour, fuel, and infrastructure.

Stiff competition among airlines keeps yields from rising.

Weakening of global trade is likely to continue as the USChina trade war intensifies. This primarily impacts the cargo business, but passenger traffic could also be impacted as tensions rise.

Airlines will still turn a profit this year, but there is no easy money to be made,” said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s director general and CEO. In 2019, the return on invested capital earned from airlines is expected to be 7.4 percent (down from 7.9 percent in 2018). While this still exceeds the average cost of capital (estimated at 7.3 percent),

the buffer is extremely thin.

Moreover, the job of spreading financial resilience throughout the industry is only half complete with a major gap in profitability between the performance of airlines in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific and the performance of those in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

“The good news is that airlines have broken the boom-and-bust cycle. A downturn in the trading environment no longer plunges the industry into a deep crisis.

But under current circumstances, the great achievement of the industry - creating value for investors with normal levels of profitability is at risk.

Airlines will still create value for investors in 2019 with above cost-of-capital returns, but only just,” said de Juniac.

Athens to Dubrovnik with Aegean & Olympic Air Flight A3784 is just a one hour, 15 minute hop from Athens to Dubrovnik aboard an Airbus A320.

This was a great flight. I would rate Aegean cabin crew among the best I have encountered. I look forward to flying with them in the future.

There does not seem to be a business section on this aircraft. However we enjoy extra leg room in the emergency exit row for an additional cost of 15 Euro.

The seats are comfortable and had plenty of leg room as advertised.

The entertainment on this short flight consisted of the fly smart Blue magazine of Aegean and Olympic Air. The magazine is quite substantial with more than 300 pages of reading.

Tea, coffee and water are offered, along with beer, red or white wine. I opt for the white wine, a Greek dry white delivered in glass bottles - a very nice little drop by the name of Agrimi. For those flying Aegean it is worth trying.

The meal is all that’s needed for such a short flight a ham and cheese filled roll and a chocolate bar.

Our departure time is scheduled for 1pm but the actual time leaving the gate is 1.40 pm. We arrive 25 minutes later than the advertised time.

The cabin service is efficient and the crew delightful, everything was done with a smile. Although the

aircraft was not full, offering a full service on a short flight like this must be demanding.

We use the Aegean Business Class lounge. As Aegean Airlines is part of the Star Alliance network, we have reciprocal rights.

The lounge is well equiped with a good range of cold meats, cheese, salads and sandwiches, the only hot dish being vegetable soup. A large range of beverages are also available, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The lounge is airy and spacious with comfortable seating - a nice oasis in the middle of a very busy Athens airport.

This was a very strange flight, as we were booked on a Dash 8/400 aircraft of Olympic Air but when we were driven by bus out to our aircraft we find we are boarding an Aegean Airlines A320 and the flight time has changed from one hour 40 minutes to one hour 15 minutes.

This was a great flight. I would rate Aegean cabin crew among the best I have encountered. I look forward to flying with them in the future.

Singapore - Jakarta - long-haul service on a short-haul Although less than a two-hour flight, Singapore Airlines SQ 960 provides us with a full long-haul level of service.

My seat is 12B, in the first row of Business Class. The seat is huge with plenty of space to stretch out, and more than enough room for your laptop, or other travel essentials.

Singapore Airlines have 32 Boeing 777-300s in their fleet, with seating for up to 284 passengers. The airline’s total fleet numbers 124, with an average age of approximately six and a half years.

My seat is 12B, in the first row of Business Class. The seat is huge with plenty of space to stretch out, and more than enough room for your laptop, or other travel essentials.

I take a quick look at the entertainment and it seams pretty comprehensive, but with a flight time of only one and thee quarter hours and a full meal service this leaves little spare time to explore.

Before take off we were offered champagne, orange juice or water. During meal service a full complimentary bar is offered, along with tea and coffee.

I choose the Seared Tournedos of Beef in Mushroom Jus served with green beans, carrot, cherry tomato and mashed potatoes. Other mains on offer are Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts in Szechuan Chili Sauce or Singapore Nadi Lemak, followed by a dessert of Roasted Nut Praline Cake. The meal is accompanied with assorted gourmet rolls and breads.

We leave at 3.15, right on time, and are just a few minutes late upon arrival.

The cabin service is trademark Singapore Airlines superb. On this very short flight time a full meal and drinks service is provided with great efficiency and always a smile.

We make use of the Singapore Airlines Lounge at Terminal two. Although it is mid afternoon there were at least eight hot dishes on offer and a good range of salads, cheese, crackers and a range of snacks. The open bar has a great range of premium spirits and snacks and a limited range of wines.

There is plenty of seating available and the range of magazines is quite impressive. This lounge, although large, still has plenty of small, private spaces for those who want to get out of the larger environment.

Although this flight was only one and three quarter hours long and could be deemed to be short haul, we’d be convinced by the service and full meal offered that we were on a long haul international flight.

Singapore Airlines certainly lived up to its reputation.

Just when we think we know Malaysia, we discover a new layer. Then another, and so on. Those who presume Malaysia’s strengths are limited to its legendary cuisine, shopping, wildlife adventures and unique mixture of cultures are in for a huge and pleasant surprise.

With visions of adventures with the orangutans in Borneo, five-star hospitality and tropical warmth, we require no cajoling to escape winter’s fireside.

We grab passport and bags in record time after accepting an invitation to return to prepare Corporate Traveller’s second “Focus on Malaysia” edition.

It’s a chilly calm, winter’s evening in Auckland as we slip away into the ether. Some frantic pre-journey activity means sleep comes easily on this smooth magic carpet ride toward Kuala Lumpur.

We wake to a few turbulence rattles but soon it’s touchdown, a balmy 27C and just after 6am.

The airport is relatively quiet as we board a minibus for the hour-long ride to the Park Royal in the hub of KL. This is like any other motorway ride from aerodrome to downtown but for the entertaining charge of the motorcycle light brigade along their thin ribbon of runway at the edge of the highway.

With jackets worn backwards against the apparent wind, they certainly make fun of the stalled and impotent four-wheel traffic.

At the Park Royal we’re met by well drilled organisers of the Mega FAM. This four-day adventure introduces media from around the world to the delights of Malaysia. As we wait for our rooms to become available, organisers ensure we know what is coming up.

Our patient guide Jean Ooi waits in the lobby and just as soon as our room is available and we can shed clothes we’ve worn and slept in for the last 20 hours, it’s time to refresh and hit the streets of KL. There’s a youthful energy to accompany the humid warmth and occasional drizzle as we explore the CBD’s shopping havens. We dive in and grab a few items either forgotten or needed, a razor, a new notebook, a couple of summer shirts for the formal seminar ahead, and a local SIM card to avoid nasty roaming charges.

By mid afternoon we are fading and suggest to Jean we might enjoy an early dinner. It’s 3pm in KL but our rationale converts this to 7pm Kiwi time.

FOOD COURT’S THREE-GENERATION RULE Jean takes us to the Hutong Food Court, found below the Lot 100 Shopping Complex. Now this is a food court par excellence - the complex owner Francis Yeoh decreeing that only food stalls that have operated for at least three generations can set up here, serving their own signature dishes. As well, at least one member of the family must be present at all times to oversee quality.

The landlord’s goal was to achieve the very best street food - but in a comfortable environment, indoors, with air conditioning. On a scorching KL day who is going to argue with that logic?

Extraordinary, just as intended. Our shared lunch includes noodles from Kim Lian Kee and an equally delicious chicken and rice concoction that Jean appears with from the other end of the food court.

A dash into Kuala Lumpur’s CBD shopping is always a rewarding adventure. Shopping is near the top of the list for anyone visiting KL, the prices and the quality are always sensational.

HAMMING IT UP – 430 metres above the street Here we are invited to stand in a glass box dangled 430 metres above the streets of KL. A photographer incites us to ham it up a bit - with impressions of falling through space.

From the toe-tingling sensation of standing on glass so high in the sky, our next, far less nerve-racking challenge is lunch at the tower’s revolving restaurant.

In the afternoon we register for the Mega FAM and learn of Malaysia’s plans to attract 30 million visitors next year with a spend exceeding RM100 billion (US24 billion), Last year Malaysia attracted 25.8 million visitors, the 15th most popular country in the world.

In the afternoon the media guests are put to work at the rewang (community preparation) for the Eid-Fitr Open House Celebration, the occasion that marks the end of Ramadan. This family fun occasion is made even more amusing at our attempts to weave and to assist in food preparation.

