2005 STAGE 1
$25 million plan presented by Geelong FC for the stadium and community facility
Included the Past Players and Ross-Drew Stands
New southern grandstand built to increase capacity to over 30,000 Fully completed in 2013
Replacement of the old Brownlow and Jennings stands to increase capacity by 2,500 to 36,000.
New grandstand at the northern end to increase capacity to over 40,000 Further facilities include new cricket hub, new entry plaza, new changing rooms and facilities
STAGES 1 - 5 (2005 - 2022)
GMHBA Stadium (traditionally known as Kardinia Park) is the home of football in Geelong and will be the largest regional stadium in Australia once stage 5 is completed. The $142 million investment by the Victorian State Government includes a new northern stand which will boost capacity by 14,000 to a total of 40,000.
The redevelopment also includes several other major improvements including a new northern entry plaza, change rooms, a regional cricket hub and replacement facilities for the Geelong Cricket Club, and new media facilities.
Cooke & Dowsett are proud to have been engaged on all five stages of the Kardinia Parks overall redevelopment, commencing in 2005. Each stage the requirements have been to deliver full design and construct Hydraulics Plumbing packages, detail of which are; water supply, potable water, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste drainage and treatment, roof and stormwater drainage including siphonic drainage systems, domestic hot water, tank compound for authority supply break and water reuse, significant civil stormwater, water and sewer works.
Supporting and contributing to the social procurement objectives for the project with local and indigenous workers and sourcing local suppliers CDPG's own priority social objectives are set on projects to ensure as a company we can plan socially responsible outcomes With a project this size and having support from the development it's encouraging for all to embrace these goals

Pre-Plumbed
Works are progressing nicely on Stage 5 of the GMHBA Stadium redevelopment with our modular prefabricated systems being installed in the ground floor cricket change room and event staff management areas. Geelong resident and fully qualified plumber Kelsey is enjoying working on the local landmark below with Raw GTO Apprentice Ben
The project is also targeting a minimum of 3% Indigenous employment with an aspirational goal of 6%, with a minimum of $1 2 million to be allocated to purchasing goods and services from social enterprises. CDPG are looking forward to hitting our project targets for client BESIX Watpac
