Vibrational Aesthetics

A woman owned small business located in Medford

THE FOCUS OF VIBRATIONAL AESTHETICS is creating a safe container for people to heal through vibrational sound; drawing inspiration from ancient practices and modern scientific research, sound therapy utilized various sound frequencies to induce profound states of relaxation and balance. We view sound as a catalyst for wellness, by harnessing the innate connection between sound and our physiological responses we create an environment conducive to healing and rejuvenation.

Michelle Kurz, owner, and operator of Vibrational Aesthetics utilized a variety of instruments during her sessions, with her focus on hand hammered Tibetan sound bowls from Nepal. Michelle has undergone extensive mentorship and education for over five years learning how to apply sound and frequencies to best benefit the human body. In 2021 Michelle attended an extensive hands-on college in Boulder, Co where she learned many modalities that have been passed through her teacher Suren Shrestha for well over a thousand years. Portions of the proceeds from the singing bowls used and sold through Vibrational Aesthetics go directly to children's education funds in Nepal.

Among the other tools in her repertoire, Michelle utilizes unique tuning forks by Earth Tuned — a small business creating very specialized gigantic tuning forks. Established in 2017 by PNW artist Joshua Reff, Earth Tuned is known for making some of the largest tuning forks in the world publicly available for individuals and practitioners of the healing arts. Through a fusion of modern aerospace manufacturing techniques and ancient Pythagorean mathematical philosophies, Earth Tuned offers a variety of instruments tuned to harmonics resonating to geometric constants found throughout the natural world. Their instruments have gained immense traction on the internet, reaching millions virally and finding their way into the hands of various celebrities and public figures.

Sound healing offers remarkable benefits, including deep relaxation, reduced stress, enhanced creativity, improved mental clarity, profound tranquility, self-discovery, restful sleep, overcoming insomnia, reducing anxiety, and overall well-being restoration. The carefully crafted soundscapes and soothing vibrations contribute to these healing effects.

Michelle is also a licensed esthetician in the state of Oregon and has a unique way of combining sound and esthetics. Using Bio elements products, and Esthemax hydrojelly face masks to provide a service best suited to each clients’ skincare needs and goals. Specializing in facial

massage, facial cupping, and lymphatic drainage to help with cellular rejuvenation.

There are many benefits to sound therapy. Vibrational Aesthetics we strive to set an atmosphere where you can dive into the ultimate relaxation. We offer one-on-one sessions, group sessions, and more. We specialize in creating the ultimate relaxation experience while incorporating facials, breathwork, and other holistic modalities. gp

Relentless Heros

THE GOAL OF RELENTLESS HEROES is to assist local Veteran’s when other programs or benefits have been unable to meet their needs in a timely manner. We provide holiday meals for our local vet center and financial assistance to individual Veteran’s during their time of need. Relentless Heroes has been able to make this possible through generous donations from sponsors as well as personal donations from the community.

Supporting U.S. veterans through donations is of paramount importance for several reasons. These men and women have selflessly served their country, risking their lives to protect our freedoms and uphold our values. Unfortunately, many veterans face numerous challenges when transitioning back to civilian life, and donations play a crucial role in addressing these issues. Here are some key reasons why Relentless Hero’s supports veterans through donations are essential.

Veterans often experience physical and mental health issues resulting from their service, such as combat injuries, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and traumatic brain injuries. Donations can help fund medical treatments, counseling services, and rehabilitation programs that promote their overall well-being.

Many veterans struggle with homelessness or housing instability due to factors like financial difficulties, unemployment, or insufficient support systems. Donations can provide them with safe and affordable housing options, along with essential resources like food, clothing, and other basic necessities.

Transitioning from military to civilian life can be challenging, especially when it comes to finding suitable employment or pursuing higher education. Donations can support vocational training programs, job placement services, and scholarships, enabling veterans to acquire new skills, enhance their qualifications, and secure stable careers.

Some veterans may face financial hardships due to disabilities, limited income, or unexpected emergencies. Donations can help provide financial assistance, grants, and scholarships to alleviate their financial burdens and ensure they have access to essential resources.

