SUMMER SIP
AUGUST 2024
AUGUST 2024
I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer and a little bit of R&R. As your new Chapter President, we kicked off my two-year term with our Board of Directors Retreat in April, followed by the annual Awards of Excellence in May. I’m excited and invigorated to partner with the rest of your Executive Committee, Advisory Council, and Board of Directors to shape the present and future of our thriving Chapter.
Although summer is generally a quieter season for the Chapter, I want to sincerely thank our committee volunteers for their dedication and hard work in organizing and hosting various initiatives and events. You can find more information about these summer activities and programs in this newsletter, and I encourage you to get involved in our upcoming fall programs.
Here’s a glimpse of our vibrant summer events, where connections were made, achievements celebrated, and insights shared across our community:
• As the weather started to warm, and right before Memorial Day, we kicked off the season in style at our largest event of the year, The Annual Awards of Excellence on May 23, where we celebrated industry achievements and networked the night away at the Westin Boston Seaport District.
• Our DEI Committee hosted this year’s CREST interns for an evening of live music and conversations with chapter mentors on June 11.
• Connections were made at the Career Strategies + Development Committee’s annual Summer Soirée atop Margulies Perruzzi stunning rooftop deck on July 18.
Our Chapter Sponsors are vital to this organization, and one of my favorite events, the Annual Sponsor Appreciation Event, will be held on September 19 at InterSystems Office on the 11th Floor at One Congress – thank you to Kathryn Hester with Intersystems for hosting! More details will be sent to Chapter Sponsors in the coming weeks.
I hope to see many of you at our 23rd Annual Golf Tournament on October 8 - a portion of proceeds from this event will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. We still have some sponsorship packages and foursomes remaining, and if you don’t think your skills are strong enough to play in a foursome, we do have some spots left in the Golf Clinic that day so you can improve your skills!
Stay tuned for quarterly updates from me and the rest of the Executive Committee, as we keep you informed about all the exciting developments and progress within the Chapter!

• Networking was in full swing at the Young Leaders and DEI committee’s Golf Clinic at Granite Links on August 6. The rain stopped just in time for a memorable evening with our 2024 CREST Interns. Participants enjoyed two hours of golf with expert golf professionals, followed by networking under the tent.
• The Young Leaders Committee also hosted two insightful ACCESS Lunches (Aspire, Connect, Communicate, Educate, Share, Socialize) with Jacqueline Falla with Elaine Construction on June 25 and Mike Brucato with CBRE on August 20.
Thank you to all the volunteers who attended and helped plan these exciting events. If you didn’t make it to an event this summer there will be plenty of opportunity this fall, check out our upcoming events here.
Upcoming Events
Summer in New England means heat and humidity! So we asked our members the burning question: what’s their favorite place to swim during the sweltering summer? From the rocky coast of Maine to the dunes of the Cape it’s no surprise we prefer a beautiful day on the beach!
We’re excited for our 23rd Annual Charitable Golf Tournament at Pinehills Golf Club on Thursday, October 8! There are only five sponsorship packages and eight golf clinic spots remaining, and foursomes are selling quickly!
Don’t miss your chance to join us for a wonderful day on the links with peers and colleagues, and to support a great cause - a portion of proceeds from raffle tickets and mulligan sales will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston!

Happy Summer from the University Relations Committee at The New England Chapter of CoreNet Global!
As we enjoy the sunny days and warm weather, we’re also eagerly looking ahead to the upcoming school year. We are thrilled to announce that the CoreNet Global - New England Chapter University Relations Committee will once again be kicking off the university road show this coming fall to speak at various schools around Boston, including Boston College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston University, and Suffolk University!
The University Relations Committee aims to educate students on the exciting opportunities in corporate real estate, a facet of real estate that is generally not covered in most undergraduate Real Estate Programs. If you are an alum of these schools, a passionate corporate end-user, or just interested in getting more involved in the CoreNet Global - New England Chapter community, please reach out to Brynn Woessner. Additionally, if your alma mater is not on list and you’d like it added, please let us know! Let’s continue to give back by sharing our experience and make this school year impactful and inspiring for the next generation of industry leaders!
Our 7th year of partnership with CREST (Commercial Real Estate Success Training), just concluded, and we were thrilled to have welcomed 22 interns this summer. Each intern was paired with a mentor from the Chapter for the opportunity to gain insight into the corporate real estate industry through hands-on work experience and leadership training.
As a Champion Sponsor of the program, The New England Chapter of CoreNet Global provided financial support to our participating Corporate Partners and Founders Circle Platinum Sponsors. We’re already looking ahead to 2025! If you are interested in mentoring a CREST intern, you can learn more on the chapter’s website , information on 2025 opportunities will be announced soon.
