PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Growing God's Kingdom through Excellence in Education Cooloola Christian College is a wonderful community made up of many different people with diverse gifts and talents. During this term our families have joined in a great evening of fun and dancing at our Bush Dance. Everyone had a great time dancing along to The Smashing Bumpkins and we were able to donate much needed financial support to Hope Reins, an organisation that has, in turn, provided support to our school and students.

During Week 7, several of our Year 12 student leaders organised IMPACT, an opportunity for Secondary students to stay back at school one

afternoon for fun, food and fellowship. They were able to share together about the importance of prayer and the difference that a relationship with Jesus has made in their lives. This event was a great reminder of how important our value of Community is in our school, I was so excited to see students supporting each other across year groups.

Finally,

congratulations to our school community for achieving the top NAPLAN results in the region!

This is a great endorsement of the hard work and long hours that our teachers put in, the great support that families are providing to their children, and of course to the students themselves for their commitment to learning.

COFFEE...COMMUNITY...

CONNECTION...SOLID GROUNDS COFFEE @CCC At Solid Grounds Coffee we believe coffee is more than just a caffeine hit; it is a way to catch up, to connect, to care, a way to develop community.

In response to customer feedback, we have been trialling a new earlier start time of 8am. We hope this earlier time will be more convenient for you to get your coffee fix on your way to work or school drop off. Solid Grounds Coffee is now open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8.00am to 2.30pm.

This term we introduced Winter Warmers at Solid Grounds Coffee. On Wednesdays each week we had a different variety of homemade soup available. We have also added some sweet treats to our menu, with a variety of homemade slices, biscuits and cakes available each week.

Plans are underway to build a fenced seating area for parents with young children to relax with a coffee while the children run and play.

Until that plan comes to fruition, our mobile coffee cart located near the ELC, can service your coffee needs.

SOLOMON ISLANDS MINIS

WHY ...

The Solomon Islands ministry was born out of recognising God’s desire for our lives that we must trust God’s plan and not our own. A faith in God without action results in a failure to fulfil Gods purpose for our lives as we are to be Christs hands and feet. This ministry trip and everything that this entails, is an instrument God uses to help us learn to trust Him in deeper and profound ways.

HISTO RY ...

The first trip was in September 2006 to Gizo and Marivari in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands for 14-days. The trips since then have occurred biannually, and this year’s trip will be the 7th. The Western Provence is where we will be spending majority of our time again, visiting the islands of Gizo, Vella Le Vella, New Georgia and Roviana. We fly into and out of the capital of Honiara which is on the island of Guadalcanal.

The trip itself is from the 15th to the 30th of September, however the ministry experience is much larger with hopefully, lifelong implications. Students apply to be on the team and once selected the preparation for the trip begins. Each team member makes a commitment to - find a mentor, meet regularly with the team and mentor, be praying for the team, trip and each other, reading their bible and regularly attending church. Major activities leading up the trip include the Moto feast, team building weekend and fundraising. On returning from the Solomon’s we continue to meet together regularly to debrief, reflect on the trip and personal growth.

A brief outline of some of the activities we will be doing – • Visiting local Church’s where we will run services, youth and children’s programs.

• Prison visit – running an evening worship service • Hospital’s Visit – talking, praying, encouraging and singing with people who are unwell.

• Schools - youth and children’s programs including educational activities based around the Solar buddy lights.

• Noro Wesleyan Methodist Bible College – assisting with building projects • Tourist activities – WW 2 memorials, shopping in and visiting local markets and visiting some local attractions on each island.

CCC students have consistently performed well in both NAPLAN tests and OP results over many years. This is a testament to the commitment of our staff who understand the importance of providing an excellent academic education in a safe, supportive and caring learning environment. Every one of our staff, from our Admin team to our Teachers, from Groundskeepers to the Tuckshop and Uniform Shop understand that excellent student outcomes are achieved by everyone working together for our students and their families. Care about the Share Social media wants you to share as much as you can bear! But the share should be rare.

NEVER share: passwords, private/personal information, your location.

Privacy Matters If you care about the share, you’ll protect your privacy, no matter what. Regularly check your privacy settings on social media, and always think before you post. It’s amazing where data ends up – usually all over the internet.

