Since 1953, ABS-CBN has been a premiere source of high-quality Filipino content and primarily involved in high caliber productions for television, online and over-the-top platforms, cable, satellite, cinema, events and radio, for both domestic and international markets. We have everything from FTV-ready romance and family dramas to exciting action and thriller series, both in long form and compressed 20-hour formats. We’re also building our non-scripted IP slate, adding in the recent winner from MIPFormats Pitch 2025: physical game show Save Your Cash to join our other awardwinning game show Everybody, Sing!

Original production/ co-production

Our new action series INCOGNITO – first seen on Netflix Philippines – has been at the top since its launch. It delves into the lives of seven disillusioned people who unite to engage in high-stakes missions. We pulled out all the stops for this drama, with the powerhouse cast training in martial arts, tactical combat and war games to properly portray the relevant expertise on screen – set against breathtaking shooting locations around Italy, Japan and of course, picturesque Philippines.

SAVING GRACE, our adaptation of Nippon TV’s Mother; launched on Prime Video months before TV release, the drama explores the complexities of motherhood when a school teacher whisks away an abused student in an effort to save her. Our version emphasizes strong familial and community ties central to Filipino culture. As a result, a rich, cross-cultural viewing experience awaits our international audiences. The special 14-episode edit exclusive to the platform also topped the charts.

Our newest co-prod. with Viu, HOW TO SPOT A RED FLAG, just ended its run this February. The romcom follows a spunky barista torn between a quirky nice guy and a confident bad boy who are both catfishing her. Marking the two companies’ 2nd project together, the series touches on youth-oriented insights into topics like the “talking stage” and “ghosting”, while tackling real lessons on cheating and how genuine relationships blossom.

Supernatural horror feature film project HYSTERIA, winner of the ATF x EST N8 Horror Pitch 2024 in Singapore, tells the story of a self-righteous priest seeking to end a wave of demonic possessions in a town trapped in its own contradictory beliefs, only to uncover a dark past and his own role in the dreadful phenomenon. We are currently looking for co-producers for this latest IP.

Original production/co-production

We are thrilled about what’s ahead for 2025, with a dynamic slate of launches across Asia. Highlights include The Traitors, with local adaptations coming soon in both India and Mongolia and with further territories to be announced. Our scripted formats are also gaining traction, including a Malaysian adaptation of the romantic comedy Step Dave, originally created by New Zealand based producer, South Pacific Pictures. We’re also excited to bring Silverback’s premium natural history series Parenthood, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, to audiences across APAC on multiple platforms and networks. And finally, from the award-winning Two Brothers Pictures comes The Assassin, a gripping new action thriller packed with heart and humour. Packed with Two Brothers Pictures’ trademark heart and humour, this anticipated female led action thriller is set against the idyllic backdrop of a remote Greek island. It’s here that retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore) find themselves thrown together. Amid questions around Edward’s paternity and Julie’s dangerous past catching up with her, the pair are forced to flee the island and go on the run. Episodes/length: 6x1 hr

The Traitors

A global format phenomenon, over 35 adaptations of The Traitors have now been commissioned. These include a local version set to air in Mongolia and Prime Video’s anticipated Indian adaptation. The Traitors is an intense psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game.

Parenthood

From the genre leading team at Silverback Films, Parenthood is a definitive natural history series about life’s greatest challenge-raising children. Narrated by David Attenborough, the series features never before seen animal behaviours and delivers a universal message about the importance of preserving the natural world. • Movie: AR spearheads the Rocket Programme, a strategic movie co-development initiative uniting film companies from Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. Supported by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and organised in partnership with MyStory Entertainment, the programme aims to drive six co-produced film projects from script stage through to market-ready pitches at TCCF 2025.

• Variety: AR and Taiwan’s TAICCA launched the LEAP Co-Development Programme: Variety Show, attracting 85 submissions and featuring eight top Korean producers. It concluded with a final pitch at ATF 2024 in Singapore. A regional co-production is set for 2025, with AR executive producing alongside Culinary Class War writer Mo Eun-seol.

