From March through September 2025, a rebuilt 793 haul truck at Quintette Mine, painted bright orange, is hauling with purpose. Each load is directly contributing to youth programs in West Moberly First Nations, Saulteau First Nations, the District of Chetwynd, and the District of Tumbler Ridge. This initiative is the result of a collaboration between West Moberly Industrial Metalwork Limited Partnership and Conuma Resources Ltd, combining community vision with industrial strength. Operating on a per-load sponsorship model, every haul helps fund youth-led programs focused on education, wellness, sports, and culture. Together, they’ve turned a working mine truck into a visible and impactful symbol of reconciliation and youth empowerment.
With the unwavering support of our generous sponsors, the Hope Truck initiative has reached a powerful milestone of over 6,000 loads, turning into more than $80,000 to drive indigenous and youth programming forward. “The Hope Truck is a symbol of what’s possible when industry and community come together with purpose. The fundraiser will conclude with a Final Celebration Event on Saturday, September 27, 2025, hosted at the new Saulteau First Nations Cultural Centre. The event will feature cultural performances, youth showcases, sponsor recognition, and powerful moments of connection between community, partners, and supporters. Tickets are on sale now, and sponsorship opportunities remain open for businesses and organizations that want to be part of this historic effort.

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on a dedicated member of our HR team! Jessica Simson began her journey with Conuma in February 2020 as an HR Administrator at Brule. After a short break, she rejoined the company in August 2022, stepping into the role of HR Manager at Willow Creek. Since then, Jessica has contributed her expertise across Brule and Quintette, and now provides workforce support for our care and maintenance sites. Outside of work, Jessica has a passion that runs fast and fierce—barrel racing! This is her second year as a member of the Peace Country Barrel Racing Association (PCBRA). The finals are taking place from September 5–7 at the Lakota Agri-Plex in Dawson Creek, and it’s shaping up to be a thrilling event. Riders and their horses train year-round for this chance to shine, showcasing the results of intense dedication, countless hours of training, and true grit. “The sport of barrel racing is not for the faint of heart,” says Jessica. “It’s humbling, it’s rewarding, and it takes everything you’ve got.” This year, Jessica will be competing all three days with her six-year-old horse Kenny—a homegrown powerhouse raised right on their family’s property. We’re wishing them the best of luck and cheering them on from the sidelines!