Respect the Privacy of Others Treat others’ privacy as you would your own. Ask for your friends’ permission before uploading photos and videos of them. It’s not all about you, amiright?

Keep Everything Updated Any idea what causes the most security breaches on the internet? Software that isn’t up-to-date. Seems crazy simple, but it’s true!

Be vigilant about updating software, including apps, anti-virus and even the humble browser.

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spammidy-spam Even with the best anti-spam and malware software – that’s up-to-date – spam is the modern version of junk mail. It’s everywhere!

Learn how to tell the difference between real emails and messages, and dodgy things with dodgy links. Sometimes they don’t look so dodgy...always be suspicious of hyperlinks in emails.

Cyberbullying and Harassment If you’re being targeted by this kind of behaviour, know what you can do, and where you can get help. Visit the National Centre Against Bullying website and the Office of the eSafety Commissioner’s website.

8. Keep Your Friends Close and Strangers at Arm’s Length Do you know how many true friends most people have? Three. Yup, those four thousand and fifty-two Facebook ‘friends’ are a combination of acquaintances, peopleyou-met-once, people-you-can’t-remembermeeting-once, and probably, some ‘randoms’.

They don’t need to know what you had for breakfast, or what concert you went to last night, do they?

Feel the Flow – Keep Your Life in Balance Technology is incredible. Gaming, networking, apps…online shopping! But make sure you take time out and find the right balance for you. Too long on tech can put the world out of whack.

IT UPDATES Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Secondary Students have been using BYOD for some time now, with great success. We have seen a wide variety of devices come through IT for various problems or assistance; some examples are: • Wireless connectivity • Accessing Office365 products • Broken or damaged devices With the use of Adobe products for some classes, we have also seen some devices that are not capable of running the software, which is usually due to a lack of storage space.

Another issue we have seen is restricted to students using Apple Mac devices and having to use Windows Access (database) as the default software. Windows Access does not have an Apple App or similar alternative, which has caused some difficulties.

We currently have a number of the older Surfaces, in the Learning Hub, that are available for students who have not had access to their device for a time. Unfortunately, the number of devices, in the Learning Hub, is now reduced and there will be very few available for ad hoc loans during Term 4 and into 2019. Ad hoc device loans will only be available for students who do not have access to their own device because it is awaiting repair or similar reasons for a minimum of two days; a parental note may be required to support the use of a College owned device, from the Learning Hub. Thinking of Upgrading for 2019?

Previously we have identified the minimum specifications for BYOD use within the College, which has been most successful. Looking to the future, it is suggested that, when selecting a device, you should also include a hard drive of at least 128GB (256GB preferred), preferably SSD (Solid State Drive) to minimise damage; and, a battery life of at least 10 hours. Unfortunately, we have minimal charging facilities within the College and trailing leads within the classroom are a potential trip hazard. eSafety The Office of the eSafety Commissioner has an excellent Parent Portal for helping you understand and have conversations with your children about eSafety; please follow the link: https://www.esafety.gov.au/education-resources/iparent The College also takes eSafety very seriously and has various measures in place to help protect students from various online activities. Students should also be reminded that they have responsibilities too, for their own safety; the Acceptable Usage Agreement lists several ways in which we can all maintain a safe and civil online experience.

TIP: GIVING KIDS INDEPENDENCE

Sometimes the best thing we can do for our kids is to let them do for themselves.

When kids are very young we parent by controlling what they do. We tell them what to eat, where to go, and what they can and can’t get into. It’s our job to keep them safe and teach them right from wrong. But as kids get older, they start to assert more control over their lives—and that’s a good thing.

But many parents are so used to making decisions for their kids that they try to hang on to that control—sometimes for much longer than they should.

As kids reach the teen years, it’s important to let them think and do for themselves. They still need parenting, but on a different level. Instead of controlling what they do, our job is to guide and mentor them toward good decisions. If we’ve raised them right, this transition should come about naturally.

TIP: WHEN YOUR CHILD IS A BULLY It’s frustrating to learn that your child is being bullied at school. But what if you find out that your child is the bully?

The worst thing we can do when a problem like this arises is to look the other way. This type of behaviour doesn’t go away on its own.

Talk to your child about what it is that makes them want to bully others. Explain to them just how damaging their behaviour is to other kids, and let them know that it will no longer be tolerated. Then set clear consequences for their actions. And back up your words with action.

