On April 29, tornadic activity and high winds uprooted trees, downed power lines, and damaged buildings in the Springfield area. Convoy immediately responded.
More
35,000 households
than were without power in Missouri, including 26,000 in Greene County alone. Springfield hadn’t seen a power outage of that magnitude in nearly 20 years.

On May 2, Convoy held a drivethru distribution at Central Assembly of God church, where more than 1,200 families received food, water, groceries, and other essential supplies.
Overall, Convoy distributed more than 135,000 pounds of supplies to more than 7,000 people in its response to the storms.
“We got the call yesterday, and it happened really, really fast. I’m amazed at how Convoy can do what they do in such a short time ... I can’t believe the amount of people who are here ... it’s amazing that we can meet some needs today.” —Pastor Anthony Matrone, Central Assembly
Convoy of Hope is grateful for our neighbors and honored to help when a storm hits so close to home.
