CULT Design presents an insider’s view of 3daysofdesign, capturing the releases, conversations and cultural shifts driving global design forward.
3daysofdesign has evolved into one of the most influential moments on the global design calendar, transforming Copenhagen into a citywide platform for contemporary thinking, making and exchange. What began as a local initiative has grown into an international destination, drawing leading brands, emerging studios and a global audience of architects, designers and cultural thinkers.
Its significance lies not only in the breadth of presentations, but in its distinctly human scalewhere showrooms, streets and historic spaces become sites of dialogue and discovery. In contrast to larger trade fairs, 3daysofdesign offers a more considered, accessible experience, fostering meaningful connections between designers, industry and the public.
As design culture continues to shift toward sustainability, collaboration and material innovation, 3daysofdesign plays a vital role in shaping the conversation - positioning Copenhagen at the centre of a global movement that values both progressive ideas and enduring design.

For this year’s 3daysofdesign, &Tradition presents Traces—an exhibition that explores the enduring marks of design, craft, and culture. By looking at process, material and making, the brand reflects on how every act of creation carries both legacy and impact, and how designing with a care informs what is inherited and what is left behind. Traces seeks to uncover the common threads that connect classic and contemporary, local and global, past and future. Through exhibitions, new product launches, and community gatherings at Lille Petra Café, Petra Hotel, and &Tradition’s flagship showroom, Traces considers how heritage and originality coexist, how impact guides creative decisions, and the power of authenticity in shaping the future.

The brand’s exhibitions also stand apart for their architectural clarity. Clean lines, carefully balanced proportions and understated styling allow the richness of colour and materiality to take centre stage without overwhelming the space. For visitors interested in adaptable living, contemporary storage and the emotional role of colour in interiors, Montana remains one of the festival’s most visually compelling destinations.

The exhibition is also notable for its hospitality-led atmosphere. Much like Vipp’s guesthouse projects and architectural collaborations, the spaces encourage visitors to linger, observe and experience design at a slower pace. LATITUDE: 55°N MEETS 12°
by Claire Delmar
Claire Delmar curates the first contemporary Australian group exhibition, Latitude: 55°N Meets 12°S. Leading and emerging designers engage with natural light, from the subtle hues of northern skies to the sharp brilliance of summer. Through their work, designers and makers translate light into material and tactile experiences: glass that refracts and reflects, textiles that balance softness and shadow, and surfaces that absorb or scatter light across their forms. By focusing on materiality and object design, the works show that light is never fixed. It shapes how objects are made, how they’re seen, and how they reflect cultural identity across different landscapes.

CHRISTIANSHAVN
Originally established as a merchant town in the 17th century, Christianshavn is known for its historic canals, maritime heritage and strong culture of craftsmanship. Dutch-inspired streets, old warehouses and creative studios give the district a distinctly local character, where history and contemporary design continue to coexist.
FREDERIKSSTADEN
Frederiksstaden is one of Copenhagen’s most elegant and architecturally significant districts, renowned for its Rococo buildings, royal palaces and grand civic spaces. Originally developed in the 18th century, the area remains a showcase of enduring Danish craftsmanship, heritage and refined urban planning.