• Pre-school animation: AR launched the All Star Pre-School Animated Series Creative and Co-Development Programme with Taiwan’s PTS XS to connect Korean and Taiwanese creators for co-productions. Two projects were selected and have entered development with leading Korean animation companies.

Micro Drama: Co-Production & Regional Distribution

Over 150 micro dramas have launched across various platforms in the region to date, with several dedicated micro drama apps set to roll out on major telco shelves across Southeast Asia.

First, generative AI and hyper-personalisation will be leveraged on more by platforms to tailor experiences, enabling more dynamic and responsive storytelling. This will not only enhance viewer satisfaction but also open new avenues for data-driven monetisation. Sports remains one of the genres that consistently delivers real-time audience attention but will be the focus of fewer platforms given the costs as well as expertise to deliver that best-in-class experience. Third, we foresee a surge in on-ground experiences that are both un-piratable and monetisable – meet-and-greet events with K-stars, concerts, and fan activations and extensions of big hits eg Netfliux’s K-pop Demon Hunters Sing Along in cinemas. We started the year on a great note, with MasterChef The Professionals Thailand doing well on Channel 7 and Netflix in Thailand. MasterChef has also been commissioned for two new Asian territories in 2025, which will be announced soon.

Pinoy Big Brother Season 12 is continuing the leadership trend for us in the Philippines and has become a successful collaboration with GMA and our long-term partners ABS-CBN.

We have recently concluded Puzzle Masters Season 8 in China and Season 9 will go into production next year.

Our finished content also has local flavour added with shows including Jeremy Pang’s Hong Kong Kitchen and Leave No Trace that both focusing and showcasing Asian territories.

Half Man will be the iconic scripted show to watch out for in 2025. It is a six-episode drama series from the multi award-winning Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer, Against the Law), who stars alongside BAFTA award-winning actor Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocket Man) with the pair playing estranged brothers. The series is produced by Mam Tor Productions (a Banijay UK company) for the BBC and BBC Scotland in co-production with HBO.

Our factual slate is led by Tribe with Bruce Parry, in which TV, filmmaker and indigenous rights advocate Bruce Parry returns to TV after more than a decade. In this new three part series, he travels to visit extraordinary communities, diving deep into their traditional ways of life – including a rare glimpse of the world’s last megalithic culture, The Sumba in Indonesia. The series is produced by Frank Films for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

In our format slate, AI Love You – created and produced by Banijay Nordic label Nordisk Film TV, Denmark for TV 2, seamlessly integrates the much talked about AI tech in a deeply emotional human scenario via a life affirming social experiment.

Trends & Outlook 2025

In 2025, we will witness media businesses looking at hybrid models to explore additional revenue streams. Shorter holdback windows for second screen rights will become the norm with key TV shows coming onto a third-party digital platform within hours of premier broadcasting. There is no doubt that there will be an increase in adopting AI across productions which will form an integral part of new format innovations.

The series is set to air in Japan in April 2026 with Boat Rocker distributing the series globally.

Trends & Outlook 2026

Mega-media consolidation seems unlikely to end any time soon. We will likely see consolidation extend to the production industry with M&A occurring at indie studios. We’ll see more format remakes and co-production between diverse territories, as many producers have become risk averse and are looking to share the cost and rights with partners, and draw on the success of proven formats. While the use of AI in content production has become more common than ever, the industry might start discussing protocols for its usage to avoid ambiguity and protect creatives.

