CULTIVATING HOPE

Plants and Indigenous Knowledge Knowledges held by Indigenous Peoples worldwide include ethics of respect and responsibility between humans and the more-than-human world. These insights broaden our shared understandings of how to live in balance with Earth’s annual cycles of regeneration. Plants provide us with many gifts and there are Indigenous teachings that offer guidance in return. These ongoing practices of reciprocity can similarly guide us in nurturing our communities in relation to all beings. Sweetgrass braid (Hierochloe odorata)
