Security Paving Tackles California Interchange

Tulare sits on State Route 99, roughly halfway between Bakersfield and Fresno. Located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, Tulare has been an important transportation center for crops, goods and vacationers headed for nearby Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

A city of nearly 70,000, Tulare sits in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is working with Security Paving of Westlake Village to fix an important interchange in

Tulare. The work on the International Agri-Center/Commercial Avenue Interchange is expected to ease congestion and improve safety along SR 99.

The construction team also plans to complete the $80 million job in the fall of 2026.

The project also will alleviate traffic issues on the nearby Paige Avenue interchange.

AASHTO reported in April that state departments of transportation have charted their plans for construction this year. State agencies will be targeting worn pavement, aging bridges, highway safety and expanded transit. In March, ARTBA released numbers on the value of transportation projects expected to break ground this spring. At $10.1 billion, that’s down some from the $11.7 billion value a year ago and first quarter award activity was down as well.

How Hands-On Experiences in Reno Led to Jobsite Success in California

Designed with interchangeable rotating shaft kits that can be replaced directly on the job site, the MB-HDS214 allows operators to process a variety of materials and adapt to changing project needs, according to MB Crusher.

When buying equipment, most contractors don’t rely on online research alone, they want to see it, test it and understand how it performs in real-world conditions. Much like buying a car, the ability to experience a machine firsthand can make all the difference.

That was the case for Robert, a contractor based in Capo Beach, Calif.

After connecting with MB Crusher’s Reno, Nev., team, Robert scheduled a live demonstration of the MB-HDS214 padding bucket, part of MB Crusher’s screening attachment line. Designed with interchangeable rotating shaft kits that can be replaced directly on the job site, the MB-HDS214 allows operators to process a variety of materials and adapt to changing project needs, according to MB Crusher.

What started as interest quickly turned into confidence.

“I probably wouldn’t have bought this screener if it weren’t for the back-and-forth and the ability to plan and demo it. The whole process was really great,” said Robert.

While digital tools and online purchasing continue to grow, the demand for hands-on experience remains strong. In fact, studies show that approximately 57 percent of consumers still prefer to see, touch and test products before making a purchase, especially when it comes to heavy equipment investments, according to MB Crusher.

This is where MB Crusher’s approach stands out.

Through its Reno branch and dealer network, MB Crusher offers customers across Nevada and California the opportunity to request live demonstrations, either at a local branch or directly on site. This ensures contractors can evaluate performance, compatibility and results before making a final decision.

For Robert, the impact went beyond the purchase.

“We’ve been recycling, and we’ve saved a ton of money by not having to go to the landfill. Because of the screener, we’re able to divert material and avoid those fees. Now we’re pocketing that money, and it’s paying for itself.”

By experiencing the equipment firsthand, Robert was able

to identify the right solution for his specific needs. leading to efficiency, saving cost and long-term value.

This customer success story highlights the importance of hands-on demonstrations and regional support in helping contractors make confident, informed decisions.

SX-EW Technology Powers Taseko Mines Project

Taseko Mines’ Florence Copper project featuring Metso’s copper solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) technology is ramping up its commercial operations in Arizona.

The successful harvesting of the first copper cathodes at the end of February 2026 is an important milestone for Taseko Mines and Metso, marking the first new greenfield copper production in the United States since 2008.

The project caters to the rapidly growing copper demand while supporting the transition toward more environmentally responsible copper production in North America.

“This represents a landmark achievement for the Florence Copper team and a major milestone for Taseko, as we continue our journey to become a leading North American copper producer,” said Stuart McDonald, president and CEO of Taseko Mines.

Metso’s delivery to the Florence Copper project consists of a modular VSFX solvent extraction plant and main process equipment for the electrowinning plant. Florence

Copper has a nameplate capacity of 85 million lbs. of LME Grade A copper cathode per year.