EID-FITR OPEN HOUSE CELEBRATION The morning highlight is a visit to the Malaysia Cartoon and comic House, a museum for the nation’s cartoons, caricatures and comics. The museum contains more than 500 pieces produced by 50 local artists from the early 1930s.

Then, in the grounds of the Royal Museum, the former Royal Palace, we enjoy spectacular traditional song and dance honouring the Eid-Fitr Open House Celebration.

The festive mood, on a gorgeous tropical afternoon, is accompanied by a sumptuous range of Malaysia foods.

With the Mega Fam completed, we leave KL for Penang, once described as the “Pearl of the Orient.”

Here we are met by the irrepressible Philip. “It’s spelt with one ‘L’ - just like the prince. In other words you are being driven by Prince Philip.”

We explain we’d rather not, based on the recent driving record of Prince Philip.

We check into the Park Royal, a beach resort on the South China Sea. The view from the room is of pools, parasailing and jet skis. But here the package comes with a special twist - the novel Penang culture and cuisine.

BOULDER VALLEY LUXURY TENTED CAMP

Philip with one “L” launches his patter with the pronouncement that he and his wife comprise the perfect team as she loves cooking and he loves eating.

He tells us it’s the durian season and this stinky fruit - banned from all hotels - is such a delicacy that special flights are organised from China for durian lovers.

“It’s an acquired taste. You either love it or hate it.”

This afternoon we follow the colonial Brit rulers for the cooler climes at the top of Penang Hill. The steep funicular railway to the summit seems well linked to the 19th century British Empire with ironwork and rivets, ingenuous engineering - all brought together by back-breaking manual work, doubtless by indigenous inhabitants.

First on the agenda today is Boulder Valley, a luxury tented camp based on health and wellness. The camp is owned by Dr Lim Slow Jin, owner of DXN health products.

The British governor fled to the top of Penang Hill for the more comfortable temperatures. His mansion is still there, along with a convalescence hospital intended to assist the colonials back to health after acquiring some damned deadly tropical disease.

The ruling class arrogance is illustrated in photos showing the English rulers being carried up the steep hill to the mansion in “sedan chairs.”

A recent landslide at the rear of the mansion reveals more of the colonial lifestyle - a treasure of glass bottles. While some are medicines the majority are alcohol - the tipple of choice being gin.

We are met by Amy, head of the resort, a natural healer, acupuncturist and entertaining guide as we wander around the five hectare property with its 25 tents perched amongst the lush vegetation and spectacular boulders that are strewn like giant bowling balls around the property.

On the return trip we visit Entopia, a spectacular nature butterfly farm that combines large, realistic displays of wildlife with educational entertainment for kids and their parents.

TREETOP ADVENTURE WITH HABITAT At the summit we meet Natasha, marketing manager for Habitat, operating a treetop adrenaline adventure featuring five flying foxes (apparently also known as ziplines), a swaying rope bridge and an abseil descent.

We cross a fair distance Tarzan-style before returning to earth. The journey is both exciting and educational as the guides talk to us about each tree that hosts our journey, along with details of taking care of the surrounding forest.

Without the grace of the orangutans or the panache of Tarzan we nonetheless swing from tree to tree. Two primary boys from Singapore provide humour to our group with their pronouncement that the flying fox harnesses are “hurting my private parts.”

GEORGE TOWN AND HARMONY STREET This morning we revisit George Town, a highlight of a previous visit. We return to well-named Harmony Street where worship houses of a handful of religions have stood side by side in complete harmony for hundreds of years.

We enjoy George Town’s street art all over again before visiting Peranakan Mansion for a fascinating insight into the life and legacy of the Chinese secret society tyrant Chung Ken Quee.

Museum director, Lillian Tong, is an expert on the era and observes: “If you want to see China 50 years ago, go to Taiwan. If you want to see China 100 years ago, go to Hong Kong. If you want to see China 200 years ago, come to Penang.”

The complicated business of being born, growing up, marrying and dying is recorded here in meticulous detail. Tong explains how the in-laws of a prospective bride would judge her needlework, any short cuts a clear defect of character. Beneath the couch is a basket containing a rooster and a chicken. Whichever left the basket first, indicated the sex of the newlyweds’ baby.

The mansion takes visitors on a fascinating time travel, the exhibits including intricate carvings, embroidery and mother of pearl inlays.

BORNEO AWAITS Next is a day of travel. We farewell fascinating Penang for the flight to Borneo, via Kuala Lumpur.

This takes us from peninsula Malaysia to the island of Borneo, Sabah being a state in the north of the island.

The alarm jolts us from sleep at 4.15am next morning in the Sabah capital of Kota Kinabalu. Our transport today is boat, leaving from the Sandakan Yacht Club for the three-hour journey to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

First, we cross a wide, calm bay to the mouth of the Kinabatangan River. The twin Yamaha 200hp outboards hum us into a tropical stupor as we churn inland along this mud-brown waterway. Fellow passengers doze or attempt sleep as the jungle rushes by in scenes that would provide a perfect backdrop for a Rambo rescue.

Eventually we tie up at the lodge where a fleet of riverboats is neatly lined up beneath the main dining deck, testament to the main mode of transport in this equatorial water world.

MONKEY MISCHIEF

BACK TO THE ASPHALT RIVER

A knock at the door at 5am and it’s back to the boats.

We may be bleary eyed and in need of caffeine but our fellow jungle inhabitants are well and truly wide away and full of mischief.

After two spectacular nights at this unique and remote jungle setting it is time to return to the outside world. This time our boat journey is a short one, a few hundred metres down river to a road connection on the far side of the Kinabatangan.

Proboscis monkeys announce their presence with a dramatic rustling of branches and trees. Sometimes it’s the young at play but, more dramatically, it’s dominant males demonstrating their masculinity to ward off any pretenders to their harem.

Our guide, Rahman Bin Mandu, is a wildlife encyclopedia. With his eagle eye he points us to many other monkey species as well as birdlife in the trees, even the trail of a snake making its way upriver.

A planned afternoon hike from the lodge in search of orangutan proves unnecessary as a group turns up in trees almost directly overhead from our planned departure point at the lodge.

Now this is a jungle expedition in comfort. We are able to lie back on poolside deck chairs with camera pointed aloft as a mum and baby cuddle and play in the branches above.

A rain deluge floods across the windscreen as we splash along a newly sealed road, more akin to the river we have just departed.

After three days in our jungle wonderland it’s something of a novelty to be following this river of asphalt.

BRUTAL DEATH MARCHES At Sandakan we learn of the town’s brutal Japanese occupation during the Second World War, in particular the callous “death marches” of British and Australian POWs. As the allies bombed the town and Japanese positions, the guards decided there should be no prisoner survivors who might bear witness to the atrocities committed here.

Yet, while hundreds were murdered by either being shot or walked to death in the jungle, a handful did survive and it was their accounts that threw light on the cruelty that once pervaded this picturesque settlement.

GAYA ST SUNDAY MARKET In a rare moment of luxury, our start today is at 9am.

We explore the possibility of breakfast at the resort but long queues sent us fleeing for the presence of street food.

At Gaya St Sunday Market the numbers are even greater than the solemn resort breakfast queue, but here the mood is relaxed and cheerful.

Fresh foods, exotic fruits, street performances and tacky souvenirs, antiques, knock-off watches, handbags and T-shirts all vie for our attention.

Another fascinating visit is to the colonial home of American author, Agnes Keith, and her British husband.

She survived internment by the Japanese and later published books about her much-loved Borneo, the best-known being “Island beneath the wind.�

Next we climb to the majestic perch of the Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, a massive and lavish place of worship overlooking Sandakan town and harbour.

A list of donors who contributed to this spectacular temple is listed, including a 1930s donation of US$200,000, gifted by a wealthy trading company.

The day ends at Sutera Harbour back in Kota Kinabalu with a hot equatorial sunset flooding into our west-facing hotel room.

We break our fast at a traditional street cafe, Malaysian style before returning to the hotel for an evening harbour sunset cruise.

Bobby and Georgina from Sabah Tourism join us for this cruise with Borneo Cruises aboard a modern three-deck catamaran. While cloud spoils a perfect sunset few even notice as the lively band keep the party rocking. The ship is new, the staff very helpful, the cuisine spectacular in both quantity and quality.

Guests can choose to wander to the top deck for elevated views or head for the dance floor in front of the band stage. The night ends along a sparkly foreshore with a group of Korean women dancing their hearts out to Gangnam Style.