SPE collaborates with creators, producers, and talents globally to develop and produce local formats and original productions for local audiences. Shark Tank continues to do exceptionally well in India, Thailand, and Vietnam, and continues to expand its footprint with new local versions in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Notably in 2025, we will debut a brand-new anime title called Nyaight of the Living Cat, which will capture the hearts of both anime fans and cat lovers. Following the success of the Korean movie Hijack 1971, we will distribute another Korean movie The Interview, releasing in South Korea later this year. Channel/service

CTE offers all forms of ondemand rights across all linear channels. Vidio hits SE Asia high Domestic streamer runs #2 to Netflix engagement across the region

Indonesian streamer Vidio’s engagement was second only to Netflix in Southeast Asia for Q4 2025, Emtek, SCM & Vidio MD/ CEO Sutanto Hartono said in Jakarta on Friday night, kicking off a weekend extravaganza showcasing the platform’s 2026 originals. Netflix has started talking about seven Philippines originals on its 2026 slate, pretty much bringing the market out of shadows cast by the better-loved markets of Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia and Thailand, and bringing ABS-CBN/ Dreamscape into its production fold with romantic drama Someone, Someday Executive produced by ABS-CBN stalwarts Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes and Laurenti Dyogi, Someone, Someday is directed by Chad Vidanes and Dolly Dulu. The series is about the CEO of a dating app who unknowingly befriends someone out for revenge. No release date has been confirmed.

This afternoon’s Philippines’ slate announcement lists five series and two feature films, kicking off on 9 April with director Dolly Dulu’s 18th Rose – the story of a spirited teen dreaming of the perfect debut who makes a deal with a lonely newcomer. Netflix’s second film – the Jodi Sta. Maria starrer, Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon,

directed by Cholo H. Laurel – releases 13 August. The film is about a TV writer who ignites chaos when she returns home to her estranged mother. Series kick off on 17 April with the nic Zapata-directed The Master Cutter, about a former scout ranger–turned–tai lor and secret man-hunter who takes a street-smart girl and her guardian, is then hired to hunt the girl down.

India’s streaming environment remains radically competitive and closely watched, continuing to expand premium storytelling and elevated production quality. The country’s linguistic diversity and price-sensitive audience base have produced a layered streaming landscape: premium global platforms compete in Hindi and high-value regional originals, while domestic services focus on language-specific programming and cost-efficient storytelling.

The market is led by domestic streamer JioStar, and global platforms Prime Video and Netflix, alongside a dense ecosystem of targeted local platforms serving linguistic, regional and genre niches. Some – like Sony LIV – are available to paying audiences outside of India. South Indian platform Zee5 also serves a global audience, offering more than 10 languages spoken in South Asia, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

JioStar had the most titles on Ormax Media’s top 50 in the first half of 2025 with 16. Netflix was second with 14, followed by Prime Video with 9, Amazon MX Player with 8, Sony LIV with 2 and Zee5 with 1. While overall production volumes have moderated from peak commissioning years, India continues to generate large-scale film

Top streaming titles in 2025/6 include season one of The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which was the top Indian series on Netflix’s global rankings for the second half of 2025. The series placed #125 of more than 7,700 titles. Spy thriller Dhurandhar, which released theatrically in December 2025, was Netflix’s #1 non-English film in the world for two weeks this year.

Netflix’s 2026 India slate underscores the country’s continued strategic importance. The platform has announced 30 titles – 19 series and 11 films – placing India second only to Korea (33 titles) on its global activity chart for the year. The total is ahead of Japan, which counts 26 titles if live baseball and the global production of One Piece are included, and 24 without them. The volume signals sustained commitment, even as the company calibrates budgets and output in the region.

Among Netflix’s headline India projects is Operation Safed Sagar – The Untold Story of the Kargil War, directed by Oni Sen. The series explores the Indian Air Force’s role in the 1999 conflict with Pakistan. Another 2026 tentpole title is Family Business, created by Hansal Mehta and Niren Bhatt, with Mehta also directing. The series follows a billionaire preparing a successor to lead India’s largest conglomerate, tapping into themes of power, succession and corporate ambition.

Genre diversity remains central to the

strategy. Netflix’s 2026 line-up spans romance, police procedurals, legal drama, gangster stories, reality formats, true stories, comedy and sports thrillers. This breadth reflects both audience fragmentation and the need to maintain engagement across demographic segments.

