WHO WE ARE

When Chadd Cooke joined Scott Dowsett's plumbing business in 2008 to form Cooke & Dowsett, the union combined years of plumbing expertise and industry knowledge. The company has steadily grown allowing us to strengthen our offering under the umbrella of Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group (CDPG).

Our extensive experience on large projects span the accommodation, commercial, defence, education, health, infrastructure, retail, sports and leisure sectors.

Our continual expansion is largely due to our strategic vision and passion to be innovative, commercially aware of our surroundings and needs, encourage diversity within the group and ensure we are a company whose values go beyond financial gains.

IPP

CDPG INDIGENOUS PARTICIPATION PLAN

Our Indigenous Participation Plan (IPP) extends our existing Social Responsibility commitments and reinforces our long term commitment to diversity throughout our business Implementing our IPP helps us with progressing our objectives while encouraging opportunities as they arise Building a business where we are all on equal terms builds understanding and trust Our IPP reinforces our long term commitment to investing in and increasing Indigenous participation within the group.

Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Groups' long term passion for the development of Indigenous Australians within the plumbing industry has provided a ripple effect Not only has the selfesteem and overall wellbeing of the participants in the program been enhanced but so too has the knowledge and ability to affect real change in the improvement of sanitation and delivery of clean water in remote areas of the North West of Australia.

Our major focus has been to train, develop and mentor local youth and we have developed long term associations with Indigenous organisations such as RAW GTO training organisations such as Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation

Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group has been recognised as a leader in this area through numerous awards, media articles and political speeches. Our commitment does not end at the front door Moreover, Scott Dowsett is also a Director of the Indigenous Plumbing & Sanitation Foundation The IPSF has been established to provide relief for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Indigenous communities who are living with dangerously poor sanitation, putting them at risk of disease and sickness

Scott has personally spent a lot of time in the Kimberly region and developed long term relationships with Indigenous leaders and elders and has a clear understanding of the struggles and hardships that are endured in the region and throughout Australia

15

SOCIAL PROCUREMENT

Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group is leading the way in social procurement within the construction industry. From ensuring we have a workplace that employees feel comfortable being who they are to working in remote areas where our projects have changed lives and communities through the improvement of sanitation systems. As a company and for client projects we apply the same considerations and by identifying the economic, social and environmental objectives which we can measure, report and share the learnings within the group increases our social responsibility.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

MODERN SLAVERY

CDPG is committed to eradicating all forms of modern slavery within its operations, supply chains and business relationships and acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all of our business dealings and relationships.

BUILDING EQUALITY

CDPG is committed to increasing the number of women working in construction and in the plumbing industry by setting targets within our company and incorporating actions within our strategic planning.

COMMUNITY

We understand the value of strong and enduring relationships with the communities in which we operate and we are committed to engaging with these important stakeholders.

We aim to provide appropriate and tangible social benefits, while ensuring that all community initiatives are aligned with our social priorities.

We are committed to open, two-way communication with local stakeholders and we support the development and sustainability of robust regional economies by creating jobs and, wherever practicable, commissioning the local supply of goods and services.

SUSTAINABILITY

OBJECTIVES

Climate change.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Reducing energy and water use. Reducing resource use such as single-use plastics. Increasing recycling. Promoting sustainable development and outcomes.

ENVIRONMENT

Understanding and managing the environmental impact of our business is fundamental to our long-term business success. We are committed to developing, implementing and maintaining robust environmental management systems that exceed our regulatory obligations. We have policies, procedures and standards across our environmental expectations.

RECYCLING

Within CDPG it was identified that the packaging from supplier products formed a large portion of our recycling material. Identifying this opportunity and researching a solution with our suppliers to reduce waste has had an immediate impact with the reduction of packaging by 35%. Our goal is to reduce packaging by 75% with the implementation of our new processes nation wide.

We are proud to be associated with the development of both of the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centres (PICAC) located in Narre Warren (VIC) and Beenleigh (QLD). These centres have set new standards in sustainable buildings being one of the first net zero energy education and research facilities in Australia.

All the energy required to support the operation of the buildings are generated on-site through the incorporation of a number of renewable energy technologies. These state of the art training facilities educate the next generation of plumbers.