SWIMMING POOL WORLD RECORD We find out way back to Kuala Lumpur on the last lap of our Malaysian adventure. At KL airport we are met by a driver from Lexis Hibiscus Resort for the onehour drive to Port Dickson.

Communications manager at the Lexis Hibiscus, Nabil Jamil, greets us and along the buggy ride to our over-water room proudly explains that the resort has the Guinness World Record for the number of over-water suites as well as he number of swimming pools - there being 522 villas over the water and a staggering 643 pools. There are another 117 guest rooms in the main hotel tower.

At LexSpa, we learn about the unique treatment developed by Malaysian, Dr Baskaran. This combines Chinese, Indian and Malay techniques. As willing volunteers, we emerge astounded after one of the most relaxing, recharging experiences of a lifetime.

The sun has gone down by the time we leave the spa - and what a sight. The resort’s main building is lit up like a giant jukebox, the sprawling over water complex extending 1.2 kilometres out from the beach.

From our viewpoint, this extraordinary image appears more akin to a cruise ship that has run aground in Las Vegas.

It has been designed largely for the Chinese market with karaoke and Chinese cuisine clear favourites.

Dining options are a highlight. We enjoy the UMI Japanese Restaurant, the Lighthouse Club, the Roselle Coffee House and the Coralz Bistro without coming close to experiencing all that the resort has to offer.

Guests can also indulge themselves at the Yuan Chinese Restaurant.

The Lexis Hibiscus is also well prepared for Business Events. The Hibiscus Grand Ballroom has seating capacity for up to 700 threatre-style, a dramatic setting with its seven-metre ceiling height. As well as the ballroom being able to be partitioned, there are many other meeting place options.

VIEW OUT TO STRAITS OF MALACCA Nasil explains that Lexis has three properties at Port Dickson - the four-star Lexis Port Dickson, where it all began for this Malaysian company, the five-star Grand Lexis and the behemoth - Lexis Hibiscus.

Along the way home, we defy the edict that only “mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun� and make the steep, sweaty climb to the Port Dickson lighthouse for an elevated view of the Malacca Straits.

A tour of all three properties reveals a clear progression. While there is a common theme in terms in terms of branding, there is a huge contrast in the transition from the first hotel with its dark Balinese-style timbers to the ultra-modern, bright and garish Hibiscus.

The descent is pleasant, with some shade and birdsong, although Nasil moves quickly when he spots a large lizard watching us from the shadows.

My suggestion that it might be a Komodo dragon that has swum across the strait from Indonesia fails to improve his confidence.

CT: What are the latest in visitor numbers, and spend, showing the increases, and how visitor spend is increasing in importance for Malaysia?

How does tourism rank in importance to the Malaysian economy?

“The nation’s tourism industry recorded a positive tourist arrivals growth of +4.8 percent for the January-May 2019 period, registering a total of 10,954,014 tourist arrivals compared to 10,454,447 in the same period last year.

“Tourist expenditure in the first quarter of increase of +16.9 percent to reach RM21.4 billion compared to RM18.3 billion in 2018. Per capita expenditure also showed a hike of +13.8 percent from RM2,813.1 in 2018 to RM3,201.8 in 2019.

“Shopping remained the biggest component of tourist expenditure, followed by accommodation and food and beverages.

“Tourism is one of the most important sectors to ensure the country’s economic and service sector growth. It is not only able to generate income but also able to provide many jobs for the people in the country. In 2017, this industry contributed 14.9 percent to the national economy compared to 10.4 percent in 2005. Meanwhile, the number of employees engaged in the tourism industry had

also increased to 3.4 million in 2017 from 1.5 million in 2005. The number of people employed in the tourism industry make up 23.2 percent of the total labour force.

CT: What is unique that Malaysia can offer for both business and leisure travellers?

CT: What are the most significant challenges to increasing visitor numbers - and how are these being addressed?

“Increasing flight connectivity from other destinations to Malaysia is one of the initiatives to boost arrivals into Malaysia and meet the campaign targets. If we have better air accessibility connecting other cities with Malaysia, we will be able to receive many more tourists. As such, we need to connect and reach out to ‘high yield’ markets that are Malaysia’s target market for this campaign, namely ASEAN, China, India, United Kingdom, Germany and Middle East Countries.

“With the new Sharjah-Kuala Lumpur route by low-cost airline Air Arabia, there is also opportunity to further tap into markets such as United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, Iran and Iraq. Furthermore, Sharjah can act as a feeder hub for travellers from Central Asia to Malaysia “With the Prime Minister of Malaysia endorsing the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, we are confident of moving forward provided there is better allocation for

CT: The source of visitors is clearly evolving in new directions. Can you quantify the trends and how Tourism Malaysia is working to both inspire and to meet the challenges?

“Up to Q1 2019, we see the double-digit growth in tourism expenditure at 16.9 percent which totalled to RM21.4 billion in tourist dollar. The growth is an indication to focus on tourist expenditure, especially in the upcoming campaign of Visit Malaysia 2020 that targets RM100 billion in tourist expenditure with 30 million tourist arrivals. Tourist arrivals are still very important to Malaysia because numbers drive the revenue.

“ASEAN countries contribute more than 60 percent to total tourist arrivals to Malaysia. Medium and longhaul markets are also growing due to various efforts

CT: What do you see as Malaysia’s strengths in attracting visitors?

“What makes Malaysia special is the diversity of the country and its culture, the basis for our tagline ‘Malaysia Truly Asia.’ No other country has Asia’s three major races - Malay, Chinese, Indian - plus other ethnic groups in one destination in such large numbers as Malaysia. Based on this premise, only Malaysia can claim to the fact that its multi-racial society embodies the widest and the most colourful range in the whole of Asia.

“One can enjoy beach life in Penang, the fabulous landscape in the Cameron Highlands, the culture of Sarawak, the booming metropolis and modern shopping and tourist haven in KL. Some of the international theme parks such as Legoland are located in Johor Bahru. We also offer some luxurious holiday experiences for our visitors.

“Malaysia has valuable natural tourist assets million-year-old rainforests, islands and beaches, rivers and lakes. The UNESCO heritage status given to Malaysia is very important.

Tourists from bordering countries namely Singapore, Thailand, Brunei decreased -1.7 percent in terms of land arrivals due to market stagnation and border crossing congestion. Meanwhile, air arrivals portion increased +8.2 percent, in tandem with the increase of +1.4 percent in flight seats capacity to Malaysia for Q1 2019. The air arrivals increase was notably from medium haul and long haul markets.

CT: Clearly there has been significant investment into the tourism infrastructure.

Can you quantify this?

“The Government has also invested in developing our tourism sector by reintroducing the Tourism Fund for the development of tourism industry services.

The government has allocated a fund of RM1 billion through this Tourism Infrastructure Fund. New tourism investments have materialised in the form of newly launched attractions such as Desaru Coast and Encore Melaka.

CT: How is Malaysia striking a balance between tourism expansion and ecological and cultural values?

“We have formulated the National Ecotourism Plan 2016-2025 as part of the sustainable tourism development and uphold the principle that ‘tourism protects, preserves, and conserves Mother Nature, culture and heritage.’ This plan embodies the spirit of the theme - uplifting communities, opportunities and economies. This theme focuses on the outputs, outcomes and benefits of ecotourism, which is the left-hand side of the equation. More importantly, the right-hand side variables involving the inputs of responsible tourism and sustainable development policy and practice are accorded due priority in the plan.

“Tourism has brought wealth to forgotten rural communities, cushioned the blow of financial crashes, conserved critically endangered species and restored crumbling historic cities. However, the surge in tourist numbers also brought along various negative impacts and one of it is ‘over tourism’ where too many tourists in a particular destination will lead to among others, narrow roads become jammed, wildlife is scared away and fragile environments become degraded.

CT: What are the main misconceptions people may have about Malaysia - and what is being done to counter this?

“Malaysia is a generally a safe country to travel in and compared with Indonesia or Thailand, it’s extremely safe. Theft and violence are not particularly common, although it pays to keep a close eye on your belongings, especially your travel documents (passport, traveller’s cheques etc), which should be kept with you at all times.

“Malaysia is officially a Muslim country, with the majority of its population being of Islamic faith.

People might think the population doesn’t drink and holds a set of beliefs regarding social custom that may seem conservative to some foreigners. But, believe it or not, there are cities in Malaysia with clubs, bars and restaurants, some of which are geared to cater for international guests.”