Keep an eye on them when they’re around other kids, even if you have to chaperone them on the playground. And make sure their teachers know about your zero-tolerance policy when it comes to your child’s bullying.

This is one childhood problem that needs to be addressed head-on.

SEAN W SMITH VISIT

YEAR 6 FATHERS DAY SOLAR BOAT TIME TEST CHALLENGE On Friday 31 August, the Year 6 students gathered at the Nature Space to time-test their solar boats with fathers, family and friends. Students competed for best time in order to be nominated for the Fraser Coast Maryborough Solar Boat Challenge later this month.

The team in first place was OCEAN RIDER with a best time of 10.56 secs, closely followed by SEA SERPENT and tied for third place was POWERTANIC and BETTY 15. Well done team Ocean Rider and all the teams that participated in the challenge!

The first Year 6 fundraiser was held with our Father’s Day Solar Boat Challenge! Through the Bake Stall and BBQ the Year 6 Team raised enough funds to purchase 11 solar buddy lights for the Solomon Islands Ministry! It was a great day!

We’ve had guest speakers such as Ros McVicar, the Advisor of Human Resources from Gympie Regional Council, come and speak to students about the importance of a good resume, cover letter and interview.

STAYING IN IRON & CLAY PERFORMANCE Iron+clay are a travelling group that visits schools with the goal to educate a younger generation towards understanding their value and the power of their life choices.

PREP Open Morning

SPANISH NEWS During the final week of Term 2, Spanish students in 7B celebrated a win in the inter-class Secondary Spanish Competition. Students in 7A, 7B, 8A and 8B spent several weeks battling to score the most points by completing Spanish language tasks on Education Perfect. Listening, writing, reading and speaking challenges were all completed, with some students very serious about gaining points. With a pizza party at stake, the ultimate winners were 7B, with a total of 14 403 points.

The top three points scorers from 7A, 8A and 8B were also invited to join the party. In total, secondary Spanish students answered a very impressive 64 209 questions. Some keen students achieved special awards, including Talia Harris and Grace Barnett reaching Gold Level, and William Bambling, Jake Covington, Jack Own and Emily Kernick all reaching Bronze Level. Well done to 7B for their win.

QFES visited Year 1 and Prep students to educate about fire safety.

Students learnt to ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’, ‘Get Down Low and Go, Go, Go’, ‘Don’t Hide! Scream and Shout!’, ‘Get Out and Stay Out’ and to discuss exits and meeting places as a family. The students had the opportunity to have a look at a fire truck up close and all the different features and functions on-board. Then came the exciting part!! They all got to have a go of using the small fire hose. It was so much fun!

STAYING IN Tim and Kevin from the Australian Defence Force came and spent time with our students who are interested in a possible career path in the Defence Force. Tim and Kevin shared some of their experiences in the Force, where it has taken them, along with helpful information on recruitment and the array of options on offer.

Year 11/12 Industrial Technology Furnishings Project Craftswoman: Momo, Year 11 Description: This project was inspired by similar designs by bespoke cabinet makers. The carcass is constructed in pine and encased in marine ply. The drawers are from recycled Cyprus Pine salvaged from One Mile Primary School. The finish is two pack automotive paint which was sprayed by a volunteer, Dave Chapman

REC STUDIES & GSSS Recreation Studies students ran a rotation of games, canoeing and climbing activities for a combination of Year 6 from GSSS and Year 5 from CCC. Rachael Alexander, the Deputy at GSSS sent a card thanking the Rec Studies students for a fun day for her students.

SHELL QUESTACON Our Primary classes will be visiting the Science Circus here at CCC on Monday 13th August in SBH. The Shell Questacon Science Circus is a major outreach program from Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre in Canberra. A Science Circus experience is designed to stimulate and challenge an exploration of science and technology among its audience and is an ideal basis for follow-on activities. The program is adapted to the age of the students, the shows cover a wide range of topics from bubbles and balance to collisions and chemistry and lots more.

GOING OUT Emily Williams, Year 11 student, had the opportunity to share with business leaders at the Gympie Chamber of Commerce Inc about their upcoming Ministry Trip to the Solomon Islands in September.

Thank you to businesses that generously donated money towards this valuable Ministry Trip.