Prime Video remains equally active in India; its India originals are the platform’s biggest content category outside of U.S. programming. While details of its upcoming slate are evolving (full announcement expected in March), the company continues to balance originals with licensing and regional-language acquisitions. Prime Video’s India tentpoles for 2026 include Don’t be Shy, a coming-of-age romcom from Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film was written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji and produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt. Dharmatic Entertainment’s Call Me Bae returns for a second season this year.

India continues to embrace both scripted and unscripted formats from the U.S. and Europe for both free- and subscription audiences. According to ContentAsia’s Formats Outlook research, India was the top formats acquisitions market in the first half of 2025 with 16 titles, representing 21% of all activity. Recent adaptations include two seasons of The Traitors from All3Media International for Prime Video; French reality competition The Fifty (Les Cinquante) by Banijay Asia for JioHotstar and free-TV network Colors; multiple seasons of Shark Tank; and at least 10 seasons of MasterChef India.

Doordarshan

Established in September 1959, Doordarshan (DD) is India’s government-funded national broadcaster, transmitting to 92% of the population and remains a cornerstone of India’s domestic content ecosystem. While commercial relevance may have diminished relative to private broadcasters and streamers, DD continues to play a strategic role in showcasing regional, social-impact and nationally significant content that may not find space in purely market-driven platforms. Through its free-to-air footprint and genre-diverse channels, DD remains a key outlet for mass-reach Hindi and regional programming, particularly outside India’s top urban markets. DD also operates direct-tohome (DTH) satellite service DD Free Dish (launched 2004), offering TV and radio channels to more than 40 million households nationwide. DD is overseen by Prasar Bharati, India’s autonomous public broadcasting corporation, which also manages All India Radio (AIR).

Airtel Digital TV

Telecommunications provider Bharti Airtel launched DTH satellite platform, Airtel Digital TV, in October 2008. The service now offers approximately 705 channels/ services, including about 99 HD channels, 36 SVOD services, four international channels and one 4K channel, alongside access to over 20 OTT apps. As of 2025, the platform served around 15.9 million subscribers.

DishTV

DishTV operates India-focused direct-tohome satellite services under the DishTV brand architecture. Its DTH offerings include DishTV Smart+, the group’s main satellite television platform, and DishTV Zing, a regional-focused DTH service targeting budget and regional language

audiences. Together, the platforms offer approx 700 television channels and services, including 70+ HD channels and audio channels, supported by a nationwide distribution network spanning thousands of distributors and dealers across India.

DD Free Dish

State-owned broadcaster Doordarshan (DD), through public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati, launched its free-to-air Direct-To-Home (DTH) television service DD Free Dish (originally DD Direct Plus) in December 2004 with just 33 channels. DD Free Dish remains India’s only Free-to-Air DTH platform with no monthly subscription fee, requiring only a onetime investment in a set-top-box and dish antenna. The platform hosts around 167 TV channels, 48 radio channels and transmits to about 49 million homes.

Jio DTH / JioFiber TV

Reliance Jio operates JioFiber TV, a bundled pay-TV service delivered via a combination of satellite and IP networks and offered exclusively with its JioFiber broadband plans since 2020. Positioned as a hybrid TV platform, it integrates linear television channels with OTT applications including Netflix, Prime Video, SonyLIV and Zee5 through a single Jio set-top box, targeting primarily urban and semi-urban households.

Sun Direct TV

Established in December 2007 as an 80:20 joint venture between India’s Maran Group and Malaysia’s Astro Group, Sun Direct TV offers hundreds of channels across multiple languages, spanning entertainment, movies, news, sports and regional programming, delivered in both SD and HD formats through a range of flexible subscription plans

Launched in August 2006, Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) offers 690+ TV channels/services and integrates multiple third-party OTT services via Tata Play Binge. Tata Play also operates the Tata Play app, offering live TV channels and on-demand content across mobile and connected devices.

Airtel Xstream

Airtel Xstream (launched September 2019) integrates live TV and OTT content for Airtel DTH/IPTV subscribers, offering 350+ live TV channels and 10,000+ VOD titles, and accessible via the Xstream app on mobile, web and Android TV.