CT: Going forward 10 years - where do you see Malaysia? Will tourism still be a dominant player perhaps even more so than today?

“We hope that the growth in tourism for Malaysia continues well in the years to come. UNWTO forecasted about 1.8 billion tourist movements around the world, and of that 58 percent of the inbound tourists will be to emerging economy destinations that includes Asia, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Eastern Mediterranean Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“The government is also putting emphasis in tourism by sanctioning the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign and making it a national agenda, where all the ministries are to play a role in ensuring the success of the campaign and achieving RM100 billion tourist expenditure and 30 million tourist arrivals target.

“Tourism Malaysia together with Malaysia Airport Berhad and various airline partners are working on various initiatives to bring in more international airlines to our shore and increase seats capacity to Malaysia.

“We hope that tourism will still be a main player even in the years to come as the impact on tourism is important to Malaysia.”

Twice a week, the oldest running steam train, the North Borneo Railway (NBR) travels more than 60 kilometres into Papar, the interior of Sabah.

Established in 1896 by the British North Borneo Chartered Company, the train was originally intended to transport tobacco from the interior for export. Today, the railway is mostly used to create an opportunity to experience the bygone era of the colonial era.

At nearly 4000 metres, Mount Kinabalu located at Kinabalu Park is still a favourite among visitors. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is open every day for trekkers. Hiking to the peak is encouraged but advance booking for mountain activities is advised as it is limited to only 130 climbers per day. Extreme adventurers can trek to the top of the three highest mountains in Malaysia - all located in Sabah, namely, Mt Kinabalu, Mt Trusmadi (2642 metres) and Mt Tambayukon (2579 metres).

Sporting and adventure events are mushrooming around Sabah attracting those with a competitive edge, a taste of the Bornean thrill. Race courses in the hilly interior are designed to especially reward participants with beautiful raw views that can’t be seen from sitting inside a tour bus. Every year up to a thousand people participate in 50 kms, 100 kms, even 250 kms running events for bragging rights such at The Most Beautiful Thing (TMBT) Ultra Trail Marathon, Borneo Ultra Trail Marathon, and mountain bike races.

Of course, there are gentler activities. Sabah is also a bird-watching destination for the Asia Pacific region.

Out of 688 resident and migratory species that flock into Sabah, 54 are endemic to Borneo. The Bornean Bristlehead, according to avid birders, is a rare and elusive species and only found in lowland forest of Borneo. Its black, fiery red and bright yellow head is highly recognisable but yet, difficult to spot in the wild. There is a Borneo Bird Fest held every year in Sabah held either at the Kinabalu Park or the East Coast in Sandakan.

Sandakan is the wildlife capital for Sabah. The familiar orangutan at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Sanctuary is an experience that should not be missed. Here visitors can view, from a platform, how rescued orangutans are nursed and released back into the wild. Next to it, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre nurses adorable sun bears. The Rainforest Discovery Centre located within the vicinity has a long canopy walkway for an opportunity to sight 250 species of birds and the one of the few places to see the Giant Red Flying Squirrel.

Sabah is gifted with a long coastline with stretches

of white sandy beaches and turquoise crystal clear water and hundreds of islands. These islands are well known for scuba diving, water sports, snorkelling or just plain relaxing. Some have planned destination weddings by the beaches, against a backdrop fiery sunsets. Many of Sabah’s beaches remain undiscovered by tourism.

Diving is a major market for Sabah, the jewel Sipadan Island being one of the top-rated dive spots in the world. At nearby islands such as Mabul, Kapalai, Mataking and Pom Pom islands, large marine life and tiny sea creatures and colourful corals and reef are guaranteed sighting. At the islands, high to medium range resort facilities await.

More than 90 percent of Sabah’s arrivals come by air. Presently Sabah enjoys more than 220 direct international flights weekly that connects its capital, Kota Kinabalu, to major airports in Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Busan, Muan and Daegu (Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Kunming, Chengdu, Fuzhou, Macau, Tianjin and Xiamen (China), Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Perth (Australia), Taipei (Taiwan), Manila (the Philippines) and Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei).

Hotel and resort chains enjoy a vibrant business in Sabah. There are more than 30,000 rooms available in total with more than 3500 rooms in 5-star facilities located throughout the city, coastal areas as well as in the heart of the Bornean rainforest. The top choice Borneo Rainforest Lodge for example, at the Danum Valley Conservation Area, is a high end resort facility located in a virgin rainforest with surroundings hundreds of years of age that includes an ancient burial ground and guaranteed wildlife spotting.

Last year, Sabah recorded 3.879 million visitor arrivals. An estimated RM8.342 billion was generated in tourism receipts. By 2020, the Sabah International Conventional Centre is expected to be completed, further enhancing Business Events in the city of Kota Kinabalu, thus keeping Sabah as a vibrant and unique lure for both business and pleasure.

Sabah is well known as a wonderful leisure destination.

Can you describe developments to meet the growing international demand for Business Events - ranging from conferences to business reward & recognition packages, team building and executive retreats?

A total of 9 hotels are expected to open in Kota Kinabalu starting from 2020 to 2022, with approximately 900 rooms in 2020 and another 1,800 rooms for 2021-2022, making up a total of approximately 2,700 rooms.

We are also looking forward to the completion of the Sabah International Convention Centre which can cater up to 5,000 delegates in one time.

Last year, 241 business events were held in Sabah, with a total of 42,623 delegates, generating approximately RM104.7 million in revenue. This is an increase of +31.7% in terms of numbers of events held here compared to the previous year.

This year we have also received big incentive groups from China and upcoming event in October will be the EARCOS Conference with approximately 1,000 delegates. Next year in February, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will be having their Adventure Travel Conference and Mart here.

Can you provide me that latest in visitor numbers, and spend, showing the increases, and how visitor spend is increasing in importance for Sabah? How does tourism rank in importance to the Sabah economy?

This year, for the first 6 months, Sabah received a total of 2.017 million visitor arrivals, an increase of +6.6% compared to the same period last year with an estimated revenue of MYR 4.337 billion.

Tourism is the third largest income generating sector for Sabah. The industry has helped in opening up business and job opportunities to the local communities.

What is unique that Sabah can offer for both business and leisure travellers?

Sabah caters to all types of travellers. From world class resorts and hotels to international cuisines, and nearby attractions, visitors can enjoy both business and leisure trips within the major cities (Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan) in Sabah.

Sabah is easily accessible with air-connections from major cities of other countries such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Perth, Manila, Bandar Seri Begawan, and Bangkok including Kuala Lumpur.

What are the most significant challenges to increasing visitor numbers - and how are these being addressed?

To bring in more visitors to Sabah, we need to increase air accessibility to Sabah by getting more direct flights. Upgrading of our airports is crucial as well to ensure that we are able to meet the demands and passenger movements of the airport.

Sabah most sought after attractions are its islands and beaches. Due to conservation efforts carried out on most of the islands, there is a limit to the number of visitors to these islands. Therefore, we need to diversify our tourism products especially in the rural areas and in the east coast to offer more options to visitors especially to our repeat visitors.

STB also conducts tourism awareness and communitybased tourism workshops to local communities and as well as organized tourism engagements to help educate and update stakeholders about the industry for service improvement.

The source of visitors is clearly evolving in new directions. Can you quantify the trends and how Sabah is working to both inspire and to meet the challenges?

Travellers nowadays are more independent, they search for information online including booking of flights, accommodation and tours. They seldom buy tour packages from travel agents. These free– independent-travellers (FITs) are mostly millennials; young travellers who are very active on social media and their decision to visit a destination are mostly influenced by postings or videos they see on social media platforms.

In the first quarter of this year, 55% (more than half) of visitors to Sabah are FITs, while 32% purchased tour packages and the balance are a mixture of both.

Although we encourage FITs to Sabah, we would also want our tour agents to benefit from visitors arrival to the state by pushing promotion packages through online marketing. As a support to the tourism industry, Sabah Tourism also organised two workshops in 2018 to encourage the industry players to embrace digital marketing.

We also put efforts in increasing our presence on various social media platforms. Online marketing has been our focus and we have been working closely with airlines, hotels and other industry players for promotional campaigns.

Clearly there has been significant investment into the tourism infrastructure. Can you quantify this?

What do you see as Sabah’s strengths in attracting visitors?

Realising the importance of tourism sector as one of the major contributors to the state and nation’s economic development, the government has been spending billions worth of investment towards developing public tourism infrastructure and wellfunctioning facilities.

