What’s On List

THE Kandanga & District Swimming Club is hosting a family-friendly bush dance at the Kandanga Hall on 12 August.

This community event, supported by funding from the Gympie Regional Council’s Community Grants Program 2022/2023, aims to bring people together for a night of dancing, laughter, and connection.

Kandanga & District Swimming Club treasurer Diane Cleary said the bush dance is a great opportunity to come together as a community, learn some bush dances, meet new people, and have fun with family and friends.

“Live music by The Grey Cats Band will lead us through some favourite old dances including the Heel and Toe Polka, Strip the Willow, the Flying Pieman and Gypsy Tap.

“For something a little more current, try the Nutbush, Cha Cha Slide and Macarena.

“All dances will be called to enable everyone to join in.”

There will be a shared supper during the interval and prizes for the best bush-dancing outfits.

“We will have lucky tickets, lucky spots, and prizes for the best dancing too.

“Don’t forget to pre-book your tickets as numbers are limited,” Diane said.
