NGLCO Holds Annual Summer Field Days in Valley City
T
he Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio Inc. (NGLCO), in affiliation with OSU Extension, Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association, held its 44th Annual Summer Field Days Aug. 9 at Rusty Oaks Nursery in Valley City, Ohio. Formed in 1927 as an educational forum for Lake County, Ohio, nurseries the association membership has grown to encompass an eight-county territory. The event featured exhibits by nearly 100 industry equipment, product and service providers. The event provides attendees with an opportunity to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances in a setting that encourages the exchange of tips and innovations in Ohio nursery growing. Activities included equipment demonstrations and family oriented activities, such as a fishing derby, a sporting clays event, nursery tours, workshops and OCNT testing. Founded in 1973 by Mario Cekada, Rusty Oaks Nursery serves customers from Denver to Boston, including clients such as the Cleveland Clinic, Martha Stewart and Ralph Lauren.
