With 30 years of hospitality industry employments up to Operations Director level, I was initially sceptical about a move to the leisure industry when Stuart contacted me for the General Manager Designate role with his client.
However, his insight into the opportunity and sponsorship of the process helped me realise what a fantastic opportunity it was.
Where some businesses in Hospitality and Retail had felt relatively distressed in 2024, my meeting with the senior team at Haven had felt like very adult and progressive conversations.
At the point that an offer of employment was being made, Stuart undoubtedly helped shape that into an offer which was comparable to the previous Director roles I had held.
My time with there has been exceptional and the scope of role is extremely diverse.
As they say ‘it is like being the mayor of a town’ and I would highly recommend it to anyone who like I, has delivered national operations roles and is looking for an improved sense of community, accomplishment and quality of living.
I live in Derbyshire with my family and spend 3 to 4 nights per week on park in Lincolnshire which is about 2 hours from home.
For the right person and family, this is not a negative of the role, but a wonderful benefit.