Amazon MX Player

Amazon MX Player is Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service in India that emerged after the company acquired key assets of the Indian video streaming platform MX Player and merged it with its ad-supported miniTV service. The combined platform delivers a large catalogue of free Indian originals, films, series and dubbed international content. The platform now also offers premium subscription plan (MX Gold) for an ad-lite experience.

Den TV+

Cable TV provider Den Networks launched Den TV+, a mobile OTT extension of Den TV, in February 2017. Den TV+ offers 130+ live TV channels, 2,500 movies and 10,000+ hours of VOD content in Hindi, English and other local languages. Select content is free for Den TV/broadband subscribers.

Discovery+

Discovery launched its direct-to-consumer streaming app Discovery+ in March 2020, offering science, adventure, food and lifestyle programming. The multi-language app costs Rs199/US$2.20 a month for premium ad-free access. Select content is available for free.

DishTV Watcho

Watcho is DishTV India Ltd’s OTT, offering on-demand content, live TV streaming

and access to third-party OTT services through a single application. Positioned as a digital companion to the group’s DTH services, Watcho aggregates original and regional programming across mobile, web and connected TV.

Eros Now

Established in 2012, global streaming service Eros Now, owned by Eros International Plc, offers 12,000+ Hindi, Tamil and regional language films to over 39.9 million paid subscribers from over 150 countries. Popular Eros Now local originals include Metro Park, Aisa Waisa Pyaar and Hindmata

Goldmines Play

An advertising-supported on-demand (AVOD) streaming service operated by producer/distributor/aggregator Goldmines Telefilms. Offered as an add-on subscription through Prime Video’s entertainment marketplace from February 2025 for Rs39/US$0.40 a month. Content focus is Hindi-dubbed South Indian blockbusters including Rangasthalam, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Bigil, Vinaya Vidheya Rama, alongside classic Bollywood titles.

Hoichoi

Launched in 2017 by SVF Entertainment, global streamer Hoicho offers Bengali content, including original web series/films and acquired movies on demand. Annual basic subscription cost Rs999/US$11.00. Select content is offered for free.

Hungama Play

Hungama Digital Entertainment Media launched Hungama Play in July 2015, offering over 5,000 films in English and Indian languages; more than 1,500 short movies; 7,500+ hours of kids content; and over 150,000 short videos. Hungama Play also offers original series such as Hindi web series Vinny Ki Kitaab and new TV series Prayagraj Ki Love Story, that began airing in January 2026.

Originally Hotstar (2015), rebranded as Disney+ Hotstar in 2020 and now integrated with entertainment giant Jio. The streamer offers more than 100,000

hours of TV shows and movies in 10 local languages , as well as coverage of major global sporting events. Subscriptions are: Premium at Rs299/US$3.30 a month (up to 4 devices); and Super at Rs149/ US$1.60 a month (up to 2 devices).

JioTV / JioTV+

Reliance Jio Infocomm launched live TV streaming platform JioTV in September 2016 exclusively for Jio mobile subscribers. Users can watch live TV channels and on-demand programming on mobile, tablet and connected devices, providing access to 800+ live TV channels in multiple languages, and single-login access to select OTT apps as part of bundled JioFiber and Jio AirFiber plans.

Lionsgate Play

Lionsgate Play launched in December 2020, offering Hollywood films and original content for Rs149/US$1.60 a month or Rs699/US$7.70 a year. Distribution partners include Vodafone Idea (Vi), Airtel, Jio, Apple TV+ and Prime Video. The service is also available directly on Google Play and Apple’s App Store, and on devices like Amazon Firestick. In January 2025, Lionsgate sold the operation to platform president, Rohit Jain.

ManoramaMax

Launched in 2019, ManoramaMax is a global OTT service offering Malayalam originals, movies, TV shows and news. Subscription in India costs Rs1,199/ US$13.00 per year. Select content is offered for free.

Netflix

Netflix in India costs between Rs149/ US$1.60 for the mobile plan and Rs649/ US$7.00 for four HD/UHD screens. Available direct and through partnerships with telecom and broadband players like Vi, Airtel and ACT Fibernet.

