T WATTS Meet Cookson Hills Connect’s 1,000th subscriber

Rickey and Sherri Jones have lived in the same location for over 40 years and have done so without the luxury of fast and reliable internet services until June, 2022. While they aren’t as dependent on technology as many households today, they are excited about learning all the added benefits fiber brings to their lives, especially since Rickey has recently retired and has a little more “free” time on his hands. A lot of the new opportunities now available through fiber internet from Cookson Hills Connect are going to be completely new adventures for the Jones family. They are now able to stream their favorite television programs and movies, shop online, upgrade their security cameras, and are able to connect with family members no matter how far apart they are. However, the small fibers running to the Jones’ home have benefits far beyond technology. In fact, the benefit of fiber to the Jones’ land is almost beyond measure. The Joneses have five adult children and their son, Christian, is in the military and was deployed for service overseas on Father’s Day of this year. Rickey

said Christian’s love for gaming is what initially piqued his interest in the military and now Christian and his family, like most of us, depend heavily on the internet as part of daily life. For some time, Rickey and Sherri have tried to convince Christian and his family to “move back home” and build on the family land, but even the picturesque property surrounded by large pine trees wasn’t enough to persuade Christian to relocate. It simply wasn’t an option for Christian since there was no internet on this rural piece of ground – until now. “Once we told Christian we had fiber internet to the property, he told me to pick out a building spot,” said Rickey. [3413900] It’s a dream come true for Once we told Rickey and Sherri, and they Christian we are looking forward to next had fiber year when Christian returns internet to the home from his deployment, and Rickey can begin the property, he told process of building a new me to pick out a home for some wonderful new building spot” neighbors.
