ACT/SAT Boot Camp This program is designed to provide training and preparation to take the SAT/ACT Exam. Instructor Andrew Stuhl is a professional, full-time math tutor with 15 years experience and an expert in SAT/ ACT math preparation. Dates: TBA • 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $329 for two, three-hour sessions

Belly Dance This beautiful, ancient dance form includes flowing, graceful movements such as undulations and figure 8's, as well as torso isolations and rhythmic articulations of the hips. Movements take inspiration from the folklore of Turkey and Arabic countries. Mondays • 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost: $96 per 8-week session or $15/single class

Cheer & Poms Poms (Ages 4 to 8) Students will do musical stretching to kid's favorite songs, learn techniques for motions, jumps and stunting. Cheers, chants and pom pom dance routines will be learned so students may perform at local events and for families. Class material progresses and changes from month to month. Instructed by Joy Deco Enterprises. (14 max per class, 5 minimum) Ages 4-8 | Thursdays • 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Cost: $48 per 4-week session

Code Explorers (Ages PK-4 to 13) Code Explorers Pre-University Programs are available during the school year at the City of Coral Springs. Engineering, technology, and computer science subjects for all creative minds. Programs are developed by Engineers, Computer Scientists, and Instructional Designers. Tuesdays Session I (8-weeks) • September – November Session II (6-weeks) • November – December Cost: $100 plus one-time supply fee per 8 week session

Kids Day Off Joy Deco Inc. is offering Kids in Action, Kids Days Off sports programs (Ages 5–11) including soccer, basketball, kickball, obstacle course, dodgeball, field hockey. The activities include zumba, dance aerobics, theatre games, gymnastics, cheerleading, arts and crafts and team building activities. Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins the day of.

Kickstart Soccer (Ages 18 mo. to 4) A child development program that uses a variety of fun games and activities to delight and engage kids in physical activity. Curriculum is designed to develop motor skills, enhance soccer skills, promote fitness and create self-confidence. We stress a non-competitive environment and promote fun above all else. Kidokinetics (Ages 3 to 6) Kidokinetics, our original program, aids in the development of happy, healthy and confident children through play. We introduce a different sport and basic skills each week with fun games, drills and exercises. Children learn how to set goals and adopt a "Yes I Can" attitude which sets them up for building confidence. Each child is able to work at their own pace in a fun nurturing environment. September - January • Mondays • 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.

Creative Movement & Tumble (Ages 3 to 5) Children will begin class with music warm up and creative movement. Props like the parachute, scarves and bean bags will be used for variety. Tumbling skills will be learned along with balance beam, tunnel and other coordination equipment. Instructed by Joy Deco Enterprises. (10 max per class, 5 minimum) Sneakers and comfortable clothing suggested. Tuesdays • Ages 3-5 • 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Fridays • Ages 2.5-4 • 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Cost: $48 per 4 week session

Dynamic Self Defense (Ages 12 & Up) Formally Aikido • A non-aggressive Japanese Martial Art – self defense oriented for men, women and teenagers. Learn to use the opponents energy against themselves with virtually no strength needed. Great for beginners or experienced practitioners. Aikido teaches fluid movements as you perform simple effective techniques. Classes taught by Shihan Michael D’Angona, 5th degree Black Belt with over 20 years experience in the Japanese Martial arts. Mondays • 7 to 8 p.m. Cost: $50 per 4-week session

Funtastic Gymnastics (Ages 4 to 9) Each week, we host different event or skill to increase the children’s interest and progress. Our program offers the horizontal training bar for strength and the small balance beam for agility and coordination. Owner Beth Budnick has been teaching more than 30 years. Mondays • 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. or 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Kidokinetics Jr., (Mommy & Me• Ages 1.5 to 3 years) focuses on child development through movement. A variety of sports and activities will be introduced each week, helping develop fine/gross motor skills, strengthen muscle/bones, and enhance coordination. All in a safe, structured environment. Ease your child into social situations with support and confidence. Lil' Sluggers (Ages 2 to 4) A child development program created to introduce toddlers to the game of baseball. Classes develop important baseball skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Developmentally appropriate equipment and games are used to teach your child the game of baseball in a fun, exciting and positive environment. Okinawan Karate (Ages 4 to 18) Trust your child's self-defense instruction with Scott Ashley, a lawenforcement officer with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Scott is a sixth-degree black belt, a former world kickboxing champion and is currently on staff at Broward College, where he teaches defensive tactics to Police recruits. Children enrolled in the program will develop discipline, respect and self-confidence while learning self-defense. Shooting Stars (Ages 3 to 6) Teaches young children basketball fundamentals like dribbling, passing and shooting while emphasizing motor skills development, all in a FUN non-competitive environment. Sticky Fingers (Ages 2 to 7) Sticky Fingers is an ongoing arts and crafts class designed for young children which encourages creativity in a fun and positive environment. Students will explore different art mediums through hands-on activities using paint, clay, tactile textures, etc. with parental and instructor assistance. Stronger Girls (Ages 7 to 12) Investing in our girls emotionally and spiritually to make for a better community and help navigate life. We are a community-based organization and gather weekly to empower girls through yoga, art, mindfulness, wellness education, music, outdoor adventures with community projects and service. Wednesdays • 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Cost: $60 per 4 week session

