Werk-Brau has created and shipped its first 6yard bucket for production class excavators.
Designed from the ground up by Werk-Brau engineers, these new buckets feature T1 and AR400 steel in critical wear areas for maximum strength and durability, with weight saving features incorporated where appropriate.
With 20 percent more capacity than a standard 5-yard bucket, which is common for this class, the new heavy-duty high-capacity bucket can load a 30-yard haul truck in just 5 passes, according to the manufacturer.
Eliminating one pass per load can significantly reduce the load-out time and total fuel usage for large-scale development projects like sightprep for commercial construction or a residential housing subdivision. It is ideal for use with the John Deere 470P, PC490LC-11, Cat 349 and other 50-metric ton excavators.
An aggressive dig angle allows the bucket to more easily tear through virgin ground and materials to scoop faster and more efficiently. In addition, tapered side plates are engineered to reduce wear and allow for smoother dumping.
The bucket can be equipped with a wide selection of industry standard ground engaging tools for extra durability. Werk-Brau stocks a vast selection of teeth to choose from.
The tip radius on the heavy-duty high-capacity bucket is to or within O.E.M. specifications so it can be used with any standard excavator.
Werk-Brau engineers worked on the initial design with John Deere dealer West Side Tractor, and its end customer who made the initial request for a larger bucket. Using latest generation CAD, 3D modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FAE), the design team was able to reduce weight yet maintain structural integrity for a long service life. “Efficiency and productivity are the differentiating factors on mass excavation and large site development projects, and this new bucket certainly provides that,” said National Sales Manager Dale DeWeese. “Moving 20 percent more dirt with each bucketload is helping customers finish jobs faster.” Werk-Brau manufactures a complete line of OEM and replacement attachments for excavators, mini excavators, backhoes, mini and fullsize loaders, and crawler loaders. Tigercat Grows Its Line of Grapples to Integrate With Loggers, Loaders
Tigercat is steadily growing its line of grapple attachments in an effort to provide end-to-end Tigercat branded solutions that integrate seamlessly with Tigercat loggers, loaders and shovel loggers.
The new butt-n-top and shovel clam grapples are built with durable boxed style jaws fabricated from high strength steel. Replaceable tine tips are made from abrasion resistant steel.
High quality, heavy duty components are used throughout. Cushioned cylinders, and a soft-start and stop slew hydraulic circuit prevent structural shock loads and promote extended grapple life while providing ample speed and torque for excellent performance.
Hydraulic hoses are routed on top of the boom and under the connecting pin to best protect the hoses from damage. The BT08 and SC08 grapples are simple to maintain with easy access to daily service points and critical components. A sealed electrical box protects electrical components from the elements.
Butt-n-Top
With a 8 sq. ft. load capacity area, the BT08 butt-n-top grapple is designed to match up to the 865, 875E and 880E series loggers. The overall design provides exceptional control of tree-length timber. The jaw profile rolls the logs into the load area to maximize load size and minimize cycle times.
Shovel Clam
The new Tigercat SC08 shovel clam grapple is designed for the LS855E and LSX870D shovel loggers. Also with a 8 sq. ft. load capacity, the shovel clam grapple provides an alternative to dangle style log and bunching grapples. The SC08 can enhance shovel logger functionality and productivity by increasing control of the trees and the speed at which the operator can gather and manipulate the bunches.