Supporting veterans also means extending assistance to their families. Donations can help fund programs that offer counseling, childcare, educational support, and other services aimed at assisting military families during deployment, separation, or times of need.

Veterans often benefit from community-based programs that facilitate their integration into society. Donations can

support initiatives that promote social interaction, peer support, and community engagement, fostering a sense of belonging and reducing feelings of isolation.

Donations to veteran-focused organizations can help advocate for policies and legislation that protect the rights and well-being of veterans. This includes efforts to improve healthcare services, streamline the transition process, and enhance the overall support system for veterans and their families.

By supporting veterans through donations, we express gratitude for their sacrifices, honor their service, and actively contribute to their well-being. It is an opportunity to give back to those who have given so much to protect our nation, ensuring they receive the assistance and care they deserve as they navigate their post-military lives.

One of the highlights of Apricity Vineyards is their outdoor patio area. It's the perfect spot to savor a glass of wine while taking in the stunning surroundings. The panoramic views of the vineyard and the valley create a serene ambiance, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind.

In addition to the exceptional wines, Apricity Vineyards also hosts events and offers wine club memberships. BELLE FIORE WINERY

Overall, Apricity Vineyards is a must-visit destination for wine lovers exploring the Grants Pass area. The combination of stunning views, superb wines, and passionate staff creates an unforgettable experience. Whether you're seeking a tranquil escape or a chance to expand your wine knowledge, Apricity Vineyards will leave you with lasting memories and a desire to return again and again.

You can take a few directions, but the next zig zag stop was Belle Fiore Winery. They have some extraordinary wines, classic food pairings, live music, winemaker paired dinners, high end events and strolls amid the scenic gardens and vineyards. Set on 31-acre vineyard they cultivate extraordinary wine varietals producing classic vintages which encapsulate our French, Italian, and Spanish heritage. Offering culinary food pairings and open Wednesday through Sunday 12pm - 6pm, Saturday & Sunday 12pm-7pm. No reservations required!

The scenic route that winds through the Applegate Valley, showcasing the stunning views of the Siskiyou Mountains. The trail is home to over 20 wineries, each with its unique flavor and style. My next stop was the Troon Vineyard, a biodynamic winery that produces some of the best wines in the region. The vineyard is known for its unique approach to winemaking, where they use the lunar calendar to determine the best time to harvest the grapes.

As I walked through the vineyard, the aroma of the ripening grapes filled the air, and I couldn't help but feel excited to taste the wine. The tasting room was cozy and inviting, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I tried their Zinfandel, which had a bold and spicy flavor with a hint of blackberry. Next, I sampled their Vermentino, a refreshing white wine with a crisp finish. The Troon Vineyard was a great start to my Applegate wine tour.

The next stop was Kriselle Cellars; unless you have a reservation apparently which is required by them for wine tasting … don’t waste your gas. As I entered the vastly empty tasting room I was rudely asked if I had

reservations. That was the start of an experience that continued to go downhill. The wine tastings were less than desirable, and that’s all there is to say about that.

My next stop was the Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden, a biodynamic winery that uses holistic farming practices to grow their grapes. The vineyard is situated on a hilltop, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. As I walked through the gardens, I was amazed by the variety of fruits and vegetables growing alongside the vines. The tasting room was cozy and rustic, with a warm fireplace and comfortable seating. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing the story of the vineyard and the wines they produced like the award-winning wines, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Viognier, Chardonnay and various white and red blends. We also produce our own estategrown, organic pear cider and pear cranberry cider blend. We feature flights for tasting, light fare to pair with wines and talented wine educators to inform and entertain while you visit.

I sampled their Syrah, which had a smooth and silky texture with notes of black cherry and chocolate. The Grenache Blanc was another standout, with a crisp and refreshing taste with hints of citrus and tropical fruit. The Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden was a unique and memorable stop on my Applegate wine tour.