We are known for our beautiful, white sandy beaches and islands, amazing nature and wildlife. We even have our own local coffee known as Tenom Coffee and our own organic tea, Sabah Tea.

Sabah for instance, has been allocated with a large sum of state and federal funds to further develop tourism infrastructure under the five years Malaysia Plan. Especially under the Eight Malaysia Plan (8th MP) to the current Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11th MP), the funds were mostly spent on developing and/or upgrading of basic tourism infrastructure and facilities at Ecotourism sites managed by agencies under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, i.e tourism attractions managed

by Sabah Parks, Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Museum Department and so on.

To cater for the growing Business Events/MICE tourism, the state government is adding more choices of MICE venue providers with the development of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Anticipating its completion in year 2020, the SICC, complete with its state-of-the-art facilities will be another landmark of tourism infrastructure by the state government.

The commitments from both Federal and State government in putting all the tourism infrastructures in place, offers great opportunity for private sectors to invest on a larger scale tourism development, be it on a public-private partnership or fully private term i.e development of international chain hotels/resorts, etc.

In addition, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, through its agency, Sabah Tourism Board, in its effort to support new tourism products has been extending tourism product support to the local tourism industry player on a smaller scale. A generous amount of funds has been allocated by the state government to provide basic tourism facilities such as directional and information signage, upgrading of basic tourism facilities, and to the extent of organizing tourism awareness seminar for the Community Based Tourism development throughout the districts in Sabah.

We cater to all type of tourists, from those seeking for adventure, the nature lovers, the honeymooners and families.

Sabah is unique from other states in Malaysia because the top 3 highest mountain are located here – Mount Kinabalu, Mount Trus Madi and Mount Tambuyukon. We also have the oldest rainforest which is more than 100 million years old. 59% of Sabah is covered by forest and is rich in flora and fauna.

The Borneo Big Five are the most iconic wildlife for Borneo Island and can be spotted here in Sabah, which are the Orang Utan, Proboscis Monkey, Pygmy Elephant, Rhinoceros Hornbill and the Estuarine Crocodile.

How is Sabah striking a balance between tourism expansion and ecological and cultural values?

Under the state’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, six departments and agencies namely Sabah Wildlife Department, Environment Protection Department, Sabah Parks, Sabah Museum, Sabah Cultural Board and Sabah Tourism Board play a role to develop and manage the environment, culture and tourism sectors. Sabah is known as a destination with strong values on conservation. And because of these efforts, we are able to sustain our parks and islands.

What are the main misconceptions people may have about Sabah - and what is being done to counter this?

Surprisingly, a few feedbacks we received from tourist is language barrier, They were surprised and at the same time glad to know that the people here can communicate well in English.

Going forward 10 years - where do you see Sabah?

Will tourism still be a dominant player – perhaps even more so than today?

I am confident Tourism will still be one of the top 3 contributors to Sabah state economy. The industry has potential to grow bigger especially in the rural tourism sector or known as community-based tourism.

Developing business events facilities to drive more MICE groups to Sabah is also another focus for us.

One of the most noticeable changes is the all-new TFT dash. The new dash features four display modes, with selectable white or black backgrounds.

The supercharged hypersport from Kawasaki seeks to retain its crown of “baddest on the block” for 2019.

With insurgent competitors on the horizon, Kawasaki has updated its hypersport range with features designed to bring the Ninja H2 and Ninja H2 R up to 2019 technical spec – with a dash more power to the mix. If we’re the type looking for more exclusivity, there’s even a new special-edition model - the Ninja H2 Carbon.

With 197 hp on tap at its debut in 2015, the road going Ninja H2 was never lacking in the power department. However, 2019 sees this figure increased for more bragging rights in the hypersport space and more separation from its ZX-10R stablemate.

With a new air filter, spark plugs, and intake chamber, power is claimed to be increased. In addition, Kawasaki is claiming there is no mpg penalty for the increase in power.

To help slow down that extra punch, Kawasaki has added Brembo dual radial-mount, opposed fourpiston Stylema calipers gripping semi-floating 330mm discs. There’s also new rubber - both the H2 and H2 Carbon coming shod with Bridgestone Battlax RS11 sport tyres.

Not content with just more power, Kawasaki also added rider-oriented tech and touch-point details to the Ninja H2 line. One of the most noticeable changes is the all-new TFT dash. The new dash features four display modes, with selectable white or black backgrounds. There’s even an “Economical Riding Indicator” which seems incredibly hilarious in

a non-intentional way for a hypersort offering. Smart phone connectivity has been added as well. Utilising a chip in the instrument panel, riders can use an app on their phone to access, log, and review a number of functions including fuel and trip info, maintenance schedule, battery condition, GPS route and speed information, mileage, notifications on the dash when someone is calling or texting you - and more. Vehicle settings such as general display and riding modes can also be adjusted.

One smart touch is that even if the bike is turned off and the phone is out of range, the app logs any changes we make and automatically syncs them once we start the motorcycle.

The 2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ninja H2 Carbon feature new LED turn signals and an LED license plate lamp. In fact all lighting on the road-going H2s are now LED. Both models also receive Kawasaki’s “highly durable paint” (used on all non-carbon bodywork parts). This paint features a top coat that allows selfrepair of small scratches and defects.

For those looking for only the utmost rarity, Kawasaki also took the wraps off of the H2 Carbon.

This special-edition model features carbon-fibre bodywork and a special insignia. No production number has been announced for this version.

Hypersport bikes usually have a long reign at the top, but with the rarified air becoming more competitive between OEMs, these touches are sure to improve the baddest Ninja on the block.

Its 2019 Chief, Springfield and Roadmaster models all feature new technology designed to enhance and customise the riding experience. Dark Horse models also get darker with premium gloss black finishes and expanded colour options on Springfield Dark Horse.

Developed in direct response to rider feedback, the new technology features focus on improving performance, comfort, and providing more customisation.

The new features include: Selectable ride modes Riders can now choose between three ride modes on the fly – Tour, Standard or Sport – for a ride experience that’s customised to their riding style. The throttle map for each ride mode was designed with a specific application in mind, resulting in one motorcycle with three distinct personalities.

“Tour” mode features a smooth throttle response for relaxed cruising. “Standard” mode features a crisp throttle response and well-balanced power delivery for responsive passing power and predictable, slow-speed handling. And finally, “Sport” mode features an instant throttle response and aggressive power delivery for head-snapping acceleration.

Rear cylinder deactivation To increase rider comfort, all Thunder Stroke 111 models are now equipped with “rear cylinder deactivation.” When the engine reaches operating temperature and the ambient temperature exceeds 15 degrees, the rear cylinder will automatically deactivate when the bike is at a standstill, resulting in less engine heat for improved comfort in slow-moving or stopped traffic. The rear

cylinder instantly reactivates when throttle is applied for a seamless transition to full power.

Improved airflow on roadmaster lower fairings The lower fairings on the 2019 Roadmaster have been redesigned and optimised to provide significantly more airflow to the rider. This greatly improves comfort while cruising down the road. The redesigned airflow vent can be adjusted from all the way open for maximum airflow to fully closed for total weather protection. The new lowers can be retrofitted to bikes from past model years with the addition of new highway bars.

Enhanced audio system Several enhancements have been made to Indian’s stock audio system to significantly improve sound quality. First, the tweeters have been separated from the mid-range speakers to optimise sound output and clarity. Second, a dynamic equaliser that’s fully customisable now adjusts specific frequencies at different vehicle speeds to provide peak system performance at all times. As speed increases, the equaliser automatically adjusts each frequency to the optimal level to compensate for road, wind and engine noise. The result is crystal clear, 100-watt premium audio at all speeds.

Also for 2019, Chief Dark Horse and Springfield Dark Horse receive several style updates that further accentuate their mean, custom styling. These models now boast premium gloss black finishes on the engine including the primary, valve, and cam covers, push-rod tubes, as well as on the exhaust and saddlebag hinges.

Springfield Dark Horse is now offered in two colours Thunder Black Smoke and a new White Smoke option.

Also, notable for the 2019 Springfield Dark Horse is the addition of the iconic Indian head dress on the front fender and a 19” contrast-cut wheel. The front highway bars and windshield were also removed to punctuate its sleek, streamlined stance.

As well, Indian offers a wide range of authentic accessories for riders to customise their bike’s performance, style, comfort and storage.

