The Aerobic Garden is inspired by the Quai de Branley museum, designed by Jean Nouvel, loctaed in Paris, France. Two imporatnat ideas synthesized from the Qaui de Branley are pushing and pulling of blocks, and a billboard-esque glass screen became prominent features within this project.

The Screen begins a journey throughout the entire project, beginning in a healing garden courtyard space, where tennis and basketball courts, a cafe , and outdoor seating is located. Following the path into the athletic complex, the gym goers pass the front desk and are guided to the pool on the first level or onto the second level into a large weirght room space, full track, and small activity rooms are found, as well as a beautiful view of the site and surrounding city.

TERRAFORM is a theater space located in Austin, Texas that is meant to blend into SXSW performance trail and respond to the city’s rich Wcultural scene.
Based on the idea of “balance between human and nature” this project takes shape in two parts. First, by following the curves of topography lines that creep up from Waller Creek to create seating for an outdoor event space, eventually making their way up and wrapping around the main enclosed theater. The second part of this project, the enclosed theater space, is designed through orthogonal moves, giving the space a stiffer, more structured aura. The balance returns with a wrapping effect jutting out of the manufactured space into the natural space completing the blend between the two. There is a distinct split in the form of a large, quarried rock wall; rough on the side facing the creek, or “natural” and smooth on the side facing the “man-made” to enhance the idea of balance between the two spaces. This project explores the relationship between man-made and nature because there is a constant fight for power between both forces, but ultimately the two must find equilibrium.

4 TERRY AND JO HARVEY ALLEN ARCHIVE AND DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATER.