“We are excited to congratulate Taseko Mines and the Florence Copper team on this important milestone. It’s an honor to support their success with proven Metso Plus technology designed to maximize resource efficiency and reduce environmental footprint. This aligns perfectly with our mutual dedication to sustainability and operational excellence,” said Mikko Rantaharju, vice president, hydrometallurgy and thermal processing of Metso. “Moreover, this delivery is the first of its kind to the United States and holds tremendous value for Metso as we expand our offering and installed base in the region.”

Vario Impact Sizer Enhances Precision Material Sizing

Compliance with the required material size is a decisive factor for ensuring efficient processes in opencast mining operations.

With the Vario Impact Sizer (VIS), Wirtgen offers a system that scores top marks in terms of flexibility, precision and adaptability, according to Wirtgen.

It enables machine operators to reliably control the maximum particle size and particle size distribution, even under constantly changing operating conditions. Extensive evaluation of the system in practice has confirmed its effectiveness, particularly in coal and bauxite mining operations.

Selectable Settings

The core of the VIS is a split baffle plate mounted directly on the cutting drum housing. This plate is equipped with two primary adjustment mechanisms that enable precise control of the material that passes through the system, according to Wirtgen. The variable gap between the plate and the cutting drum is the first adjustment mechanism: this distance can be adjusted in five stages to control the amount of additional crushing and thus change the particle size.

A smaller gap results in extra crushing and thus finer material, while a larger gap results in coarser material. The adjustment is made by simply enlarging or reducing the gap and securing the plate with pins, which takes around 10 minutes.

The second adjustment mechanism relates to the holes in the scraper. Depending on the specific requirements of the operation, they can be opened or closed in four different settings by means of covers.

These two mechanisms complement the basic adjustment options of the Surface Miner like the advance speed of the machine, the speed of the cutting drum, and the cutting depth. In combination with the VIS, this results in an extremely high level of control over the maximum particle size.

Vario Impact Sizer

Machines in cut-to-ground or windrow applications often produce material that exceeds the required maximum particle size. This is where the VIS comes in — the system is designed to fulfill precisely this requirement by influencing and limiting the maximum particle size. Finer material passes through the sizer and leaves the crushing process while coarser material is crushed until it can also pass the sizer.

The VIS has proven itself in both coal and bauxite mining applications and effectively controls the size of the material produced to ensure that it meets the specified requirements, according to Wirtgen.

One of the advantages of the VIS is its seamless integration into the machine. The VIS is mounted directly on the cutting drum housing and integrates seamlessly into the material processing process. Furthermore, the system is highly adaptable.

The variable settings enable reliable crushing of a wide range of rocks and minerals. The VIS is particularly suitable for brittle and porous rocks and minerals such as coal, bauxite or chalk, according to Wirtgen.

The construction of the VIS ensures that it can withstand the harsh conditions in mining and meets all requirements for durability and stability, even at high throughput rates.

Use in Opencast Mining

The VIS is available for the 220 SM(i) 3.8. Particle size control is achieved through the interaction of standard machine settings and the VIS settings. The standard machine settings include the machine’s advance speed from 0 to 275 ft. per min. The cutting drum speed also is adjustable with six standard settings on board.

The cutting depth is adjustable from of 0 to 13.8 in. The settings of the VIS consist of the five baffle plate gap settings from 0.86 in. to fully open and the four cover plate opening settings, which can be adjusted from fully closed to fully open.

This wide range of combinations offers almost unlimited possibilities for influencing the maximum particle size and the particle size distribution, according to Wirtgen.

Practical Examples From Coal, Bauxite Mining Applications

In the meantime, the performance of the VIS has been evaluated in various mining regions. In coal mining in India, the system showed improvements in the control of coal particle size. Specific settings were used to achieve a target size of less than 3.9 in. In bauxite mining, the VIS delivered impressive results in the Boffa and Boké regions of Guinea. During mining in Boffa, the sizer was opened fully to enable a cutting depth of 11.8 in. and a high advance speed,

enabling maximum performance for the achievement of high productivity. In Boké, the settings were adjusted to a material size of less than 3.9 in., demonstrating the system’s ability to adapt to different types of bauxite and different crushing behaviors. Clearly noticeable in practice: the settings have to be carefully adapted to the requirements since additional crushing reduces the throughput rate.