Yr 9/10 Sustainability Excursion Students were able to visit a construction site which was the start of a rammed earth building being constructed. We also visited a house with a natural pool which had rainbow fish living in it.

Our Year 10s visited the Real Skills for Real Careers presentation at the Gympie Cinema. The Skills and Thrills showcase was put on by the Department of Education and The Department of Employment Small Business and Training. The Skills & Thrills Show is a careers showcase utilising music and film to provide students with inspiring information about industry trends, vocational education pathways and career outcomes.

Discover Youth Symposium 9 August some of our students had the privilege of attending the Discover: Youth & Careers Symposium - Community Event. They received valuable career advice throughout the day and heard from Queensland Chief Entrepreneur Steve Baxter from Shark Tank Australia.

Thanks Gympie Regional Council for providing a great event for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

GOING OUT On Tuesday 21 August 2, primary teams travelled to Gympie State High school to participate in the annual Maths Team Challenge.

This year there were many teams representing schools from around the district. Our teams represented our college well, working well together as a team as well as coming very close to a place in the relay event. They were respectful and well mannered, and enjoyed a pizza party after the event for the hard work that they had put in. Many thanks to Kym Ellingsen who drove students to and from the event and was a supervisor at the Challenge.

A number of CCC students had the opportunity to compete in the Gympie Eisteddfod held at the Civic Centre last week. Well done to all of them! Congratulations to the Primary Sacred Choir Group who placed 2nd at the Eisteddfod Friday morning. Fantastic effort! Great potential here among this little group of song birds.

Our Maths C team went to Dreamworld Australia this term to investigate damped oscillatory motion, force vectors, friction and momentum. They had a thrill of a time!

Year 11/12 Biology Excursion – 30th July On a warm, sunny July afternoon, Year 11/12 Biology students accompanied by Mrs Young, Mr Venz and Mr Davies walked down to the Mary River weir, near Kidd Bridge. Students have been learning in class about the chemical and biological indicators of good quality water which include temperature, dissolved oxygen levels and types of macroinvertebrates present in the water. The excursion is a good opportunity to test our local river water, and compare the data with that of past years. With the help of Mr Venz and Mr Davies, students were able to ascertain that the Mary River has good quality water. The data collected will be used in an Extended Response Task due later this term.

EISTEDDFOD HIGHLIGHT One of our Year 7 students, Brock Morgan, did particularly well. He achieved 1 First, 3 Second, 1 Third and 5 Highly Commended (2 were for piano) placements in a variety of categories. Last Friday evening he was awarded a trophy by the adjudicators for ‘Most Promising Male Speech & Drama Performer - 14 years & under’. Quite an achievement for someone so young - well done Brock!

Year 7 are perfecting their Trangia cooking skills in Outdoor Education, after using the same type of stove on camp. Trangias are very sustainable fuel stoves as there is no ‘single use’ part to them, as they use methylated spirits as a fuel source. Please note the great job those boys are doing of cleaning up after a healthy meal of noodles!

Special visits from the Japanese students was well received and shortly after it was a visit from the Solomon Island ladies that engaged the children.

The highlight, though, was the Sean W Smith concert where we worshipped our Lord God freely with the CCC Community and won a DVD for our amazing dancing abilities. Our involvement in the Little Kids Day Out had us all come together and celebrate the Early years whilst making our Fish Tanks as our contribution to the Under the Sea Art Installation.

YEAR 6 PEER LEADERSHIP “I enjoyed learning new things and becoming a better leader because of our Peer Support Program this term. It helped me to learn what optimism is and ways I can use and help others to be more positive as well. The best thing about peer leadership was seeing the children’s smiles when they were enjoying an activity. I can now approach tasks in a positive manner instead of just leaving and avoiding it. MAKE A STAND On Friday 10 August, a number of CCC Secondary students took part in Destiny Rescues’ ‘Make A Stand’ awareness and fundraising campaign. Together, students have raised over $5424 for Destiny Rescue.

Destiny Rescue is a Christian Not for Profit whose aim is to help change the lives of many children caught in exploitation. It is Destiny Rescue’s belief that no child should loose the right to feel safe, to feel joy or to have their freedom taken away from them.

Through Cooloola Christian College’s support, we will see children rescued from exploitation and restored. Join with us to help be a part of the change!