Triple Threat Basketball (Ages 7 to 14) An on-going after school basketball academy where boys and girls learn the fundamentals of basketball. Through drills, games and team activities, your child will take their game to the next level. Whether your child is just starting off or is looking to sharpen their skills before school try-outs, this academy will help make them the best player they can be! Classes will begin in March.

Tumbling & Acrobatics (Ages 4 to 12) Tumblers will learn floor stretches, splits, bridges, rolls, cartwheels, handstands and other acrobatic tricks and routines. Tumble aids will be used to help promote technique and build a strong base for this sport. Class is fun and children move through obstacle courses to keep all children in motion and learning. This class builds selfconfidence, promotes self-expression and teaches a safe way to tumble. Instructed by Joy Deco Enterprises. NEW DANCE CLASSES! Triple Threat Performing Arts (Ages 4 to 18) Triple Threat Performing Art is now offering dance classes in Coral Springs! Classes include jazz, musical theater, hip hop, tap, lyrical/contemporary and voice. Triple Threat Performing Arts is run by Sondra Bonitto. Sondra graduated from The Boston Conservatory of Music with a major in musical theater and a minor in dance and directing. She has been awarded on the competition circuit for best choreography, first overall, "musical theater at its best", "poetry in motion" and "most entertaining. Sondra looks forward to sharing her experience with her new adventure, Triple Threat Performing Arts. Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins the day of. Sports Clinics Sports clinics for baseball, basketball, football and soccer are scheduled to register during winter and spring breaks. For schedule information, visit CoralSprings.org/sports or call 954-345-2200.

Simply Soccer Camps (Ages 5 to 15) Simply Soccer stresses the four components of soccer. Camp Director Gary Curreri has a USSF National License, a USSF National Youth License, and a Florida Youth Soccer Association State Staff Coach. Full-day participants receive a free T-shirt, certificates and written evaluation of their performance for the week. Campers must bring a soccer ball, swim suit, shin guards, water bottle and lunch. Kreul Basketball Tournament December 18-21 This will be the 29th annual Kreul Classic, one of the country’s premier boys’ high school basketball tournaments. Spanning four days, the 2018 Kreul will feature some of the nation’s top-rated teams. Along with the best South Florida programs, teams from Coral Springs High, Coral Springs Christian and Coral Springs Charter will have the opportunity to test their skills and make memories while playing in this exceptional national event. Rent a Pavilion! Host your next birthday party or event at one of our parks! Rent a pavilion the whole day or for 2 hours or less. Friday Night Dinner Club

The Friday Night Dinner Club is a program designed for adults with special needs to socialize in a restaurant setting. Once a month, the group will go to a different restaurant while under the supervision of Parks and Recreation staff members. September 20 • Wings Plus• 16430 A3

Community Bus Program This bus service is available throughout the City. There are two routes, Green and Blue, that travel to the Coral Square Mall, several shopping centers, City parks, and Broward Health Coral Springs. Diving is a full-scale recreational program featuring state-of-theart equipment in one of the best outdoor facilities in the country. Students develop strength, flexibility and confidence while learning how to dive properly from the springboards and platforms. This program accommodates children ages 6 to 18 of all skill levels. Coral Springs Fitness Center Get and stay fit at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex Fitness Center. Our gym will meet all of your fitness needs. Our fitness equipment is second to none, including free weights, Body Masters, Hammer Strength and free motion machines. To keep your heart healthy, we have treadmills, both recumbent and upright bikes, Stairmasters and EFX Cross trainers. As always, expect total quality service from the staff of personal trainers on site to lend a helping hand. So don’t delay, come check us out today. Coral Springs Swim Club The Coral Springs Swim Club is a year-round competitive swimming program for children and young adults. The Club has consistently ranked in the top three swim clubs in the nation for teaching stroke excellence. Several Olympic and current World Champions train with our elite coaching staff. Tryouts: Ages 12 and under at Mullins Park Pool from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ages 13 and older at the Aquatic Complex at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Coral Springs Water Polo Club This year-round water polo program is designed to enhance and improve basic water polo skills for school-age participants. Bronze Water Polo Membership Fee required, if competing – see coach for details. Masters and Adult Swim Program

Celebrate with us!

Looking for a change in your regular workout schedule? Why not swim? The Coral Springs Masters and Adult Fitness Swim Program is a year-round adult program designed for swimmers of all abilities. The main focus of the program is to improve stroke, endurance, health and fitness. Triathletes are welcome. Competitions are available but not required.