Assists Operators

The VIS provides machine operators with a tool that gives them precise control over the maximum particle size, according to Wirtgen. The system settings have a direct impact on key performance parameters: particle size distribution, production output, fuel consumption, tool wear and stress on parts and components.

By specifically adjusting the configuration, the operator can always achieve an optimal balance between material requirements, process stability and overall cost-efficiency. The VIS thus confirms its role as an effective tool for efficient material size control in contemporary opencast mining scenarios.

Safe Digging Tips for Summer Construction, Utility Work

Summer is a critical time for those in construction and utility work. This busy season depends on crews’ productivity as they work around storms and high temperatures.

But the season’s unpredictable weather isn’t the only thing impacting safety and productivity. The possibility of striking a buried utility means potentially hurting crew members, delaying the project, damaging critical infrastructure and cutting off critical access to that utility as it undergoes repairs.

That’s why the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) identified vacuum excavation as a best practice. Since vacuum excavation is a best practice for safe digging, the TRUVAC team shared a few more safe digging tips for summer construction and utility work and also included a couple tips from GTI:

1. Make a plan. To ensure safe digging practices, plan for differing hypothetical situations including water content and debris.

Being prepared to adapt to various ground conditions not only keeps utility work and digging safe, but it shortens the amount of time needed to pivot.

2. Call 811. Safety is important, and by calling 811, you can understand the location of underground utilities, reduce the risk of dangerous situations and prevent costly repairs and fines. Calling the number (or submitting a request online) is completely free, and utility companies will arrive to mark the site of underground lines.

3. Follow safety protocols. With there being less need for manual labor, worker safety is promoted. However, making sure operators use proper PPE is still necessary regardless of site conditions and temperature. All utility work and digs need to follow proper safety protocols to keep digging safe.

4. Conduct proper maintenance. Over time and through the seasons, debris accumulates on hydrovac tanks and is hard to remove, with dry, sandy soil creat-

ing the most build-up. To prevent extreme build-up in the summer months, store vehicles in dry environments and prioritize routine maintenance of vehicles.

5 Use the right equipment. DigRight is a patented technology of TRUVAC that increases safety, helps adhere to industry recognized best practices and allows crews to focus on the job — all at the push of a button. DigRight technology — coupled with multiflow water pump features — allows you to select a maximum water pressure limit to prevent the pressure from exceeding site or industry requirements.

DigRight is available on the TRUVAC Paradigm, FLXX and HXX models. DigRight helps decrease wear and tear on check, unloader and relief valves by avoiding bypassing water and saves fuel and money by eliminating wasted energy.

6. Beware of pressure and temperature. GTI noted in the “Vacuum Excavation Best Practice & Guideline” that if heat-

ed water is used during excavation, the temperature and pressure of the water shouldn’t exceed 115 degrees fahrenheit and 2,500 psi respectively. In addition, the pressurized air or water wands shall never remain motionless during excavation. Aiming directly at the underground facilities shall be avoided at all times.

7. Keep the right distance. GTI also recommended keeping a distance of at least eight inches between the end of the nozzle and the underground facility or subsoil. The nozzle shouldn’t ever be inserted into the subsoil while excavating within the “tolerance zone.”

As summer digging projects start to increase, calling 811 and prioritizing safe excavation practices helps protect crews and infrastructure. With precision tools like DigRight technology from TRUVAC that help support industry best practices, contractors are able to dig safely and more efficiently. Project Reduces Congestion, Enhances Safety On SR 99

Caltrans District 6 representative Christian Lukens told Construction Equipment Guide the work will “improve traffic flow, enhance freight and local traffic and support economic growth.” He added, “The project will also add modern safety features, including sidewalks, bike lanes and upgraded traffic management systems.”