BMW enters the scooter market with impressive C400X BMW’s decision to enter the mid-sized scooter market this year was based on numbers. Worldwide, this sector sells a constant 35,000-40,000 units a year, so represents a stable market in which to make an impression.

ASC (traction control) is a standard feature, which is helpful when accelerating on loose gravel or wet roads. With 33bhp and 25.8 ft lb of torque, the engine will perform without complaint and, being shod with Pirelli Angel tyres, it should grip like a cat on a carpet.

BMW designed the C400X to be a sporty middleweight, hence the lack of feet-forward riding position, a necessary compromise to keep it short and agile.

And it works.

However, in order to make this impression, BMW had to design a ground-up new 350cc single cylinder scooter.

The heart of the BMW C400X is a 350cc, SOHC water-cooled, four valve motor with a CVT (twist and go).

BMW have tailored their CVT for acceleration and the C400X is nippy off the line while also delivering good levels of torque, virtually no vibrations and the ability to pull the bike up to an indicated 140 kph. Then there’s a claimed 3.5 litres of petrol for 100 km and a tank range of more than 350 kms, which should be music to a commuter’s ears.

Unlike some rivals’ mid-segment scooters, BMW have given their bike more of a sporting edge. It lacks a traditional feet forward riding position to keep it short and agile and, as a result, its storage space is a bit more limited.

As well as two lockable cubbyholes, the right hand of which also contains a 12v plug-in point, the C400X has enough underseat storage to fit a half-face lid and other items we may need for our daily routine.

That said, once stationary, BMW’s “flexcase” system expands the underseat storage area to allow space for a full-face lid to be stored alongside a half-face one, while a 30-litre top box is an optional extra.

Is this lack of storage for a better handling scooter a sacrifice worth making?

BMW designed the C400X to be a sporty middleweight, hence the lack of feet-forward riding position, a necessary compromise to keep it short and agile. And it works.

In town, an excellent turning circle allows the C400X to easily be u-turned in a road and its light feel and narrowness means we can zip through gaps, while the riding position means our feet are always close to the ground. Good braking and with the ABS not being too intrusive all adds up to a very enjoyable ride and great weekend toy.

On the open road the BMW turns quickly and is fun in the bends, while at open road speeds it remains stable which is great for motorway work. The suspension is well up to the job at hand, so overall this scooter should tick the boxes for those wanting a premium product that has the exclusivity of the BMW brand and a great ride thrown in for good measure.

Yamaha’s Tmax scooter or tourer? Well it’s both actually Yamaha have been making Tmax scooters for years so they must be doing something right.

We take a look at the newest offering.

Obviously the TMax SX is a premium offering, but there’s a reason that Yamaha have sold more than 200,000 TMax’s in 15 years.

From an ergonomic perspective the SX is wide, particularly across the seat, with two footwell positions and a compact “bar” assembly. The seat is comfortable, and offers enough storage underneath to store a full face helmet and a light jacket and gloves or two jet-type helmets, according to Yamaha.

This is accessed via a console at the front of the seat, with the seat button and fuel button.

There’s also good wind protection from the screen, and exceptional wind/weather protection from the large front fairing.

The switch blocks have plenty going on, with the starter/on button on the right, as well as a mode button. We need to be stopped to switch modes but with the very different power delivery between the two modes this is done for safety.

On the left switch block is our indicator and horn, with a dash toggle for the central LCD display and flasher.

Traction control isn’t multilevel or switchable and the same can be said of the ABS. A central LCD is framed by a speedo and tachometer, and there’s also central locking which just makes sense on a scooter. All we do is have the fob in our pocket, walk up, hit the “On/Starter” button and everything springs to life.

Get off the bike and hit “Off” shuts it all down, then turn the bars to full left lock and hit “Off” again and the steering locks. The bike being “off “also locks the glove compartment, seat and fuel cap.

Comfort is great, meaning longer trips away would be an easy sell to our significant other, and there’s more than enough power for practically anything we can think of.

Plus, being automatic it’s an easy, fuss free ride in traffic, and the comfort for larger framed riders is going to be a real benefit, alongside the spacious storage.

Obviously the TMax SX is a premium offering, but there’s a reason that Yamaha have sold more than 200,000 TMax’s in 15 years. By incorporating the same capabilities of many touring motorcycle options into a super user-friendly package while being LAMS legal also means we could even induct younger family members into joining the fraternity.

So for a machine which is light, powerful, agile and has enough power to pull a train the only limit is the rider.

In fact, off-road suspension and bigger, more suitable wheels are the only substantial alterations.

The new LC4 engine is still a big thumper, but now smoother thanks to a second balancer shaft and lots of cylinder head work, including a resonator chamber that balances out pulses in the inlet tract to smooth out throttle response.

The Enduro R comes with off-road developed traction control, which boasts a lean-angle sensitive traction control system that acts on the throttle valves, softening the delivery until grip is returned. It can also be switched off.

KTM’s Cornering ABS mode allows us to use the full power of our brakes in all conditions, even while leant over. In off-road mode, it only acts on the front wheel, while cornering-sensitivity is disabled.

It can also be disabled.

Trying to tame this 146kg lump as it kicks out its full 74bhp isn’t a job for an inexperienced enduro rider.

Even on the softer throttle setting, controlling its aggressive delivery can often feel like an intimidating losing battle.

The technology is far from idiot-proof for ham-fisted Neanderthals, but works dreamily in conjunction with a deft right hand - as does the Off-Road ABS – which is available as an aftermarket accessory.

But, like the SMC, the Enduro has been treated to a decent suite of advanced rider aids that include specially developed off-road traction control that’s beautiful in use, permitting a certain amount of spin and slide before subtly keeping things in line with a whisper of electronic intervention.

So for a machine which is light, powerful, agile and has enough power to pull a train the only limit is the rider.

Taiwan shines as hotspot for cruise industry in Asia

The cruise market is prospering in Asia, among which Taiwan shines as a surprising hotspot for the industry.

According to a CLIA survey, cruising has become the fastest growing leisure travel option in Asia, while Taiwan is the second largest sourcing market in the region.

Princess Cruises, which started operating in Taiwan in 2014, is

committed to further developing the local market.

According to a survey by InsightXplorer in 2018, Princess Cruises has enjoyed the highest brand preference, and is the favourite cruise brand among consumers in Taiwan.

From 2014 to 2018, Princess Cruises increased its itineraries 6.5 times, and passenger numbers nearly 10-fold.

Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises, visited Taiwan for the third time to announce Taiwan homeport plans in 2020.

The luxurious Majestic Princess, especially designed for Asia, will serve from Keelung port for six months next year from March to August.

“In 2018, Princess Cruises first deployed three cruise ships to Keelung port,” said Swartz.

Royal Caribbean remains most valuable Royal Caribbean International has narrowly retained its position as the world’s most valuable leisure and tourism brand, with its brand value remaining steady at US$3.8 billion.

According to Brand Finance, a valuation company, Royal Caribbean reported strong financial results in 2018, and with demand high in the cruise industry, the cruise line is on course for future growth.

Meanwhile, second-ranked TUI (brand value up 4 percent to US$3.7 billion) substantially

closed the gap to the ranking’s leader, only just falling short of overtaking Royal Caribbean.

Happy Valley almost doubled its brand value in a single year (up 97 percent to US$2 billion).

The fast-growing China International Travel (up 70 percent to US$3.7 billion) has come third this year, up from fifth in 2018. China International saw a significant increase in its valuation due to a surge in forecast revenue in coming years as the Chinese tourism market continues to develop with unprecedented speed and scale.

“Royal Caribbean International remains the world’s most valuable leisure and tourism brand but is being challenged by broader economic changes. The significant growth achieved by Chinese travel brands is powered by the country’s burgeoning middle class as it is increasingly able to travel internationally,” said Savio D’Souza, valuation director at Brand Finance.

The fastest-growing brand in the ranking also comes from China.

Silversea celebrates silver jubilee

In 2019, Silversea’s guests will traverse the Northeast Passage for the first time, while the cruise line will undertake the world’s first Expedition World Cruise in 2021.

Silversea’s destinations in more iconic regions, such as the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, also remains as strong as ever.

Silversea Cruises is celebrating 25 years as a luxury cruise line.

In that time, Silversea has hosted almost half a million guests on more than 4000 voyages.

Silversea’s ships have completed an accumulated total of more than 47,800 cruise days, while the cruise line’s guests have travelled a combined total of more than 9.4 million cruise days.