Prime Video India

Amazon added video services to its India platform in December 2016. Prime Video offers content in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Bengali, with

a strong slate of local originals, including Uppu Kappurambu and The Mehta Boys. Prime Video is available in India for Rs299/US$3.30 per month.

SonyLIV

Launched in January 2013, ad-supported platform SonyLIV offers 40,000+ hours of programming from Sony Entertainment Network-branded channels. The service also offers Bollywood/Hollywood movies, original series, live sports and live TV channels. SonyLIV offers a mix of free and paid content, with Premium subscription plans including a monthly plan (Rs299/US$3.30) and an annual plan (Rs999/US$11.00), as well as a mobile-only annual plan (Rs599/US$6.60).

Sun NXT

Launched in June 2017, streaming service Sun NXT is owned and operated by Sun TV Network Limited. Sun NXT offers over 50,000 hours of live TV content, movies, originals, kids’ content, and music in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Basic plan starts from Rs579/ US$6.60 a year.

Tata Play Binge

Tata Play Binge is an OTT aggregation platform from Tata Play that brings together content from 30+ OTT apps under a single subscription, accessible on mobile, web and connected TV devices. Plans range from flexi options to the Infinity plan (Rs399/US$4.40 a month), which provides access to a wide slate of partner OTT services such as Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, Fancode and more – across up to four devices simultaneously.

TVFPlay

The Viral Fever (TVF) launched TVFPlay in June 2015 to target the youth/teenage demography. TVFPlay offers original and acquired content.

Vi Movies and TV

Vodafone Idea’s OTT service, Vi Movies and TV, offers 470+ live channels and 8,500+ on demand movies in 13+ languages to all Vodafone Idea subscribers. The service also offers third-party OTT services such as Zee5 and Hungama Play.

India

YuppTV

YuppTV offers live TV channels, movies and on-demand shows across multiple Indian and South Asian languages, with catch-up TV and multi-screen support on connected devices. YuppTV operates on a freemium model, offering a limited selection of free content alongside a premium, paid subscription service.

Zee5

Zee’s global OTT freemium platform Zee5 (launched across 190+ countries in Oct 2018), consolidating Zee’s digital content library, including originals, Indian and international movies, TV shows and live TV channels. The platform hosts over 135,000+ hours of video across multiple languages, and features originals, films, TV series and live channels across genres. ZEE5 has increasingly emphasised regional language subscription packs (e.g., Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam), and broader all-languages premium plans (Rs299/ US$3.30 a month for full access) in India.

Multi-system Cable Operators

Asianet Digital

Asianet Satellite Communications (est. 1993) provides digital cable TV and broadband internet in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Cable subsidiary, Asianet Digital is one of the top MSOs by subscriber base, though numbers have declined in recent years amid industry shifts. According to TRAI data, Asianet Digital Network continues to appear among MSOs with more than one million active subscribers.

Den Networks

Established in July 2007, Den Networks provides digital cable TV and broadband services across more than 200 cities in 13 states. The company serves over 13 million cable households, offering a wide range of SD and HD TV channels on its digital platform. Den Networks is majority-owned by Reliance Industries (RIL), with a strong presence in key markets including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Fastway Transmissions

Founded in 2008 in association with Digicable Network India, Fastway Transmissions is a MSO focused on accelerating digital cable migration and valueadded services. The platform delivers 400+ SD/HD TV channels across 200+ cities and towns, primarily in North India.

GTPL

GTPL Hathway started operating in 2006 in Gujarat and now provides digital cable TV and broadband services that reaches 1,500+ towns across 26 states. GTPL offers 940+ channels, including 95+ HD channels. The company offers high-speed wireline broadband services with about 1.04 million broadband subscribers as of March 2025. GTPL also provides OTT access through its Genie+ service.

Hathway Digital

Hathway Cable & Datacom, established in 1995, is a digital cable TV and broadband service provider. The platform has 4.9 million viewers across 700 towns and cities, offering a broad mix of TV channels. Hathway also operates high-speed cable broadband and a fiber network reaching approximately 6.3 million homes.