Improving Connectivity

“The new interchange will make it much easier for drivers and trucks to access SR 99, reducing congestion on nearby surface streets and improve traffic flow throughout the area,” Lukens said. “It also enhances east-west connectivity, which is vital for daily commuters and for truckers moving freight and agricultural goods, a key component of Tulare County’s economy.”

The construction team gained insight on the work plan after interacting with the public, as strong feedback favored preserving the Paige Avenue Interchange.

During work on the new interchange at Commercial Avenue, the team kept Paige Avenue ramps open. The approach was strongly advocated for by the city of Tulare and other government entities.

The contracting team factored in some local events when planning construction. Tulare hosted the World Ag Expo in an area adjacent to the project. This event delayed the project by two months while getting a Federal Aviation Administration permit delayed the project an additional two months.

The project also took some steps regarding the environment.

“The work will lower greenhouse gas by reducing congestion and vehicle idling on the busy SR 99 corridor,” Lukens said. “The project also supports greener travel options by adding 2.6 miles of new bike lanes and 1.4 miles of sidewalks, making it easier for people to walk and to bike.”

Security Paving has used 80,000 tons of asphalt and 19,000 cu. yds. of concrete on the project. The construction team has used 60,000 lbs. of steel and moved 195,000 lbs. of dirt. The team used post-tensioned tendons to control deflec-

tions in the concrete while maintaining its strength in the bridge.

“Before we started, this was empty farmland; we had to drill pilings about 45 feet deep to support the bridge,” TJ Mattivi, central division area manager for Security Paving, told Construction Equipment Guide. “We built a cast-inplace bridge. Since it was a new bridge, we did not have to manage traffic, so the work was accomplished quickly.”

ARTBA Reports Infrastructure Spending Down in 2026

INFRASTRUCTURE from page 1

“The monthly value of awards can be volatile in the first quarter as state and local governments in general put out less work,” according to ARTBA’s analysis.

“Totals can also vary depending on the mix of projects,” the association reported in adding that 25 states increased the value of project awards this March.

States with the highest value of awards last month included: California, Illinois, South Carolina, Texas and New York.

ARTBA noted that states with major monthly percentage gains included: District of Columbia, Delaware, Tennessee, Vermont and Maine.

Top markets last year were California at $15.7 billion, Texas at $15.5 billion, New York, $10.4 billion, Florida, $9 billion and Maryland, $8 billion.

How, Where States Apportioning Project Funds

Iowa DOT announced in April it was supporting nearly $980 million in improvements this fiscal year.

Across the state, crews will focus their efforts on projects that impact motorists and truckers for both local and statewide movement, the agency said.

“Iowa’s interstate and primary highways … are an essential part of our personal mobility and our state’s economy,” the agency said. “As we invest in these projects, we want to help Iowans safely navigate construction and work zones.”

Frank Leong, district construction engineer, Iowa DOT, said the busy 2026 construction season could see more than 100 different projects during key construction months.

In 2025, the district completed some 80 projects in the season that stretched through every month of the year, said the District 1 construction engineer.

That included everything from covering drainage work to repairing pavement and pavement markings all the way to the electrical systems.

“And we also do about five bridge replacements a year in central Iowa with anywhere from 12 to 14 rehabilitation projects,” he added.

That involves anything from resurfacing to patching, “or just getting the crack sealed so that we don't have moisture problems on the bridges,” said Leong.

Iowa DOT said the Iowa Transportation Improvement Program five-year plan forecasts an investment of $4.3 billion in state and federal funding. The monies will go to highway right of way and bridge construction throughout the state, according to the agency.

Michigan’s Gov. Gretchen Whittmer said

“I’m sorry and you’re welcome” in warning drivers they’d see more orange cones this summer.

