JOSÉ MILTON A Legendary Visionary

For the Milton Family, there is no better place to work than in Coral Gables! “We will always call Coral Gables our home, for business and family, as my father moved here in 1962. He raised his family here, built his empire, and changed the lives of many through his generosity and job-creation. Today Milton family members continue to live and work in the City Beautiful,” says Cecil Milton, who, together with his two brothers, Joseph and Frank, own and run José Milton & Associates and United Property Management.

The José Milton Foundation invests in South Florida by supporting numerous local non-pro ts such as Jackson Health Foundation, Alfalit International, University of Miami, Zoo Miami Foundation, United Way, and American Red Cross Miami. The Foundation’s largest gift to-date is to Jackson Health Foundation, to name Jackson Health System’s newest 100-bed hospital in the City of Doral, the José Milton Memorial Hospital at Jackson West.

From real estate visionary to warm-hearted philanthropist, José Milton is known as a legendary architect and developer of high-quality residential design and construction projects throughout South Florida since 1963. The family-owned and operated real estate development company has contributed to the transformation of the South Florida skyline at many economic levels. As a vertically integrated corporation, José Milton & Associates performs its own land acquisitions and architectural planning, construction, nancing, sales, and marketing. José Milton, a Cuban immigrant of Lebanese heritage, arrived in Miami with a dream, a brilliant mind for business, and a degree in Architecture from Universidad de La Habana. In addition to the many buildings and communities he developed, he left us with the José Milton Foundation. His wish was that his legacy support programs and organizations in South Florida that improve the quality of living, with a special focus on education, research, and healthcare.

As part of the family’s commitment to our community, they created the “UPM Cares” program to o er teachers and administration of Miami-Dade and Broward County Public Schools and military families $0 application fee, $0 administrative fee, and $0 security deposit towards their apartment living plus no credit check. We also support our frontline heroes with other incentives.

The Milton’s have been recognized by the City of Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County, and other local institutions numerous times. The Miami-Dade County Commission named the street 9500 Fontainebleau Blvd. “José Milton Way.” The Coral Gables Community Foundation honored the Milton Family with the Education Award, and the University of Miami recognized Ana VeigaMilton with the Dean’s Innovation Award.
