SPRINGFIELD STORM RESPONSE

APRIL 2025 TORNADOES

Governor Kehoe, Springfield City Council & Mayor Schrag

On behalf of Convoy of Hope, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your extraordinary efforts during the recent storm outbreak.

Your leadership and support enabled us to distribute emergency supplies, provide meals, and offer comfort to those facing loss and uncertainty. Because of you, survivors were not only helped — they were uplifted.

This report demonstrates how you helped make this response possible. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your partnership in bringing hope to those who need it most. We are honored to be headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, and look forward to serving this community for years to come.

Gratefully,

On April 29, tornadic activity and high winds uprooted trees, downed power lines, and damaged buildings in the Springfield area. Convoy immediately responded.

than were without power in Missouri, including 26,000 in Greene County alone. Springfield hadn’t seen a power outage of that magnitude in nearly 20 years.

On May 2, Convoy held a drivethru distribution at Central Assembly of God church, where more than 1,200 families received food, water, groceries, and other essential supplies.

Overall, Convoy distributed more than 135,000 pounds of supplies to more than 7,000 people in its response to the storms.

“We got the call yesterday, and it happened really, really fast. I’m amazed at how Convoy can do what they do in such a short time ... I can’t believe the amount of people who are here ... it’s amazing that we can meet some needs today.” —Pastor Anthony Matrone, Central Assembly

Convoy of Hope is grateful for our neighbors and honored to help when a storm hits so close to home.