Before heading to the next one detoured off a bit and headed back to Schmidt Family Vineyards. Schmidt is a vineyard, winery and tasting room that offers wine flights, barrel tastings, tours, a full food menu, and beautiful grounds. Located at 330 Kubli Road they are open year-round every Tuesday through Saturday 12-5 with extended hours every Friday from 5-8 for live music. They are a three-generation wine making family that has been working hard since 2001 to make clean, full-bodied wines from the 20 varietals on their estate vineyard. Schmidt specializes in making small lots of boutique wines and has crafted a relaxed environment to enjoy a beautiful afternoon. Their dining is centered around our woodfired pizza oven and can be enjoyed inside

our Timber-frame tasting room or on our patio, lawns, or flower gardens. We are a destination where you can come with your family, do a barrel tasting, take a tour through the winery, then get a flight to taste on the lawn while enjoying a pizza and listening to live music.

I then embarked out to EdenVale Winery their beautiful tasting room with formal gardens and the 1890's Voorhies Mansion is well worth the stop. It was nice just to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with some new friends on the patio. You can also tour the beautiful historic property without the need of a reservation. The views are memorable– take in Oregon pear orchards, vineyards, and the Siskiyou Mountain range. Edenvale is family friendly everyone is welcome.

The final stop on my wine tour was the Red Lily Vineyards, situated on the banks of the Applegate River. The vineyard is known for its award-winning Tempranillo, a bold and complex red wine with notes of blackberry and spice. The tasting room was spacious and elegant, with a large fireplace and

comfortable seating. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing the history of the vineyard and the winemaking process.

I sampled their Rosé, which had a light and fruity taste with a crisp finish. The Tempranillo was the star of the show, with a full-bodied flavor and a smooth finish. I also tried their Syrah, which had a bold and spicy taste with notes of black pepper and cherry. The Red Lily Vineyards was a perfect end to my Applegate wine tour.

In conclusion, there were many more vineyards that we could have done but like for us time allowing the Applegate wine tour is a must-visit for any wine lover. The stunning views, unique wineries, and flavorful wines make for an unforgettable experience. From the biodynamic practices of Troon Vineyard to the holistic farming at Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden and the award-winning Tempranillo at Red Lily Vineyards, the Applegate wine trail has something for everyone. So, grab your friends, and head out for a fun-filled wine tour in Southern Oregon.

In the beginning …

Jose Flores was born and raised in the city of Guadalajara into a family with little means with nine siblings and began working from the age of five. At a very young age his father started up his own Taco Stand, and young Jose would help; “from a young age I learned to do it all. I would wake up before school started, come home, chop op the veggies, go to school, go straight home, and help my father set it everything up to sell Tacos in the afternoons and night.” Thanks to the skills

21 GRANTSPASSMAG.COM | gp MAGAZINE |

learned working, chopping veggies and knowing his way around the kitchen he received a call one day that changed his life. He was asked to go to WA to help the kitchen crew at a Mexican restaurant.

Jose met his wife, Aracely as well in Washington. Aracely also came from a very humble background, and she too has been working from a very young age . She was born and raised in Mazatlán, Mexico. From a young age her mother taught her amazing skills in the kitchen; she would have to help her cook for her siblings when her mother would have to go to work. “If you personally know my wife, you know she is a master in the kitchen. Aracely is the most creative, hard-working women I know. Thankfully her life sent her to Washington as well.”

The Flore’s family came to Grants Pass in 1992 with intentions of finding an opportunity for themselves, their family, and for others. With great intentions and filled with hope they embarked on their journey.

“We wanted to share our love for food with the community. That same year we began to work on our first Mexican Restaurant, Rio Bravo, previously located in front of Riverside Park. On May 16, 1992, my wife said, " we have to open tomorrow because we don't have any more money to pay for another day at the hotel.” Sure, enough we opened our business on May 17, 1992, it was a rainy day and we only had $23 to our name.”

Here we are almost 31 years later …

“We have an immense amount of gratitude for this community; we were able to grow roots here, have and raise our family here, and our business. Our businesses have grown, and we have had the pleasure to provide opportunity for many others. We believe that your vision must include helping others and providing opportunity or else it’s just not worth doing it. Along the years we have had fun sharing our love for food, family, and our culture one plate at a time. We pride in quality and good service.

Our Motto is ‘Familia Feliz,’ because no matter your background we all strive for a ‘Familia Feliz’ which translates into HAPPY FAMILY! … and we believe we are all capable of that.” gp
