Whether you're on a quiet mountain trail, a coastal lookout, or simply in your backyard, take a moment to lift your eyes to the sky Bring your camera and share the breathtaking sunset scenes that make our province so special. It’s not just about the photo, it’s about the pause: the chance to reflect, reset, and reconnect with the world around you.

Mining requires blasting of rock. A blast radius is required for each blast to protect workers. While mining in Big Windy Lower Pit, the blast radius overlaps the Shipyard – Titanic Rock area, therefore there will be temporary closures. Temporary closures will be approximately three hours for each blast, two hours before and one hour after the blast. There will be on average 3 to 4 blasts per week.
Conuma’s primary goal is to minimize disruption for those who love to explore the natural wonders of the Shipyard – Titanic Rock area while balancing the needs of mining activities. We understand the significance of these trails to the outdoor community and are committed to keeping the public informed of any changes in accessibility By doing so, we aim to facilitate a smooth transition as we advance our activities in the Big Windy Lower Pit and ensure that everyone continues to enjoy these beautiful landscapes safely and responsibly.
We encourage you to stay connected with the "Plan to Explore" communications, which will provide updates on the Shipyard – Titanic Rock trail status and safety measures. We invite you to join us in this initiative, to stay informed and engaged every step of the way.
We will communicate temporary trail closures through: Roadside Signs on Hwy 52 East & West, and the Murry FSR, including a phone number to call for up-to-date information. Trailhead Signs at the Shipyard – Titanic Rock hiking trail entrance displaying trail access status. Community Signs - Plan to Explore signs displayed in the Visitors Centre, Geopark Centre, District of Tumbler Ridge, and local businesses. The sign will include a QR code that will direct you to an online platform with up-to-date details.
Please reach out to the Quintette Health and Safety team if you have any questions. 250-242-7121