State leaders agreed on a funding deal that would boost spending on roads and bridges by at least $1 billion starting this year, reports mlive.com. That funding could be even higher in the years to come as revenue comes in from taxes on gas, marijuana and corporate profits, the news outlet said.

“Drivers, when you hit the road this spring and summer, we ask that you slow down and pay attention, there’s Michiganders at work here,” Whitmer said. “Construction season is officially open and we’re going to continue to fix the damn roads in Michigan.”

According to the governor’s office, Michigan DOT will repair approximately 2,000 lane mi. of state-owned road and nearly 100 bridges this season.

That brings totals to approximately 26,500 lane mi. and almost 2,000 bridges fixed over eight years. Those totals don’t include local roads.

Among the most significant MDOT projects on schedule this year are repairs on I696 in Oakland County, I-96 and I-94 in Wayne County, reported mlive.com.

U.S. 127 in Ingham and Clinton counties, U.S. 31 in Grand Traverse County, M-46 in Muskegon County and I-69 in Genesee County also made the list.

Minnesota Public Radio revealed that more than 200 projects are planned statewide this year to improve and maintain transportation infrastructure.

In a May press conference, state safety officials highlighted big projects and warned drivers to be careful in construction zones.

Hoping this will be the last year of construction on Interstates 394 and 94 in Minneapolis, MPR.org said lanes will close in each direction

In addition to lane closures, some ramps and bridges also will be shut down, causing backups through November, said the news agency.

The John Ireland Boulevard Bridge over I-94 will be rebuilt. The hoped-for completion is before the October Twin Cities Marathon in October.

MPR.org said the Minnesota State Patrol reported people driving into wet cement or nearly hitting construction workers and asked drivers to take care.

“Sometimes the delays and detours can test our patience,” said Lt. Mike Lee. “But remember this: Impatient and risky driving behaviors are not tolerated.”

ÂTaking Care of the SystemÊ Is Goal for State DOTs

AASHTO noted that the Utah DOT will start work on 176 new construction projects

this year with a total worth of $2.8 billion. Those projects are all in addition to the ongoing work on 57 current projects within the state.

New contracts include the $225 million SR-177 West Davis Highway extension project in Davis County.

A $43.2 million effort is planned to extend the S-Line streetcar line in Salt Lake City. And at $621 million, the 2100 North Highway construction effort in Utah County will launch this construction season.

“Every project we start is about taking care of the system Utahns rely on every day,” said Lisa Wilson, Utah DOT deputy director.

The work is focused on making travel safer, more reliable and more accessible, she said.

“At the end of the day, our goal is simple: help people get where they’re going safely.”

The Wisconsin DOT has plans to work on more than 400 highway improvement projects during the 2026 construction season.

Adobe Stock photo

At the end of the day, the goal is to get people moving and to their destinations safely and securely, say state officials.

AASHTO said the list includes finishing up the I-41 rebuild in Milwaukee County and reconstruction of WIS 21 between Omro and Oshkosh. Reconstruction of the I39/90/94 bridges over the Wisconsin River in Columbia County also is planned.

As teams ready for another construction season the safety of work crews, industry partners and the public are priority, said Kristina Boardman of the state DOT.

A “record-breaking” $3.4 billion construction season launches this spring in Ohio. It includes a total of 977 new projects, according to AASHTO.

For the 2026 season, 739 bridges and approximately 4,562 mi. of roadway are set for improvements, with 174 safety projects also set to begin.

“As a state that makes and moves things, we must have a safe transportation system that is well maintained,” said Gov. Mike DeWine.

It’s “a testament to [our] focus on building a more resilient transportation system and saving lives,” added Pam Boratyn, Ohio DOT’s director.

“This investment positions Ohio as the

heart of the nation’s supply chain and continues to fuel the state’s economic engine.”

The Arizona DOT will continue or start work on a variety of highway improvement projects.