KAL Cables

KAL Cables is a Chennai-based MSO distributing digital cable television services across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring regions. Its pricing is based on standard Network Capacity Fees (typically around Rs130/US$1.40 per for basic reception).

Kerala Vision

Kozhikode Cable Communicators Ltd (KCCL), operating as Kerala Vision, is cooperative-founded and established in 2008 by a consortium of local cable TV operators. The MSO delivers digitised SD/HD TV channels statewide through a large fibre/coax network and supports local cable operators with infrastructure and service.

NXTDIGITAL

NDL Ventures Limited (NXTDIGITAL), the media arm of the Hinduja Group, delivers digital TV and broadband services across India. The company distributes 650+ TV channels via its digital cable and Headend-in-the-Sky (HITS) platform in 100+ cities, supported by a nationwide franchise network. NXTDIGITAL also offers high-speed broadband and its NXTPLAY app for aggregated OTT content.

SCV (Sumangali Cable Vision)

SCV is a major MSO operator in Tamil Nadu with over two decades of presence in India’s cable TV market. The platform delivers 300+ SD channels and 90+ HD channels, offering advanced set-top boxes with features such as HDMI output, USB recording, pause/play live TV and multi-language support.

Siti Networks

Essel Group’s MSO Siti Networks (formerly Siti Cable Network/Wire and Wireless India), operates multiple digital headends and a hybrid fibre-coaxial network. Entry-level packs are priced from Rs137/ US$1.50 for basic channel bundles.

Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV

The state-owned platform was incorporated in 2007 (as Arasu Cable TV) to provide affordable digital cable TV services across Tamil Nadu and to protect the welfare of small operators in India. It operates a wide range of SD/HD channels with a subscriber base exceeding one million.

Thamizhaga Cable TV

Communication Ltd

Thamizhaga Cable TV Communication Ltd serves Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, providing digital cable TV with 300+ SD/HD channels over an extensive fibre network.

VK Digital

Chennai-based VK Digital serves urban and suburban areas in Tamil Nadu, with a focus on the city and surrounding districts. The platform provides a total of 400+ channels as part of its core lineup, including regional, national, and international programming.

Applause Entertainment

Aditya Birla Group-backed Applause Entertainment is a content and IP creation studio with a focus on premium scripted series/films for TV and streaming. Production credits include Black Warrant (Netflix), Zindaginama (Sony LIV) and Mrs. Deshpande(JioHotstar), as well as adaptations and original series.

Balaji Telefilms

Balaji Telefilms is a veteran Indian television and film production house incorporated in 1994, with a legacy of iconic series such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Naagin for platforms across India. The studio also operates Balaji Motion Pictures for films.

Banijay Asia

Banijay Asia, a JV between Banijay Group and Deepak Dhar, creates scripted and non-scripted content for TV and OTT. Credits span reality, factual and drama genres including Rise and Fall, Million Dollar Listing India, The Trial, Reality Ranis of the Jungle, and, alongside local adaptations of global formats such as MasterChef India.

Bhansali Productions

Leading film production house founded by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 1996, known for visually rich, music-driven cinema and compelling storytelling. The studio’s celebrated filmography includes Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi, as well as the Netflix series Heeramandi.

Bodhi Tree Multimedia

Bodhi Tree has produced more than thousands of hours of TV/OTT content in multiple languages (Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali) including drama, thriller and lifestyle. Production credits include Gunaah and Class for Netflix India.

