My mother is my superheroina

When I was seven years old my dream was to have my dad by my side.

At nights I sat and looked at

the moon thinking that he was looking at it too.

In my loneliness I locked up in my room listening to music.

I was like a tortoise inside its shell.

Time passed and I kept thinking more and more about him.

I even felt butterflies in my stomach just of the thought about the first time we would meet.

After some time something beautiful happened:

I reunited with my father.

His hair was black as charcoal and he was tall as a tree.

His eyes were bright as stars, but he was a chatterbox.

I felt happy and joyful.

When I saw him, I hugged him and he said to me: I love you.

But I just stared at him and didn´t say a word.

I had a frog in my throat. I was speechless while he explained to me why he wasn’t by my side.

He said that his job didn’t allow him to be around. But I knew it wasn´t true. It was because grown up things.

He came back because he wanted to say goodbye to me.

He left… again.

I didn’t know about him afterwards.

And although I felt sad because he left, I felt safe because I knew I wasn’t alone.

I had by my side a woman, as beautiful as a rose, she was my mom, who always did everything so my days were better and happier.

I remember that a lot of times my mom cooked my favorite meal.

It was the best chicken stew. So tasty. That was her way to show me her love

day by day. And those days, which were bad for me at moments, transformed into the best ones of my life. With my mother by my side.

I could feel the love that she gave to me with each one of her details.

She liked to dance with me and we often went on trips. I realized that my mother’s love filled the emptiness that was inside me.

I could feel in each kiss, each hug the pure and sincere love of my mother that was strong and big as the sky.
