Spray Crews to Begin in July

Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative has partnered with U.S. Applicators, LLC to control the brush growing around our substations and along the electrical right-of-way. Effective vegetation management includes clearing and maintaining the right-of-way, which is a critical step to help ensure you have safe and reliable electricity. U.S. Applicators is a state-licensed Certified Commercial Applicator.

Crews plan to spray areas within the Cookson Hills Electric service territory beginning in July 2024. Applicator crews will primarily work in Sequoyah County and cover a small portion of Muskogee County, spraying around substations and the associated distribution power lines.

Vegetation management crews will selectively treat the right-of-way using products that impede the tall-growing brush and encourage the growth of grasses and low-growing vegetation. U.S. Applicators only use products registered by the Environmental Protection Agency. All products being used have no grazing restrictions. 19901

Crew members from U.S. Applicators can be identified by their lime green uniforms, which have the company name U.S. Applicators on the back. Their work vehicles will also have their company name and a Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative contractor sign attached. Each worker will carry a business card with a U.S. Applicator supervisor’s name and phone number.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure safe and reliable electricity for our members. If you have any questions or concerns about the vegetation management and spraying activities, please call us at 800-328-2368. We’re here to address any issues you may have.