Jobs that have been in winter shutdown, including the $15.8 million I-17 wildlife crossing south of Flagstaff, are resuming, reported AASHTO.

Arizona DOT noted that crews finished most of the I-17 wildlife crossing bridge located 12 mi. south of Flagstaff. Work this spring will include installation of eight miles of new wildlife fencing along the highway, an effort that should wrap up by fall.

The state agency said it also plans to begin work on a $19.4 million State Route 64 Improvement Project north of I-40 in Williams. That contract will resurface 19 mi. of SR 64 between the I-40 interchange and Pipeline Road, add several new left turn lanes and improve turnouts.

During a National Work Zone Awareness event in April, Missouri DOT Director Ed Hassinger predicted 1,000 work zones would be active this summer.

“I’d say four years ago, it might’ve been half of that,” Hassinger told television station KSHB.com.

The director said funding from a gas tax Missouri increased incrementally from 2021 to 2025 is helping pay for the projects.

According to KSHB, the department also is catching up on work delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, the agency is in the midst of a years-long project to expand 200 mi. of I-70 from two to three lanes.

Some projects will be on pause in Kansas City, Mo., during World Cup matches to ease congestion. The DOT will resume projects once matches end.

Greg Bolon, district engineer of MoDOT, said the agency typically has between 100 to 110 projects going on in the Kansas City area.

“We will have about 14 of those projects that we’ll have limited construction basis on,” Bolon said, to “make sure we have all the lanes open we possibly can.”

Next door in Kansas, KDOT also is working to prevent traffic issues with construction around scheduled matches this summer, reported KCTV5.com.

Mike Rinehart, KDOT district engineer, said closures will not be scheduled on major highway routes during the World Cup, from early June to mid-July.

Currently, the K-5 and the 18th Street bridges in Wyandotte County, Kan., are closed and will remain so until necessary work is completed.

In Johnson County, work on the I35/Gardner Road bridge will continue and the bridge is open to traffic until a new structure opens in late 2027, said KCTV5.  CEG

Crews Drill Bridge Pilings 45 Ft. Deep Across Formerly Empty Farmland

The work on the International Agri-Center/Commercial Avenue Interchange is expected to ease congestion and improve safety along SR-99.

TULARE from page 28

The new bridge will be 132 ft. across and 250 ft. long. Workers will construct two 12-ft.-wide lanes in each direction, median island shoulders and bike lanes on either side. Colored textured concrete will add a distinctive visual element to the work.

Workers have relied on standard equipment for the project, including articulated trucks, bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, front-end loaders, skid steers, rollers and paving machines.

The construction team used smart-traffic technology to improve traffic flow on SR 99 near the project. This included real-time traffic monitoring and ramp metering systems.

The construction team crafted a detailed safety plan for the work to protect both motorists and workers. The plan included lining up a detour of SR 99 onto local streets while the workers were installing and removing falseworks.

Mattivi believes that motorists will notice the difference when the project is complete, especially during the International Agri Center Expo, which often attracts 100,000 people.

“In the past, traffic would be backed up for miles during the Expo,” he said. “This project and the newly configured interchange will make these transitions smooth and keep traffic moving along SR 99.”  CEG

Stellar Levels Up Popular Product Lines With 2026 Launches

For model year 2026, the TMAX lineup features a new high-intensity LED taillight system designed to improve visibility and awareness on the job site.

Stellar introduced a redesigned EC3200 electric service crane. The EC3200 now features a nested boom design.

Stellar Industries is advancing two of its core product lines with updates to the TMAX mechanic truck and EC3200 electric service crane.

First introduced to the market at ConExpo-Con/AGG and Work Truck Week, these enhancements reflect Stellar’s continued commitment to refining its products to better meet the needs of today’s operators.

2026 TMAX Mechanic Truck

Stellar TMAX mechanic trucks are built for durability and efficiency in demanding field conditions, according to Stellar. For model year 2026, the TMAX lineup features a new high-intensity LED taillight system designed to improve visibility and awareness on the job site. The taillights also feature a cascading turn signal for more visibility in demanding environments.