Daytime Workouts: Aquatic Complex Monday-Friday • 6 to 7:30 a.m. • 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Evening Workouts: Mullins Park Pool Monday-Thursday • 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $50 per month (plus Pool Membership/U.S. Registration) To participate in the program, you must be 18 years old and be able to swim 500 yards.

Senior Fitness Classes The Fitness Center at the Aquatic Complex is now offering free fitness classes designed for Coral Springs residents age 62 and older. The classes use state-of-the-art equipment that was developed for maximum muscle and bone density regrowth. A personal trainer and geriatric nurse will be teaching each session. The sessions are easy, upbeat and fun! Class times vary. Call for details.

Stretch-N-Flex

Low-impact, range of motion water exercises. This class is held at either Cypress Park Pool or the Aquatic Complex. Swim Training and Technique A year-round program for ages 10 and up that develops strength, technique and endurance. This also includes advanced swimming skills, stretching, drills and techniques related to competitive swimming. Must pass a pre-requisite test offered every Tuesday with the coach from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays & Thursdays • 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $50 per month

Synchronized Swim Team (Aquacades) Enjoy dancing? Enjoy swimming? Try combining the two and give synchronized swimming a chance. Synchronized swimming is probably one of the most beautiful of all aquatic sports. It combines the skills of gymnastics, dance and swimming with the strength and endurance of weight lifting. Try-it classes are offered on Wednesday • 6 to 7 p.m. Tryouts for the team will be held on September 4 at 6p.m.

Water Aerobics

Water Aerobics is a medium-to-high impact aerobics program at the Cypress Park Pool or Aquatic Complex. This activity is available for adults and children age 13 or older. The program involves a 30-minute, heart-pumping cardiovascular workout with 30 minutes of muscle-building strength training.

Cypress Water Park Cypress Water Park features a unique clover shape, non-competitive swimming pool and two water park attractions (one for toddlers, another for older kids) featuring spouting fountains, water cannons and slides.

American Red Cross Learn to Swim American Red Cross Swimming Lessons Lessons are offered at Mullins Park, Cypress Park and the Aquatic Complex. All participants ages 3 and older must be swim tested, or present an American Red Cross skills card if registering for anything other than a Level I class. • Fall Lessons will start on September 7. Parent and Child (30 min.)(Ages 6 months - 3 years) Children learn basic skills through blowing bubbles and playing with water toys. Parents work with their children to practice floating, kicking and swimming back to the side of the pool. This is not survival swimming. This class will get the child acclimated to lessons.

Preschool Aquatics Preschool I (45 min.) (Ages 3 to 5)

Adult Swim (Ages 13 & up) Adult Beginner Basic Level I (45 min.) Class is designed to teach adults and teens 13 and older to overcome their fear of the water and to learn basic skills to achieve a minimum level of water competency.

Learn to Swim Course (Ages 6 & up) Level I: Introduction to Water Skills (45 min.) Helps participants feel comfortable in water. Skills include back float, treading water, coordinating arm and leg movements, and age-appropriate water safety.

Level II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills (45 min.) Builds on skills learned in Preschool Aquatics OR Learn to Swim Level I. Learning objectives will include enter water by jumping, floating front and back and changing direction of travel.

Stroke Development III Course will build on skills learned in Fundamentals. The dolphin and breaststroke kicks will be introduced to prepare for the butterfly and breaststroke swimming.

Swim America (Ages 3 to 12) Teaches water safety skills for the beginner and the four competitive strokes to the more advanced swimmers. The program is also an excellent preparation for swimmers who would like to join the Coral Springs Swim Club. It offers a low child-to-teacher ratio, a flexible schedule as the children progress at their own pace. Classes are held continuously throughout the year and are taught at the Aquatic Complex. Stroke Improvement IV & Refinement V Course develops confidence and builds endurance in strokes learned in the previous classes and includes further coordination and refinement of all strokes. Skills introduced include tuck and pike surface dives, and flip turns.

Sawgrass Nature Center The Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital (SNC) is an environmental learning center and wildlife rehabilitation facility located in Sportsplex Park. The Center is open to the public for self-guided tours or any of our special programs. The SNC also operates a wildlife rehabilitation facility caring for injured, sick and orphaned native wildlife with the hope of releasing them back into the wild. There will be raffles, giveaways and refreshments, all happening at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, 2501 Coral Springs Drive. The event is open to all seniors and family members, residents or business owners who offer services to seniors.

Holiday Parade 2019

Children will enjoy a non-scary haunted house that weaves through decorated indoor classrooms and then have a chance to play in bounce houses and on slides. The parade begins at Coral Springs Drive and travels east to City Hall. Entry and sponsorship information, as well as details on road closures, will be available at CoralSprings.org/holidayparade.