When launched in 1994, Silversea was the world’s first all-inclusive ultra-luxury cruise line. Purpose-built Silver Cloud - the cruise line’s first ship, was unique as almost all suites included a personal balcony.

The ship was christened in Monaco on May 30, 1994, in the presence of Prince Albert.

Tahitian cargo cruise line, Aranui Cruises, has added three itineraries to its 2021 programme, taking guests to 11 new island destinations including the cruise line’s maiden voyage to the Cook Islands, an expanded Pitcairn itinerary and the first dedicated Society Islands cruise.

On sale now, the 2021 programme features 21 scheduled cruises around the South Pacific on Aranui 5, a 125-metre mixed freight and passenger vessel, that offers one of the few remaining cargo cruise experiences in the world.

The 2021 programme begins with a fresh take on the new Pitcairn voyage that debuted in 2019 and has fast become one of Aranui’s most popular annual itineraries.

atoll (Hikueru), an overnight stay at Adamstown as well as the cruise line’s maiden visit to Pitcairn’s pristine Oneo Island, with pictureperfect white sandy beaches.

Aranui Cruises will offer its inaugural Cook Islands cruise on September 4, 2021, with the 13-day round-trip cruise from Papeete sailing past Pointe Venus en route to Aitutaki and Rarotonga, and returning via Rurutu, Rapa and Raivave in the Australs, and Tuamotu atoll Anaa.

While the cruise line will continue to offer its classic itinerary to French Polynesia’s remote Marquesas islands, where it has been delivering cargo and cruise passengers for more than 30 years, Aranui is offering its first foray into the famed Society Islands in 2021, with an exciting itinerary that combines Tahiti’s best-known islands with a few lesser-known gems.

When Aranui 5 anchors at Makatea on May 11, 2021, it will be almost 50 years since the cruise line’s last visit as a local inter-island trader during the island’s phosphate boom. The tiny speck of an island - just 8km long and 5km wide with a population of less than 100 - has since become famous as the island where David Schwimmer and Anne Heche holidayed in 1990s film, Six Days, Seven Nights.

Most (18) of Aranui Cruises’ departures in 2021 will be the cruise line’s original 13-day round-trip cruise from Papeete to the Marquesas Islands, with cargo dispensed at remote island communities while guests disembark and explore a range of complimentary excursions including hikes, 4WD tours, local feasts and visits to archaeological sites at Hiva Oa, Nuka Hiva, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Tahuata, and Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas; the Tuamotu ports of Rangiroa and Fakarava, and Bora Bora in the Society Islands. Aranui 5’s Marquesas Islands cruises are priced from NZ$7864 per person twin share.

The December 16, 2021, departure will feature an extended visit to Fatu Hiva for the biennial Marquesan Arts Festival.

Exploring islands of Croatia aboard Esperanza BY: ROB PRINCE How easy can boarding be? We are only advised the day before we sail that our ship will be the Esperanza yet, with only 34 passengers, it’s just a matter of walking up the gangplank and giving our name.

We’re told our cabin number and informed that our bags would be in our cabin within the hour. In the meantime we can wander around Dubrovnik and return to the Esperanza for lunch.

The Esperanza, launched in 2016, is 46 metres in length and designed for 38 passengers. There are 11 cabins above deck and eight below. All the cabins are of the same size and fit out.

Powered with two 600hp Scania engines, the Esperanza has a cruising speed of eight to nine knots and a top speed of around 14 knots.

The upper sun deck has plenty of shaded areas essential when temperatures are reaching 35c - and also a large spa pool.

Our journey starts with an overnight stay in Dubrovnik and then an early morning start to the port of Mljet.

Every port is an overnight stay so from Mljet it was on to Korcula, Vis, Hvar, Milna and ending up in split. As there is a festival in Hvar and we cannot dock at the port, so we land at another port on the same island (Stari Grad) and from here take a 25 minute bus trip to Hvar.

Our cabin number is on the upper deck. The double bed takes up the majority of the cabin, but despite that it is of a reasonable size and there is plenty of room for our two suit cases. There is a good size wardrobe but drawer space is a bit limited.nThe bathroom is a surprise, being generous in size with a large shower and vanity.

The bar onboard is under the control of Tom. A multitasker, Tom not only manages the bar but also is the restaurant waiter for breakfast, lunch and special dinners. The bar has all the beverages we would find at any shore-based establishment.

The restaurant is run by the chef and his wife. The food produced from this small galley is first class, not only the quality but the presentation is as good as we would find in any restaurant ashore. There is a

continental and fully cooked breakfast served every morning between 8-9am. A three-course lunch, with a glass of wine, is on offer at 12.30pm.

Two meals are supplied during the voyage - the Captain’s Dinner on board, and the second ashore at a village restaurant in Korcula. This restaurant is owned by Frank, who had spent 12 years in Auckland, but who has now retuned to the island to run the restaurant with his family.

The other five meals are left open so that we can venture ashore and find a local venue serving local food and wine.

The only night that entertainment is arranged is the night of the Captain’s Dinner. The first set features folk songs from Croatia. After dinner we discover that the vocalist is an old rocker and he really gets the Esperanza rocking.

The Esperanza has a crew of seven including our Captain Ranko. Other than the chef and his wife who run the galley, every crew member helps out where needed.

Sail Croatia has a great system where they charter the vessel and crew for the voyage. The Esperanza is owned by Captain Ranko. Antonio, our cruise director, is employed by Sail Croatia and is the go between for the ship’s company, passengers and Sail Croatia.

Antonio is very informative and gives us a briefing of the day ahead during breakfast. He has a good feel for the guests needs and has problems sorted before they happen.

It’s hard to find any fault with this cruise. The Esperanza is in as-new condition, the crew continually cleaning and polishing. All ports of call are sufficiently different from the one before to ensure we are looking forward to new experiences.

Each morning we spend three to four hours cruising to our next destination. Each afternoon we have a swimming stop where we launch ourselves off the stern of Esperanza.

Sail Croatia has perfected island cruising around Croatia and I look forward to a repeat cruise on Esperanza.

The romance of a South Seas trader - Aranui 5 connects remote islands

One of the most iconic trips in French Polynesia is a two week cruise aboard the Aranui 5. This 126m-long passenger freighter spends its year doing around 19 return trips from Papeete out to six inhabited islands of the far flung Marquesas group, delivering and picking cargo as it goes around.

Unless you’re a yachtie, there’s simply no other way to visit so many of the legendary Marquesas islands.

Combined, these outliers on the far eastern edge of French Polynesia total 1000 sq kms, the highest peak Mt Oave on Oa Pou being 1230m.

Very different from the other islands of French Polynesia, the geography of the Marquesas islands is best described as “grand, brooding and powerful,” undeniably so because of the towering basaltic pinnacles that shoot skyward from the islands interiors. Forming the darkest of silhouettes, they sharply contrast against the green swathed lower slopes and the intense cobalt blue of the deep Pacific.

These islands are simply stunning, and bear witness to the vocanic eruptions of the relatively recent past that created them.

It takes nearly three days at 13 knots to reach them, usually with a half day at an atoll of the Tuamotu group (Fakarava) thrown in on the way through.

Depending on the schedule back, there are full day stop-offs at Rangiora Atoll in the Tuamotu and beautiful Bora Bora in the Society Islands. A twice a year itinerary includes being taken ashore on the British Overseas Territory of Pitcairn island.

The back half of the ship accommodates the 240-odd passengers and 80-strong crew. But the front half is 60m of freight holds, deck cargo, stacked containers, and barge tenders that all have to be craned off where no port facilities are available. The freight capacity of the Aranui 5 is 1700 tonnes.

Unlike many other cruise ships worldwide, that only disgorge alongside piers at tourist-worn hotspots, this ship mostly relies on anchoring offshore from isolated villages, although piers and breakwaters are used at three of the larger settlements. It may not be like travelling on the schooners of old, but it is an authentic take on a modern supply ship, the arrival of which is a still a big deal in these isolated settlements.

While the ship is being unloaded and loaded at each island, passengers are barged ashore to take in the sights on 4WD trips to archaeological sites and far away villages, scuba diving excursions, snorkelling and swimming, walking treks, hiring bikes, and shopping at craft stalls where singing and displays of traditional dance are put on.

Getting around on horses is big in the Marquesas.

Some islands today boasting more horses than people, the result of Admiral Dupeti-Thouars importing the smallish horses from Chile in 1842.

