DON VIO’S STORY

“This place is good, and it’s home to good people.”

Don Vio cares deeply about his community, so when the trash truck in town suddenly stopped coming, he knew someone needed to step in and take care of that need. Still, the money he made collecting trash bags wasn’t enough to pay his bills and put food on his family’s table.

Don Vio had spent his life working in the fields, but when he met Convoy of Hope’s team, he realized he could learn so much more, increase his crop yields, and take care of his family.

WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

RENZIE’S STORY

As a little girl in the Philippines, Renzie dreamed big while playing with dolls, even when her family struggled to afford food. When her mother connected with Convoy of Hope’s Children’s Feeding program, Renzie no longer went to bed hungry — and hope took root. Years later, after facing hardship in Manila and nearly giving up on her dreams, Renzie joined Convoy’s Women’s Empowerment program and received a scholarship to learn computer coding. With encouragement and prayer from staff, she persevered, excelled in her classes, and was hired as an IT administrator. Today, Renzie works in tech, supports her family, invests in girls in her community, and is finally seeing her dreams come true.

In Mathare Valley, one of Africa’s largest slums, children face hunger, disease, and poverty made worse by recent floods. Many grow up without anyone to care for them. Yet, hope is rising inside a small school where Convoy of Hope provides daily, nutritious meals. For Principal Patrick, food is the key to keeping kids in school and shaping a brighter future. In a community plagued by addiction and despair, children are now learning, laughing, and discovering their worth. Through every meal and opportunity, Convoy is helping families break cycles of poverty and begin building futures filled with hope.

TEXAS FLOODS

Torrential rain and catastrophic flooding swept through central Texas in early July, leaving heartbreak and devastation in their wake.

Convoy of Hope had teams and resources on the ground within days, walking alongside survivors as they began the long journey toward recovery. And we’re still there.

Convoy is working in communities like Kerr County, Hunt, San Saba, Marble Falls, and many more, distributing vital relief supplies, cleaning mud and debris out of homes, and bringing a message of hope: You are not forgotten.

For these communities, the road to recovery is daunting, but Convoy of Hope is committed to helping them for the long haul.

Poverty and hunger have gained a devastating edge in urban neighborhoods and rural communities alike. Through our U.S. Program, Convoy resources, empowers, and partners with local leaders and churches through training, mentoring, and coaching. We believe that increased presence and partnership will help strengthen and enrich entire cities, towns, and neighborhoods.