SENIORS WEEK MORNING TEA “On Tuesday 21 August, a number of senior students had the pleasure of serving some of Gympies’ seniors at the Seniors Week Morning Tea. It was excellent to see so many smiling faces as we served tea and coffee. It was a great experience to be able to serve these lovely people and to share their joy while they watched the performances, accepted awards and ate some really tasty food. Overall, we all enjoyed the morning tea and left with smiling faces”.

FIVER FOR A FARMER ‘Fiver for a Farmer’ was a great success! CCC & CCC Early Learning Centre students & families raised $1372.00 to help our farmers who are struggling with the current drought. Thank you for giving so generously! We pray that it will provide a small amount of relief.

CHAPLAINCY OUTREACH Chaplaincy Outreach this term was eventful with preparation beginning early with a team from the year 9 Service class. Our theme this term surrounded the Fruits of the Spirit. The students were involved in the message, games, craft activities and the overall running of the 3 sessions. They all shared about a fruit of the Spirit and how they show this fruit in their day to day. Pastor Brendan was our guest speaker for the day and he had everyone in stiches as “Little Johnny �. He expanded on the message and kept all the students and staff captivated.

In conjunction with our program, Gympie South State School also did a can drive giving over the donations to the Salvation Army.

We were excited to see the fruit of Love and Kindness on full display.

CADETS As one of the country ’s longest running cadet units, 75 years was marked by an anniversary parade, followed by a full service dress dinner with invited dignitaries and parents.

Ella and Alessandra attended a General Service Training camp at R A AF base Amberley over the June/July holidays. They experienced many things, the working dogs, fire station practices, firearm shooting and a flight in the C17 Globemaster Aircraft. The Loadmasters opened the rear cargo deck during the flight.

Sustainability Stewards were hard at it today labelling compost buckets to be distributed to classes and staffrooms as Compost Carers. They also continued their work as Worm Warriors, ensuring our worms are well cared for, and using the worm juice as food for the Garden Club’s vege patch. The tomatoes have almost finished, as too the once happy sunflowers, whilst the radishes and parsley are looking amazing. Thankyou to Tom, Jesse, Elena, Sofia, Liezl and Mackenzie for their time and efforts. We believe CCC can be waste-free by 2023!

This is Mackenzie Williams from Year 6B. She organised herself to walk and pick up rubbish over 4kms one Monday afternoon while her sister was at swimming. What a Sustainability Champion! Well done Mackenzie!

ILC NEWS The Year 10 Careers classes has been very active and productive throughout the term in preparation for their mock interviews and work experience.

At the beginning of the term they attended the Real Skills for Real Careers presentation at the Gympie Cinema. The Skills and Thrills showcase was put on by the Department of Education and The Department of Employment Small Business and Training.

For the first time they attended the Gympie Discover: Youth & Careers Symposium - Community Event where the student participated in multiple workshops from an array of different career pathways. At this event our very own Chairman of the Board and AgSolutions’ CEO, Julie Williams, was a panelist in the final session for the day. The students gathered a wealth of information about the many directions and career paths one can take.

Ros McVicar, the Advisor of Human Resources from Gympie Regional Council, came and spoke to students about the importance of a good resume, cover letter and interview. This was in preparation for their mock interviews. Kerry Donaldson from Busy at Work came and shared about school based traineeships and apprenticeships.

Our mock interviews were a success again with guest interviewers from AgSolutions, Woolworths, Dominos, Job Match and Gympie Regional Council. Every student went through the job application process; creating a resume, submitting a cover letter for a specific job and then attending an interview for that job. The students were thankful for this opportunity and gained confidence in the job application process.

Tim and Kevin, from the Australian Defence Force, also came and spent time with students who are interested in a possible career path in the Defence Force. Tim and Kevin shared some of their experiences in the Force, along with helpful information on recruitment and the array of options on offer.

40KM ENDURANCE RIDE AT STIRLINGS CROSSING, IMBIL “Taylor, at only 5 years old, compete in her first 40km Endurance ride held at Stirling’s Crossing a couple of weeks ago. RAIN AND ALL! We are so very proud of her! Her pony, Dee Dee, completed the ride with all A’s and 1’s and remarkable heart rates. They were escorted by Mark who also completed on Cajun. Taylor is very much looking forward to her next ride!” Saasha Grogen (Taylors’ Mum)

EQUESTRIAN FRASER COAST INTERSCHOOL COMP Late last week 4 students represented CCC at Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian Competition.They did their school proud. Our team members competed in Dressage, Western Dressage, Show Jumping, Hacking, and Stockman’s Challenge along with 246 other riders from 60 Qld private and state schools.