Guided overland horsetreks on Ua Huka are always popular with horse-savvy passengers.

Marquesan people above all value their culture, it showing proudly not only in their customs but the traditional family way they live their lives. They don’t regard themselves as Tahitians and speak a quite different language. In the classical age of ocean voyaging, these far flung islands served as the dispersal point for the entire Polynesian triangle, out to Hawaii, Easter Island, and down to Aotearoa/ New Zealand. You see where Maori got it from - the eloquent and striking language, the chants and songs, even the haka, all similar but 5700km apart.

Introduced European diseases saw a peak of 75,000 Marquesan population in 1772 reduced to just 2000 by 1920, They’ve built up again to number just under 10,000 today. The huge archaeological site of Tohua Kumihei at Hatiheu on Nuku Hiva testifies to what must have been an extensive population who once sheltered in this benign and delightful tropical valley.

Fascinating are the ancient rock petroglyphs here, including a turtle that perfectly resembles the relief of one carved into the matai hull of the “Anaweka waka,” one of the oldest remaining voyaging canoe relic ever found, only unearthed along the Kahurangi Coast on the South Island of New Zealand in 2014.

Another detailed petrograph of an unmistakeable llama can be plainly seen on the base of an ancient carved stone tiki head at Iipona archaeological site on Hiva Oa. Sailors have long come and gone from the the Marquesas.

One standout feature of this cruise is that unlike many other cruise ships which use Filipino crews who aren’t even allowed to mix with passengers, the Aranui 5 has a full complement of Tahitian and Marquesan crew who just naturally interact with everyone aboard. Across all decks, they help create a real camaraderie that just builds and builds as the ship goes along.

Polynesian nights, dancing, even a fashion show are all hosted on the pool deck (Level 7), although we never know when the Aranui crew band will strike up in one of the the bars on Level 6 and 7.

The ship features a fitness centre and there’s even a Marquesan tattooist on board. As the trip proceeds and the passengers get into the Marquesan vibe, this body artist becomes quite busy.

The extensive dining menus include full breakfasts and three course lunch and dinners with French wine on every table, the combined effort of a dozen kitchen staff led by accomplished Tahitian chefs.

Each cruise also carries a French doctor and nurse.

balconies, 31 Deluxe rooms, 40 Standard rooms and a dormitory.

A five kilometre roundabout walk above Atuonia village on Hiva Oa gets us to the graves of both Jacques Brel and artist Paul Gauguin, the latter’s house still down in the village along side-by-side museums to the inspiring work of both men.

The longest hike, optional on foot or 4WD, is the 17km long 850m high jaunt over the ranges from Omoa to Hanavave on Fatu Hiva. The ship comes around to pick up hikers when it drops off freight at Hanavave later that afternoon.

Coming down to the village is utterly spectacular.

Set in a jaw dropping ravine between towering volcanic formations, the utterly dramatic location early got called Baie des Verges (Bay of Penises) on account of several phallic-looking rock stacks which unmistakedly stand out to approaching vessels.

Outraged when they arrived, the first missionaries cleverly added a redeeming ‘i’ to make the name Baie des Vierges (Bay of Virgins). There are no aircraft landing strips on this island so it feels as far away from everything as it’s possible to get in this modern world.

Jagged cliffs and a narrow harbour entrance make for a spectacular anchorage off the settlement of Vaipaee on Ua Huka. The unacceptable frequency of haulage accidents in rough seas here was the reason back in the mid-1980s, Theodore Oputu, the Tahitian captain of Aranui 2 & 3, ‘invented’ the turn-around manoeuvre still practised by the Aranui 5 today.

It’s quite amazing to watch from the top deck too, above on the bridge, with Capitaine Loic Glavany presiding over the marine slow motion event which unfolds with military-like precision over 45 minutes.

First the ship is steered bow first into the sheltered cliff-lined narrows that appear little wider than the ship is long. There is a precise point in these tight narrows to drop the anchor, the bosun up front determining that when he sees the bow line up between two rocky coves. Exactly seven shackles (27.5m) of anchor chain he then lets out into the 10m deep water, and when it grabs he pulls it back in to six shackles. The exact length is adjusted to how far the ship is expected to move in the wind.

The manoeuvre is completed with the help of opposing rudders and propellers, and use of the ship’s bow thruster which is applied to slowly but steadily turn the ship a complete half circle, pivoting tight on the anchor. While the ship turns, the ships craneman uses his 35t Leibherr crane to nimbly lower three seamen in the ship’s tender down into the water. It’s their job to take out the ship’s stern mooring ropes, scramble ashore and fasten them to the big bollards on the rocks put in by the shipping

company. Once the mooring lines are tightened back, the ship is held completely safe and fast between the two big bollards and anchor, pointed all ready to sail out again.

There is no pause. Once the ship is secure unloading begins to the ship’s barges that are craned off to position alongside. Basic supplies get supplemented by the necessities of modern life - new plastic wrapped mattresses, a few boxed big screen TVs, plumbing and culvert pipes, bagged cement, drums of diesel, big sling bags of roadmetal even. It all has to come in by boat. Back to the ship goes sacks of copra, empty drums, fruit, and fresh fish for the ship’s table.

The crew take the opportunity to fish off the stern at every stop, and haul in some amazingly good catches. Passengers can elect to go out on the ship’s dedicated fishing boat too, Mahi-Nui 2, which is slung aboard to undertake coastline and deep sea fishing excursions. The boat just gets craned off, and off it goes under the command of the ship’s two local fishermen. Usually venturing no more than 8 km out into the ocean, big catches are the norm on these trolling adventures. Delicate flesh fish species caught include wahoo, mackerel, tuna, mahimahi and barracoutta.

For nearly 40 years, the Aranui has been offering discerning travellers the adventure of a lifetime across the South Pacific. The shipping company

that owns the Aranui 5, Compagne Polynesienne de Transport Marine (CPTM), was originally started by a Mr Wing Wong who immigrated out from the Cantonese village of Ha Kuan Tam in China to Tahiti in 1924. The company is still owned and controlled by the Wong Family, with grandson Phillippe Wong its CEO. The business has evolved. After operating a cargo ship called the Taurua, CPTM launched the first Aranui in 1960, the ship’s name meaning “Great Pathway.” Sensing a demand for soft adventure tourism in the region, the company spent several years in the 1980s developing a 40-passenger freighter that became the Aranui 1. This was replaced by the larger ex-Baltic trader Aranui 2 in 1990 and the Aranui 3 launched in 2003. There was no Aranui 4 because that number in considered bad luck by the third generation of the Wong Family.

The Aranui 3 was replaced in late 2015 with the Aranui 5, purpose built at the Huanghai shipyard in China. Overall, the line of Aranui ships have successfully carried around 45,000 passengers, delivered more than half a million tonnes of freight, and covered nearly one million nautical miles of ocean between Tahiti and the remote Tuamotu and Marquesan Islands.

by SplashTech is the eco-friendly alternative to single-use sanitisers and is available via preorder on Kickstarter. So far it has raised over NZ$95,000 – well over its goal of NZ$15,575.

The sanitiser bottle is cylindrical in shape and made from metal aerospace material. It has a spray mechanism on top and a sustainable microfibre roller on one side (handy for phone screens). The bottle is refillable with SplashTech’s

#4 Hidrate Spark – no more passing out from dehydration Hidrate Spark is a smart water bottle that glows to remind users to drink water and keeps track of water intake via bluetooth. The bottle was brought to life in 54 hours by 23-year-old college student, Nadya Nguyen, at a Google Startup Weekend in 2014. The initial idea came to Nguyen after she nearly fainted in the street due to dehydration. Hidrate Spark is highly durable being made out of food-grade BPA free Tritan and integrates seamlessly with a range of fitness trackers including Apple Watch and Fitbit.

#6 Canopy – the zero-waste screen protector Another “world first” comes in the form of a zerowaste liquid screen protector called Canopy. It’s by Pela, a company that produces eco-friendly phone cases and sunglasses. Canopy is the solution to the over one billion plastic screen protectors that are bought and disposed of every year and comes in a vial with a cork. The liquid product can be poured onto a cloth then wiped on a phone screen. In two minutes, the screen will be scratch proof, shatter proof and 10 times stronger than it was before.

Sounds like magic but it’s basically highly evolved science. The liquid is engineered to fill in the existing pores of the glass and covalently bond with only glass and no other surface. Canopy is made from five percent active ingredient and 95 percent ethanol derived from corn, sugarcane and wood.