In addition to the new taillights, Stellar continues to expand the TMAX platform’s flexible storage capabilities. Building on the introduction of the adjustable shelving, the 2026 models offer additional options for tool storage and control panel mounting.

This adaptable design allows operators to configure their truck to meet the specific demands of their work without compromising the structural integrity of the body. By eliminating the need to drill in compartments, the TMAX design helps prevent corrosion, leaks and long-term wear while protecting valuable tools and equipment, according to Stellar.

EC3200 Electric Service Crane

Stellar also introduced a redesigned EC3200 electric service crane. The EC3200 now features a nested boom design. This update provides a lower overall profile for the crane, allowing operators to access tighter workspaces with greater ease.

The new boom design also reduces the crane’s overall weight by approximately 130 lbs., improving payload capacity while maintaining the lifting performance and reach operators expect. The result is a more balanced crane design suited for space and weight sensitive applications, according to Stellar.

Available for integration with Stellar TMAX mechanic trucks, the EC3200 electric service crane offers a cost-effective alternative to larger hydraulic cranes while still delivering the performance needed to handle a wide range of service tasks in the field, according to Stellar.

Turning Feedback Into Features

“These recent product updates are a direct result of customer feedback and real-world application,” said Tim Worman, director of product management and inside sales. “By refining key features like visibility and payload, we’re helping our customers work more efficiently without adding unnecessary complexity to their equipment.”

With these latest enhancements, Stellar continues to evolve its product lineup to support the changing demands of service professionals across industries. Customers can place orders for both the 2026 TMAX mechanic truck and the EC3200 electric service crane now.

This time-honored tradition involves auctioning a custom Felling FT-12 Pan drop deck trailer online, with 100 percent of the winning bid donated to the selected nonprofit organization.

In the past 14 years, the Trailer for a Cause auction has raised more than $57,000 for nonprofits such as the American Brain Tumor Association, Special Olympics, Pockets of Hope and Backing the Blue. The goal is to raise awareness for organizations making a difference and support their work.

The 2026 Trailer for a Cause auction beneficiary, Henry’s Heroes, was selected by the Felling Trailers’ employees in the form of a vote. Team members cast their votes for the organization of their choice in early spring this year. When the last of the votes were tallied, Henry’s Heroes held the popular vote.

“This is incredible news, and thank you so much! On behalf of all of us at Henry’s Heroes, we are truly honored to have been selected as the 2026 Trailer for a Cause beneficiary,” said the Henry’s Heroes Team.

“We are excited to partner with you on this project and can’t wait to see the FT-12 Pan utility trailer come to life, representing Henry’s Heroes,” said the Heroes Team.

“When our team cast their votes, and Henry’s Heroes rose to the top, I wasn’t surprised,” said Brenda Jennissen, president of Felling Trailers Inc. “As a mother, I was moved. Some of them know firsthand how a NICU journey can turn a family’s world upside down and how unexpected contributions make an impact. The work that the Henry’s Heroes team does to ensure no family in our region has to walk that path alone is exactly the kind of cause our Trailer for a Cause tra dition was built to sup port. We are proud to put Felling Trailers’ craftsmanship behind an organization doing such meaningful work for families right here in our own backyard.”

Henry’s Heroes is a Central Minnesota-based non profit organization dedicated to supporting families navigating the

emotional and financial challenges of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit journey.

The Henry’s Heroes team provides various forms of assistance to the NICU families they serve, including direct financial donations to help offset the real-world costs of a NICU stay, thoughtfully curated care packages to bring comfort and encouragement during long hospital stays and community outreach to connect families with resources and a network of people who understand the road they are trav-

eling.

Felling Trailers is proud to support an organization that gives so holistically and generously to families in Central Minnesota.

