Applied moulding doors from Corona Millworks go beyond the traditional wood door. These doors feature a decorative moulding that is applied to the inside edge of the frame that brings them into a whole new dimension. GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS WOOD DOORS

Wood is a natural porous material, thus it is effected by environmental conditions. Temperature, moisture, and humidity can cause a door to warp, twist, or crack. To ensure this is minimized, Corona Millworks recommends the following steps be considered when storing, handling, and finishing your doors and drawer fronts.

STORAGE & HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS

Keep unfinished wood in a temperature controlled environment. Extreme fluctuations in temperature, which often occur on job sites, can cause warping, twisting, and cracking in as little as 24 hours of delivery.

Prior to bringing the doors to a job site, we recommend that the structure have all exterior doors and windows installed. This will help bring the structure to occupancy temperature.

Do not store doors and draawer fronts in damp areas such as freshly plastered buildings, newly installed dry wall, open garages, or rooms with recently tiled counter tops or floors.

Do not store doors or drawer fronts directly on concrete, as this can cause them to have moisture extracted.

If possible, store doors and drawer fronts stacked horizontally on a pallet or raised platform.

FINISHING RECOMMENDATIONS

For best results doors should be finished prior to installing.

Finishing after installation may cause uneven application, especialy on door tops and bottoms.

Apply at least two even coats of finish to the entire door surface (front, back, top, bottom, sides, and any cutouts or details). This will help seal the door from water and moisture.

Extra sanding and prep may be needed when applying darker stains and glazes.

GUARANTEE

Products must be inspected upon receipt. Our guarantee covers the replacement of doors and drawer fronts in an unfinished state and in good condition, as originally delivered F.O.B. or from Will Call.

Any Variation from our normal construction specifications is not guaranteed (i.e. reducing the thickness of a panel or frame). A warp or twist of 3/16” or less is not considered a defect. A twist is measured by placing the face of the door against a true plane surface.

Doors area manufactured to the nearest 1/16th of an inch. Corona Millworks will not be held responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control (i.e. obstruction or blockage of transportation routes, unavoidable accidents, riots, natural disasters, vehicle shortages, prevention of labor, power shortages, or lack of materials).

There are no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.

PAINT GRADE MATERIALS

Corona Millworks recommends the use of an MDF panel for all painted projects. MDF is not as susceptible to expansion and contraction like solid wood is. The surface is smooth making it ideal for paint, and it minimizes hairline cracks that can occur when using solid glue-up panels. If paint grade materials are selected for panels, Corona Millworks does not guarantee against hairline cracks that generate from normal wood expansion/contraction causing the staves to reveal lines in the solid wood panel.

E-Series doors fabricated with REHAU materials are finished with zero-joint laser edgeband applied with a true laser edgebander. The edgeband’s pre-applied, co-extruded polymer functional layer replaces glue that is traditionally used, providing a superior and seamless joint between the edgeband and board. The bond is equal to or greater than PUR which creates an upscale finished product with long term quality.

Corona Millworks Thermo Foil doors are composed of an MDF core with a thermo wrapped covering. They do not chip or flake and are uniform in color. These doors are available in a wide range of colors, finishes, and textures. From solid colors, to wood grains, to high-gloss options we offer finishes to fit most any design style.