Contiloe Pictures

Founded in 1995, Contiloe has produced over 100 television shows for networks like Star TV, Sony TV, Zee TV

and Discovery. Genres cover historical, mythological and scripted drama series. Production credits include Chakravati Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Tenali Rama and Swaraj

Cosmos-Maya

Cosmos-Maya is an animation studio specialising in 2D and 3D animated content for television and digital platforms. The studio has produced tens of thousands of minutes of animation, spanning children’s series and franchise properties distributed across India and international markets in Asia. Flagship titles include Motu Patlu, Selfie with Bajrangi and Eena Meena Deeka

Dharma Productions

Dharma Productions was founded in 1976, producing its first film Dostana starring Amitabh Bachchan. Led by Karan Johar, the company has since produced more than 60 feature films, including Sarzameen, Dhadak 2 and Homebound. Under its Dharma 2.0 strategy, the company has expanded into digital-first content and allied businesses, including OTT originals via Dharmatic Entertainment and talent representation through Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA), spanning theatrical, streaming and creator-led ventures.

Eros International Media

Eros International Media co-produces, acquires and distributes Indian-language films globally, with a large catalogue spanning Hindi and regional cinema through international rights partnerships.

Excel Entertainment is co-founded in 1999 by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, known for pioneering contemporary Hindi cinema with films such as Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Fukrey

Green Gold Animation

Founded in 2001, Green Gold Animation is a Hyderabad-based studio specialising in children’s 2D/3D animated content for TV and digital platforms. It is best known for franchise hits such as Chhota Bheem, Mighty Raju, Super

Bheem and Arjun: Prince of Bali, and also operates in licensing, merchandising and kids-focused digital distribution.

Ideas Entertainment

Established in 1996, Ideas Entertainment produces TV shows, scripted series, web originals and films.

Maddock Films

Founded in 2005 by Dinesh Vijan and Pooja Vijan, Maddock Films is a Mumbai-based studio noted for successful Hindi films such as Bala, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Chhaava and the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe franchise which consists of Stree 2 and Thamma.

Mango People Media

Mango People Media Networks is a Mumbai-based content company cofounded by producer Pranjal Khandhdiya alongside Neha Anand and Victor Mukherjee. The company produces documentary, factual and scripted content for TV and OTT platforms, with production credits including Sweet Dreams on HotStar, Kacchey Limbu and Dhak Dhak.

Red Chillies Entertainment

Red Chillies Entertainment is Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production company, creating films and series with wide theatrical and digital distribution. Recent titles are a blend of mainstream cinema and OTT projects including The Ba***ds of Bollywood for Netflix, Bhakshak, Jawan and Dunki.

Roox Media

Roox Media focuses on original digital content, licensing and music. The studio works on web-first and OTT projects, including Tamil original, action crime thriller Maaya Thotta, about the assassination of a minister under mysterious circumstances.

Sol Production

Sol Production produces non-scripted television and entertainment content for broadcasters and digital platforms, with a focus on reality, lifestyle and event formats.

Sun Pictures is the film production and distribution arm of the Sun TV Network, based in Chennai. Since its first production Enthiran in 2010, the company has backed major Tamil blockbusters including Jailer, Raayan and Coolie for theatrical release and wider distribution.

Regulators

Broadcast Content Complaints Council (BCCC)

Self-regulatory body for non-news TV channels in India. BCCC addresses viewer complaints and enforces standards relating to decency, taste and social responsibility across entertainment, general entertainment and lifestyle channels.

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)

Statutory body under the MIB responsible for certifying films for public exhibition in India. Its classifications and content guidelines directly affect theatrical releases and satellite TV broadcasts.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT)

The Department of Telecommunication is responsible for setting growth strategies, granting telecoms service licences and for spectrum management.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB)

The Ministry formulates and administers rules/regulations/laws relating to information, broadcasting, the press and films, and is responsible for administering Prasar Bharati, which oversees broadcaster Doordarshan (DD).

News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA) (news only)

Industry self-regulatory body representing private TV news broadcasters. It sets and enforces editorial and ethical guidelines for news channels and oversees content-related complaints.

Prasar Bharati

Autonomous body established in 1997, its objectives include safeguarding citizens’ rights to be informed on all matters of public interest; creating awareness about women’s issues; and protecting the interests of children and the aged.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai)

Established in 1997, TRAI is India’s independent regulator for telecom and broadcasting. It sets tariffs, issues regulations and recommendations, and oversees quality of service for TV distribution platforms, including cable TV, DTH and IPTV.