A mid-fall 2026 auction is being planned for the Trailer for a Cause. Leading up to the auction, Felling Trailers will collaborate with Henry’s Heroes to raise awareness about the work they do and the families and community members they serve throughout central Minnesota and beyond.

Purple Wave Auction Announces Enterprise Accounts Team

Purple Wave Auction announced the launch of its Enterprise Accounts team. This team drives strategic growth and enterprise-level engagement across key sectors including agriculture, construction, finance, government, rental and fleet, according to the company.

Focused on serving large accounts, dealers and OEMs, the team enhances outreach initiatives, delivers tailored service solutions and collaborates closely with local sales teams to strengthen both internal alignment and long-term customer partnerships.

The Enterprise Accounts Team consists of five enterprise sales managers, including Andrew Dillard, Erik Holzhauer, Jeff McGough, John Littler and Rebecca Jablonski, who are overseen by Managing Director Don Nash and Executive Sales Director John Beasley.

Andrew Dillard

Dillard primarily focuses on

relationships with construction dealers and rental companies, bringing more than two decades of experience to the team in asset management, fleet operations and equipment disposition throughout the Midwest.

“I focus on creating real value for dealerships and OEMs, supporting their efforts to strengthen brand presence in the market, while partnering with them on inventory management solutions,” he said.

Erik Holzhauer

Holzhauer is the expert for fleet operators and their equipment partners regarding all things fleet at Purple Wave, with 20 years of experience in supply

chain logistics.

“I am passionate about collaborating with customers to gain a deep understanding of their operations and business models,” he said.

“I’m always seeking opportunities to help them work efficiently.”

Jeff McGough

McGough brings more than 25 years of heavy equipment expertise to the team, with hands-on education in diesel technology and mechanics that enables him to understand how machines operate and the factors that drive their long-term value.

“I use my technical background and industry knowledge to help customers through an easy and transparent online auc-

tion experience,” he said. “I am committed to delivering honest guidance, accurate valuations and dependable follow-through.”

John Littler

For nearly 15 years, Littler has supported online auctions in the government sector, advocating for the benefits of cooperative contracting. He helped Purple Wave secure its first national award with OMNIA Partners.

“I am a supporter of sustainable initiatives and promote reuse, reallocation and recycling as critical elements of a surplus program,” he said. “I attend fleet and procurement trade shows to speak to the value of transparency and best practices in the auction process.”

Rebecca Jablonski

With 35 years of experience in the Midwest finance industry, Jablonski brings extensive knowledge of equipment financing, having held roles at Bank of the West and GE Capital. She remarkets bank-owned equipment for maximum profitability.

“Throughout my career, I have maintained one guiding principle: customer service comes first,” she said. “My dedication to my clients, paired with decades of experience in finance and remarketing, sets me apart as a trusted partner in the industry.”

Purple Wave Auction performs online, no-reserve equipment auctions serving the agriculture, construction, government and fleet industries, providing customers with opportunities to buy and sell equipment with confidence, according to the company.

Jeff Martin Auctioneers will conduct an unreserved strategic fleet realignment auction for Reliable Crane Services, offering approximately 160 lots of cranes, trucks, trailers and related equipment from the company’s Anaheim, Calif., location at 1210 N. Tustin Ave. on June 16, 2026, at 9 a.m.

“We’re excited to bring such a wide range of equipment to auction for buyers across the crane, construction, transportation and heavy equipment industries,” Jeff Martin said.

By bringing a significant lineup of equipment to market, the auction creates a strong opportunity for contractors, fleet managers, crane operators, trucking companies and equipment buyers seeking high-quality assets through a competitive auction environment.

This auction also will include a 2003 LinkBelt HTC 8640, a sister crane to the model prominently featured in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Featured assets include a 2016 Liebherr LR 1300 crawler crane, a 2019 Grove GMK 6150L all- terrain crane and a 2023 Peterbilt 389 tractor truck.