Taylor Grogan (Prep) Taylor got 1st in Bending, 4th in rider class, 6th in western dressage and 6th in trail. She has just recently mastered the canter, and after a busy 4 days at FCIEC, rode a 40km endurance ride the very next day in Imbil! Wow Taylor!

Ella Vizer (Year 4) A little super star, Ella rode extremely well, competing in all events and placing in all including 2nd in 60cm Jumping, 2nd in Prep C Dressage , 5th Preliminary Dressage 1.1, Western Dressage Intro C 5th, Western Dressage Basic B 5th, Dry workout 3rd, Extreme Trail 3rd, Stockman’s Challenge 3rd overall, Pleasure Hack 3rd, Barrels 1st, Bending 1st, Bounce Pony 1st.

Ella also won Reserve Champion for Year 4 age group! She has the wonderful ability to listen to instruction and put it into action.

Max Choveaux (Year 6) Max won 3 x 2nd placings in each of the sporting events, barrel racing, bending and bounce pony.

1st for 50cm show jumping 6th for Australian Pleasure Sophia Choveaux (Year 7) Sophia gave her nominated horse Star to her brother Max to ride when his pony became too sick to attend FCIEC, and she rode her new, less experienced horse Dexter..

She won 6th place in Western Dressage 3rd place in Australian Pleasure 3rd place in 70cm show jumping.

SPORTS BRAYDEN LINDSAY Brayden started at CCC this year, in Year 7, on one of our Sports Scholarships. Brayden has been accepted into the Australian Cricket Institute Junior Academy. This program is a great stepping stone for his development in both wicket keeping and batting. Well done Brayden!

The Australian Cricket Institute is a cricket coaching and player development company using new age techniques, tools and platforms to make quality cricket coaching available to everyone. The ACI takes a wholistic approach and endeavours to provide players with the skills to help develop every aspect of participants game by exposing them to professional players, coaches and industry experts in areas like fitness, nutrition and psychology that will benefit them on and off the field.

MATHIAS MARTIN Congratulations to Mathias Martin in Year 10 who was recently nominated as the Captain of the Wide Bay Rugby Team!

Mathias said of this tremendous honour, “This is the second year I have participated in Wide Bay Rugby Union, however, I have played with the majority of the team for almost 4 years. Throughout those 4 years I’ve tried my best to represent God, in a way that isn’t confronting, but to demonstrate the joy and kindness the Lord has given me.

I am extremely humbled by this honour as I will lead my teammates, not in my own leadership but, in God’s wisdom. I’ve tried to represent God in all that I do and to the best of my ability to serve people with joy in my heart as a humble servant and follower of God.” What a great blessing you will be to your teammates and the sport.

VERNON GRIEGER Hello a ll, my na me is Vernon Grie ger and I graduated Cooloola Christian Colle ge in 2016. I at tended CCC sinc e th e end o f Grade 1 in 2005.

What am I doing now?

What do I remember about CCC?

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Serious Games at the University of the Sunshine Coast. My premise for studying this degree is that everyone has different methods of learning material. I personally love to get my hands-on things and learn through playing/ experimenting, Serious Games teaches me how to create these simulations/experiences through software.

I remember CCC trying to be at the front of the game in terms of technology. I remember crafting 3D models and printing them on the 3D printer as well as intellectual conversations with teachers, especially Mr Olivier.

This has given me the opportunity to learn about and interact with the latest technology coming into the consumer market such as HoloLens, Virtual Reality, Robots and other cool things that you could dream of. I have recently begun volunteering for the Lab of Awesome where I get to show off these gadgets to school-aged students from around Queensland. I have one year left to complete my degree and I am excited about where it will take me next.

Thoughts I was never the brightest in academia, but I could speak through ideas and learn through theorising and discussing potential solutions with peers and teachers. Maybe one day students will be playing one of my games to learn about Chemistry (mixing elements in a simulated digital environment) or Biology (growing a tree on your phone) or Christianity (learning why you believe what you believe through investigation/debate).
