MINERS FOR MOVEMBER

I want to raise awareness about the struggles that men, especially in the mining industry face. I've seen the devastation that mental health struggles can cause and I don't want people to feel like they are alone or without support.

You can join Alex in raising awareness and funds towards the mental health struggles that people in the mining industry face.

Why Mental Health Matters: Building a Foundation for Well-Being

Mental health is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life, influencing how we think, feel, and act. Just like physical health, it requires attention and care to maintain balance and functionality. Yet, it's often overlooked in favour of visible, tangible health concerns.

Why Mental Health is as Important as Physical Health

Holistic Well-being: Mental health affects every aspect of our lives, from decision-making to managing stress.

The Mind-Body Connection: Stress, anxiety, and depression can manifest physically, contributing to conditions like high blood pressure, chronic pain, or weakened immunity.

Productivity and Purpose: Mental clarity and emotional stability allow us to perform better at work, school, and in daily tasks.

The Ripple Effect of Good Mental Health

Stronger Relationships: Mental well-being fosters empathy, effective communication, and the capacity to support others, creating deeper connections

Workplace Success: Employees with good mental health are more engaged, creative, and resilient.

Overall Life Satisfaction: Mental wellness enhances our ability to appreciate life's joys, face challenges, and recover from setbacks.

Investing in mental health is not just an individual responsibility —it is a societal imperative. By prioritizing mental well-being as much as physical health, we can build stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

District of Chetwynd Mayor Allen Courtoreille and CAO Steve McLain attended a tour of the re-opened Quintette Mine on November 12th.

“We were very impressed with the operation and had a wonderful tour hosted by Lisa, Taylor, and Ryan. Our guides were knowledgeable, professional, welcoming and have an obvious passion and pride in their work! We were fortunate to see mountain goats on the reclaimed portion of the mine, the conveyor belt complete with wildlife crossings, the pit, and the rail car loading and operations sites. We wish Conuma and all of the team the very best and thank you very much for sharing this enjoyable and educational experience with us ” - Mayor Courtoreille
