Born in Trench Town, Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Clarke’s early life was marked by a profound sense of purpose that would ultimately guide his path. His first aspiration was to become a pilot, fueled by a fascination with airplanes that ignited when he was just six years old. However, fate had other plans for this young dreamer.

At the age of ten, Dr. Clarke experienced a life-changing moment when he broke his hand and was taken to the Children’s Hospital in Kingston. There, he encountered a physician whose gentle care and dedication left an indelible mark. This encounter shifted his ambitions from becoming a pilot to aspiring to be a doctor – a decision that would shape his future profoundly.

Dr. Clarke’s journey took him from the sunny shores of Jamaica to the United States, where he embarked on a quest to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician. His educational journey led him to Seton Hall University, where he majored in Mathematics and received a scholarship. The path from mathematics to medicine may seem unconventional, but for Dr. Clarke, it was a testament to his determination and unwavering commitment to his chosen path.

But Dr. Clarke’s aspirations extended beyond the walls of his practice. He became a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at New Jersey Medical School, imparting his knowledge to medical students, interns, and nurse practitioners who rotated through his office. His passion for serving those in need led him to co-found the Help Jamaica Medical Mission, which has provided free healthcare to over 40,000 patients across more than 50 communities.

Dr. Clarke’s commitment to humanitarian work is a testament to his belief in the principle of giving back. He has personally flown Jamaicans to the United States for life-saving surgeries and treatments, underscoring his unwavering dedication to the welfare of others.

Upon graduating from Seton Hall University, Dr. Clarke was immediately accepted into medical school, further solidifying his resolve. His journey was marked by both achievements and challenges, as a few weeks before graduating from medical school, he tragically lost his mother to cancer. Yet, he persevered and earned his medical degree.

Dr. Clarke’s dedication to the field of medicine led him to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey in 2003. He then went on to open his own medical practice in 2004, where he specialized in Opiate Addiction Medicine. His practice remains a testament to his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of his patients.

Beyond his medical practice and humanitarian efforts, Dr. Clarke has held prominent positions in various healthcare institutions. He has served as the Medical Director of East Orange Medical Practice, Medical Director for Complete Care at Orange Park, Medical Director for Silver Lake Hospital in Newark, NJ, and Chief Medical Advisor for the Northeast Diaspora.

His outstanding service and contributions to the community have earned him numerous awards and accolades, including the congressional award for outstanding and invaluable service to the community. Dr. Clarke’s impact extends beyond healthcare; he has also held leadership positions in prominent organizations like NAJASO, the largest Diaspora Organization in the USA.
