REFLECTIONS from 3daysofdesign 2026
Returning to Copenhagen for its second year, NAU once again joined the global design community at 3daysofdesign - presenting The Moment Is NAU, an exhibition that celebrated Australian design through craftsmanship, material honesty and enduring form. Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most influential design festivals, the exhibition marked an important milestone in NAU’s continued international journey.
Each year, 3daysofdesign transforms Copenhagen into a city-wide platform for contemporary design, where ideas are exchanged, materials are explored and meaningful connections are made. Rather than existing within the confines of a traditional trade fair, the festival unfolds through historic buildings, galleries and brand homes, creating an atmosphere that encourages conversation, discovery and a deeper engagement with design.
This year’s festival reflected a growing appreciation for longevity, authenticity and thoughtful evolution. Across exhibitions, installations and product launches, brands embraced craftsmanship, material innovation and designs intended to endure - prioritising meaningful experiences over novelty.

The Moment Is NAU marked a confident evolution of the brand’s international presence. More than a product showcase, the exhibition presented a carefully considered living environment, bringing together new releases and established collections in a space that celebrated Australian craftsmanship, material honesty and timeless design.
Reflecting NAU’s growing presence on the global stage, the exhibition invited visitors to experience a distinctly Australian perspective - one grounded in warmth, authenticity and enduring quality.

SOFT SPOT
BY ADAM GOODRUM
Soft Spot is a seating collection by Adam Goodrum, shaped by a soft, enveloping silhouette and a distinctly relaxed sensibility. Generous, layered forms create a sculptural presencesubstantial yet inviting - balancing comfort with clarity of form.
NAMI SHELF
BY TOM FEREDAY
Designed by Tom Fereday for NAU, the Nami Shelving System extends the original collection’s sculptural language into a versatile storage solution defined by fluidform and material warmth.
BREEZE BLOCK
BY NICK RENNIE
Breeze Block celebrates colour, pattern and material through a playful, customisable design. Interchangeable inserts in patterned tile, timber or laminate allow each table to be uniquely composed, bringing character and versatility to outdoor settings.

A study in geometry, balance and light, XO is a sculptural lighting collection by Adam Goodrum inspired by two universal forms - the circle and the cross.

Designed by Adam Goodrum, the table series features a distinctive folded timber base that transforms a traditional structural element into a refined architectural gesture. The solid timber construction highlights the natural warmth, grain and character of the material.
ARCH

A celebration of craftsmanship, proportion and timeless form, Arch is a solid timber dining chair defined by its distinctive arched backrest. Balancing sculptural simplicity with everyday functionality, it brings warmth and refinement to dining and hospitality spaces.
This year’s 3daysofdesign felt like a moment of reflection and progression - a reminder that every emerging brand is part of a much larger design story. For NAU, the festival represented not only an opportunity to share new work, but to consider the foundations being built for the future of Australian design on the global stage.
Returning with a significantly expanded showcase, we presented a broader collection within a space designed to feel lived-in rather than simply a display of new releases. The intention was to create an environment that felt authentic to how our products are experienced - layered, considered and connected to everyday living.
Over the past year, a significant amount of work has gone into preparing NAU for the European market, from refining collections and production processes to ensuring our designs are ready for international distribution. Having that groundwork in place before the show allowed the exhibition to feel like a genuine reflection of where the brand is heading, rather than simply an increase in scale. It was exciting to see visitors engage with the collection as a complete storyone that reflects Australian design through a lens of craftsmanship, materiality and contemporary living.

The show also marked the launch of several new designs, with Soft Spot by Adam Goodrum (above) emerging as a standout. Designed with comfort at its core, the sofa features generous feather-filled cushions and a playful swivel base that quickly became a talking point among visitors. Beyond its visual character, Soft Spot represents NAU’s approach to creating furniture that feels intuitive, inviting and designed around the way people live.
A recurring theme throughout the festival was the idea of legacy. NAU contributed to this conversation through a panel discussion between Richard Munao and Adam Goodrum (opposite page), exploring what it means to be an emerging Australian brand alongside names with decades of heritage.
There is something unique about being early in that journey - still defining what our contribution will become, while recognising the importance of the stories and designs that came before us.
3daysofdesign 2026 was a reminder that meaningful design legacies are built over time, through curiosity, commitment and a clear point of view.
