The Copernicus Marine Service Ocean State Report (OSR) is a periodically published scientific report written by more than 100 scientific experts from more than 30 European institutions. It is a comprehensive and state-of-the-art assessment of the current state, natural variations, and changes in the ocean. It is meant to act as a reference document for scientists, the Blue business community, policy and decision-makers as well as the general public. This year we have also published a report summary (above) intended to provide some context and basic scientific explanation surrounding the key findings in the report.
The 2nd edition of the OSR, which provides information on changes and variations in the ocean over the past decades, focuses on changes in the marine environment during the year 2016.
